Firstly, I love the finished result of this. As I was watching it go through the "ugly phase" that all models pass through I was getting worried but when the effect finally comes together it's spectacular. Oh, and I can't avoid noticing how happy all your filing folders in the background are. They are all smiling. :D
ahahah! Ikea sure motivated me to smile when i see those folders (in fact, i'm smiling now once you said that 😄) Big Thanks! 2 weeks of hard work and it sure paid off!!!
Very '80s animes' inspired, now with 3D prints a modelers' dream can became true, f.e. Papsikels has a lot of anime inspired figures, such as the power armours on the start of the video.
This looks really cool. If I ever get around to painting a mechanical army then this is 100% something I'll be doing. I think it would be quite a bit more difficult and clumsy to do this on a faction that has a lot of organic shapes like muscles. Well, maybe not Tyranids since they're so segmented but still.
I like that you used techniques that would normally be seen as bad in such a stylized way that it all joined together nicely to create a true to form piece. I've been leaning more and more to high contrast painting recently myself I look forward to seeing more from you!
You can make your life much easier with a coat of varnish after base coat, then just use Tamiya panel liners for your dark lining, then you can clan that up with simple alcohol and another coat of varnish before starting your final highlights.
Very nice end product! I've been watching Warhammer painting videos and are amazed by the talents of these people such as you. I've been wanting to pick up this hobby, but it looks very intimidating.
Ah don’t be, I was at the same scene like you, but once I started to paint, have fun, and just enjoy the journey. It started to grew on me and I just wanted to paint, learn and do more. Ahahah. Big Thanks! I’m so happy to hear comments like this!
Thanks! There were more botches i did that i didn't film it, like this model falls and break the one stick on the sides of the legs, and the antenna constantly break. 😆 Thanks again! Glad you like it!
Hey man! Have you ever done one of these videos on how to do this style on a spade marine? I’ve never really found on of those that I’ve found useful but your videos seem perfect for me to follow
Lovely model, I love the end result. I have a question though: I see you using techniques from what I know as cartoon style. Are there any differences that make you call this manga style or do you use manga/cartoon to mean the same thing?
Thanks! Well I call it that as there some differences. I guess you can say that the manga look has thinner lines, stronger colors, and probably sharper reflective lights.
@@omniming Yes,with that in mind I see what you mean. I like the style and would like to see more. Could you show how it looks on a less mechanical model?
Your painting is superb but I see you have an issue with the undercoat. It has 'dusted' which means that the aerosol droplets partially dried up before they hit the surface. So rather than turning into a layer of paint they become a buildup of paint particles. I would recommend Army Painter sprays if this problem persists. Army Painter sprays have more tuolene thinner than pigment which prevents the sprays from dusting your miniatures.
Dont know if its been asked but what kind of air brush set up are you using? I cant use a normal airbrush where im at but i like what i saw you using. Thank you for any help.
Thanks for asking! I'm not totally an airbrush person too but i'm on my way to master it soon. Consider what i have as a basic version, its from HobbyMio and its a USB battery powered Airbrush Compressor. The airbrush is just a cheap 0.3 airbrush from Kiprun, this is kinda a budget friendly method i'm using, unless i'm going serious on using it all the time then its time i get the huge compressor. 😁 Hope that helps!
The Frustrating thing about airbrushing is that you need to just trial and error your way through it. Sometimes its either the paint isn't thin enough, the airbrush isnt' clean enough, or you either have the pressure too high or too low. Don't worry, the more you use it the better you get at it.
Absolutely, i had to open and check each of the section if it is clean or if the paint is stuck again, hahah! But yaa, don't give up learning i guess! Thanks!!!
I’m glad you put in the part saying it took two weeks! I forget sometimes that it’s okay if painting takes more than a day and you can relax and have a good time while painting
It’s a portable compressor from Hobbymio, it’s not the best but it does its job. ☺️

Yeah, the the black lining is not perfect and som highlights cold be better but if you painted an army like that your technique would be better, and it would look awesome. I am, this looks extremely cool, almost surreal in how 2D it looks in some ways, and you nailed the stylistic expression. Almost tempting to repaint my Infinity models in a manga style like this since the Style of the game draws so heavily on that...but I am not fast painter and this seems to take some time!
Usually I’ll start with Mephiston Red and then Evil Sun. But seeing that it is already havin GB a bright color base, I could just go with Evil Sun immediately
wow this looks really good
Thanks, i was working really hard in those weeks!! 😍
really good is the understatement of the year
I appreciate you leaving the ooops in when knocking over your airbrush. Shows the struggle is real.
Hahah! Anyone who are pro airbrush would lose their mind seeing what I do with airbrushing 🤣
Borderlands Ironstrider! Looks awesome!
Heck yeah! Thank you!!! 😍

You should be very proud. Such a different painting style. Well done.
Thanks so much!!! This comment made me feel good 😊

Nice! I’m gonna find out about that one, Thank you!

I’ve yet to try on Tyranids but I do have 1, maybe one day I’ll try that.
Thanks!!!
Awesome idea and looks superb.
Thanks so much!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Awesome work. Looks like it walked off the pages of heavy metal
Hahah Thanks!!! Oh man, good times with Heavy Metal Mag. 😁
This is such a great look with lots of neat tips, thank you!
Thanks for the comment too! This means a lot to me with my RUclips and miniature journey
That looked like a lot of work but what an amazing looking model. Great work!
Big big thanks!!!!!
You can make your life much easier with a coat of varnish after base coat, then just use Tamiya panel liners for your dark lining, then you can clan that up with simple alcohol and another coat of varnish before starting your final highlights.
I’ve tried it but the panel liner won’t move, but maybe the varnish can work, thank you for the tips!
@@omniming the varnish will help with that, use satin or semi-gloss for teh panel lining layer

ahaaha, you're right! Its gonna be reallt epic! I'm starting to picture that in my head!
Thanks!!! :D
Really cool, just inspired the style for my infinity models, nice job leaving in the mistakes because it make the task seem less daunting and more fun

i really need to try this with some tau!

Would you do this with Tau?
Thanks!
I’ll think about that for Tau, let me see if I could get my hands on one of them
This was a good video
😁 Big Thanks!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

dope paint job 👍 what song was playing in the background? it fit the vibe so well
Thank you! the song was from the Artlist stock musics,
Anton Vlasov - Glow
Evgeny Bardyuzha - The Giants
eheheh.
Very nice paint job, now your others are going to feel under dressed though
Ahahaaaa its true, but hey, it gives me the motivation to paint them the same way soon, 😁

Missed the chance to makes the white scars even more asian
Oh man 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Manga is black and white.
Fixed, my apologies.
jojolius bizzare adventure
😆😆😆
its more of a borderlands cell shading rather than manga bcs manga is usualy black and white
Heheh. My bad on this sorta habit, but thanks!
You need an airbrush with an external compressor. What you have is a scam
I was thinking the same thing, but he still ended up with a better result than I do with my expensive setup😅
Interesting video and great painting.
Too bad that the hobby is about to die. Games WOKEshop killed it themselves.
turned out great! love it, its a style im starting to try more and more.
Thanks!!!!! I am working on a new video featuring skin too, stay tuned!
