6:55 Linus moment
JayzDropTwoCents
You need to flash the Linus head every time Jay drops something.
The day has finaly come, when jay gets a golden sample and wins the silicon lottery.
Now lets wait for him to ruin it with N2 OC or a delidding atempt ;P
There is someone who delided it it lost 10c
The synthetic results just make me want to see the OC 10900k results in comparison
That's what I thought too...
No way.
i9-10900K OC under an AIO would easily prove 11900K isn’t true i9, it can’t compete with 10 gen.
And imagine i9-10850K. Just imagine!
A processor which does no differ from 10900K anywhere outside liquid nitrogen and couple of corporate server applications. Except you don’t have to imagine, it’s already there for months. And it’s so cheaper!!
But you won’t see it here, such a comparison would surely force Intel to ask Jay for a change in editorial direction :D
such a lazy video like it was paid
@@PlayJasch 0:30 it was sponsored by asus. didn't bench ONE game bc they need to sell 11th gen boards. lol
@@EriIaz We get it... you have a 10900k

Total agreement here, for sure they are !
11900k was a terrible deal when it was full price. Now that you can get them for around $300 and high end z590 mobo are on deep discount its a valid choice.
Finally someone talking sense. I bought mine for 250 bucks and got a Z590 Ace for 180 bucks. Price to performance beats 12th and 13th gen easily
Yup, just got one for $280, and I feel really good about it. I was able to get this chip, 32gb of 4000mhz ram, and a 3080ti for under $1000. It really pays to give hardware a few years, never upgrade to the latest stuff.
Got a KF off marketplace for 50$ I still can't believe it. I keep hearing things about this CPU but then the price is just too good.
Should have added the 10900k overclocked as well for a full comparison.
and then in a more 'normal' board, for better real world applications.
@@kenabi No self respecting i9 buyer would settle for more 'normal' board. i9 is made to go scary, not to be artificially limited.
@@MJ-uk6lu the top of the insane list ofr boards doesn't exactly compare to how well a more 'normal' enthusiast board would handle things. sooo.. bad hot take there.
@@kenabi the only reason to get an i9 this gen is to go balls to the walls with boards like APEX and tachyon. If you intend for a casual z590, get the 11600K instead.
However, half of the z590 boards out in the market now including the ITX are pretty buffed out and I am not surprised that all of these board can hit DDR 5000 speeds with the 11th gen plugged in, because im already getting 4600 on a 10th gen with a z490 itx.
@@kenabi Just buy i7 then. If you are looking for value in i9 you are doing it wrong. Rocket Lake i7 still has 8 cores and you can overclock it, perhaps not as much as i9. And if you only care about gaming performance, then K version of i5 is what you should buy.
When advertising is so cheesy it's funny and thus circles back into mainstream use.
I will never skip through a Jayztwocents Ifixit ad

Is it Friday yet....? Now one of my favorite days of the week (its technically my "sunday")
6:55 Hello LinusTwoCents, welcome to the channel!
Similar to the computer I built this last weekend. Still learning the bios settings for best setup and run.
Using a Maximus XIII Hero mb w/ i 11700k. 128 GB corsair 3200 memory. 2 Samsung 1 tb m.2 on the pci 4 slots. Using a Dark rock pro 4 cooler. Waiting for the video card that is due in on Friday. Using onboard graphics at present.
Had some difficulty with getting the 2nd m.2 recognized. Had to format it in the pci 3 slot first. Then had no problems getting it recognized in the pci 4 slot.
Updating the mb bios was a bit time consuming. The system rebooted several times to update the various chips.
Overall, it seems like this will be a good system.
That's a good looking motherboard, also for some reason really like the angeled sata ports.
Asus have some beautiful boards, my z390 looks awesome in a frosted tampered glass case
limiting it to two slots only has to do with capacitance harmonics of extreme overclocking... in actuality a system with the same amount of ram across for slots is more nimble than one with deeper ram chips in two slots. That's why DDR5 is going to be two 32bit banks per DIMM slot instead of a single 64bit bank. (its multiplexed deep with higher speed transmit instead of using the broad bandwidth) So boards will go back to two DIMM slots but will still have four channels. Since that board has the dumb.2 port you wouldn't be able to use a second bank pair on that specific socket anyway...
I can't explain how much I love the ifixit ad, I skip everything else but I can't skip a classic 😂
I just got an Maximus XIII Hero and updated thr bios to the beta that allows Adaptive Boost Technology and it has been amazing!
Tbh, I just clicked on the video because the preview showed the iFixit-spot and I know that I always get a laugh out of seeing it xD
First youtuber to show the 11900k overclocked. Gamers Nexus just magically decided not to overclock 11th gen anything after overlocking literally every other CPU tested in the history of the channel so AMD wouldn’t get shit on
If that a new iFixIt ad?? I never saw that one and it's just as AMAZING as the other one!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!! (as always!) :D

I'm gonna be honest, i don't really like sponsor ads much... but this one alone earned this video a like 😂 probably best ad i've ever seen
As I recall Jay actually did this BEFORE ifixit started sponsoring him.
I've had the i9 11900K for about 2 weeks now and gaming on it for about 1 week. Not bad, performs very well in Microsoft flight Simulator... Yes, better than my other PC with the previous 10th gen i9 10900KF. The i9 11900K yields less stutters and slightly higher FPS. For me every little bit helps in Flight Sim and I'm happy with the performance thus far. Considering I only built the PC with the i9 11900K specifically for MSFS I think I'll enjoy this CPU for another 2 years or so.

Dont jou mean jays4cents.
Watching at half speed is jays1cents

@@Riyly No its an OC video so you are just boosting the data delivery to your brain (CPU) handling capacity. Steve from Gamers Nexus and Anthony from LTT must be watching this at 16x.
Two favourite parts of this video. The xmp success and the amazing windows 95 wallpaper haha so great
YEASH!!! Bring back the XOC-vids! I really enjoyed those!
Jay, for those who can afford the cooling and a high-voltage PSU and would like to OC their CPU, would you recommend it over the 5900X/5950X?
the last 3 benchmark have basically the same result/number but they are all different test.. am i missing something
first time seeing that ifixit ad. pure gold right there
I watched der8auer’s video on overclocking and delidding, after he changed out the thermal paste to liquid metal, the temps got a loooooot better, I mean in Cinebench R20 the max was i think 70°C
He dropped his temps by 12c and he couldnt even believe it himself LOL
Really impressed, but still, i prefer the i9 10900K. Don't ask me why, i think is because the name scheming that Intel used... i fell like a downgrade. If it is an i7 instead of i9 with 8 cores i will agree. witing for the extreme overclock to see if we can finally understand what the hell Intel was thinking with this gen.
Lock Gamer vc por aqui ?? mandando bem nos English, realmente esse i9 11900k não faz o menor sentido, lançar um Downgrade, onde já se viu isso
The extra PCIe lanes and DMI bandwidth seem nice?
You prefer it cause it is superior in gaming. Notice how he didn't show any gaming benchmarks? Asus gave him money to try and push the 11900k so they could sell more Z590s
Nice to see ya here
And yet, he compared to a stock 10900K.
11:38 That's not necessarily the actual voltage being supplied as VID is the voltage _REQUESTED_ by a particular core. For example, my 9900k may request 1.300v (ie. VID=1.300v), but I manually locked vcore to 1.220v in bios and thus only supply the cpu with 1.220v. It would have been nice if you showed vcore and or explained the difference between vcore and VID
Ur kind correct the only way you u can be sure what voltage is being used is to look at vcore, since your using manual and a static value for you vid is ignored, whereas am using adaptive so I can't go below the vid value as the vid dictates the lowest/highest value in the voltage and anything lower then vids lowest value gets completely ignored unless I do what u have done. But the reason I did this I don't want to be running at constant 5ghzt
@@thealien_ali3382 My claim of VID not necessarily being the voltage supplied to the CPU is not "kind [of] correct", it is correct. Regardless, it would have been nice for Jay to explain this as the rest of his video was full of basic information for first time overclockers.
@@xxslayer255xx any beginners to overclocking really should not be watching and just following Jayz videos. There's plenty of others that do focus more on that stuff, Jay could likely learn from them too
Jay do you have a video on moving bookmarks ,passwords and files from a old pc to a new built one? BTW another great vid, thank you.
I'm not sure the frequencies are ever going to be higher than right now; Intel had ample time to tweak 14nm to the limit, while first iteration of new nodes has recently always (at least since Haswell) been a bit slower clock-wise and both Intel and AMD are going to a new node with their next gens, so...
Just EPIC. There's alot of sponsored adds on RUclips, this is the only one that convinced me to buy the product right away. IFIXIT🔥

Ballpoint Mr. Lawrence
Ever thought of using a line chiller/draught beer chiller, for subambient overclocking, if you're not going completely nuts with LN2?
Ice is a nice cheap solution if all you're doing is seeing if it's stable enough to do a benchmark once. If you're overclocking that often though, or want to see if an overclock is stable enough to actually use, maybe it'd be worth it?
Thank you for this video jay :D I was wondering what you preferred to set things on in the BIOS. Im pretty new to OC but this helped me alot together with the 10900k review. I manage to OC my 10900k to 5.2 mhz on all cores! Its amazing! I can run 5.3 all-core if i only have XMP enabled and dont overclock the rest of the motherboard settings (ROG Maximus XII Extreme), but i belive i get better performance with 5.2 all-core and a OC motherboard. Btw, can someone tell me whats best, XMP I or XMP II on asus motherboards?
Every time he says "black ice" I hear "black guys". "Even black guys at home can't run this kind of memory."
You'll have to check out the Key & Peele skit if you haven't already
I wonder how much watts it's pulling. Saw 400w peaks on 5.2
Jay, I've got one of the very first i9-10900Ks. It runs on all-core 5.2 GHz in gaming loads, without crossing my thermal throttle of 90C.
I use a Corsair's H115i for cooling.
The additional CPU pins are also for cleaner power and helps the conector itself with temperature increase, not just to have enough power. Thats why some ppl, you included Jay, wrongly said you need only one. Ofc. On LN2 that is way more needed but even on air cooling that helps in stability when try to max out the platform and sqeze the last 100mhz
7:16 nice cut ;)

Power consumption numbers at stock and overclocked would have been interesting to see.
Gotta love that wallpaper. nostalgia all over again.
Also 2 core 2 thread ? 4 threads you mean
I think for an 8 core is an absolute beast, especially when overclocked!!!
With all the results Jayz and other channels have been getting when overclocking the 11900K makes me think it was engineered specifically to be a much more robust overclocking CPU than the 10900K. However, that does leave out those consumers not caring about overclocking, and they will either go 10th-gen Intel or (more likely) current generation AMD for a stock solution.
Thankyou jay, I am stoked to see this config. Intel memory controller still #1
I was waiting for that ifixit ad... I was not disappointed.
Love the wallpaper.
But you can only get these overclocks on Win 95... Seriously, love your screen background... LMAO
Another reason for 2 dimm slots is shorter traces which results in tighter timings
I was thinking about this the other day, what kind of specs can you get SODIMMs in? Given how narrow they are, it would drastically reduce the trace lengths, as they wouldn't need to splay out so much. It would also mean the inner traces wouldn't need to zigzag so much to maintain equal trace lengths...
Thats correct and I bet he didnt use a board like that with the 10900K and if he had the story would be different. I think Jay needs to revisit the 10900K with a better board and higher memory that will run. He needs to try an Aorus board that overclocks better and see if he can get the memory up there around 4,500mhz.
I actually watch the iFixIt ad every time. It's genuinely entertaining.
Der8auer delidded his 11900k and replaced the thermal compound with thermal grizzly liquid metal and saw like a 20 degree Celsius drop in temps kinda nuts went from 90 degrees to 70 degrees
Why not use it without lid at all?
@@MJ-uk6lu I mean without an IHS it would be pretty easy to damage the cpu dye by accident so I wouldn't probably use a cpu without an IHS but it would be better with direct dye contact for Extreme over clocking
@@travisbass6225 Is it really such a big deal? We had Athlon XPs in the past with bare die, pretty much any laptops doesn't have IHS. You just need to be more careful, when mounting cooler. Other than that, it's probably easier to damage CPU pins under CPU by using too much pressure, than destroying the die.
