I was out back stage talking to Ronnie that night. I knew he was going to win. Flex looked phenomenal also. I put the third coat of posing oil on Ronnie’s back and the thickness was insane. All those years of heavy lifting. He was absolutely shredded.

Ronnie has such a beautiful soul. He is a man with spirit and good will. Funny to see everyone around him not having a clue that he was going to be an 8 time Mr O and the best of all time.
10th place back then has better conditioning and muscle quality than of a 1st place mr. Olympia nowadays. That goes to show how terrible the mr. Olympia has devolved into.

The access to much higher quality pharmaceuticals over the counter and behind the counter. No social media so there was less stress less distractions. This is just my opinion only.
Flex wheeler lost my respect by acting the way he did. He did not look better then Ronnie and the judges showed it by giving him 2nd place. Ronnie is the greatest Mr. OLYMPIA ever. Flex should have been happy he got second place, he was the 2nd best bodybuilder in the world and that is something to be proud of.
Your eyes clearly didn't and still don't work...symmetry, lines, muscle bellies etc etc.. even Ronnie admitted flex could've won!! Flex had the whole pyshic that night!

If Dillett had as much galactic depth, width and detail in his back as his other parts and could pose properly he’d be unbeatable and GOAT. Only the legendary Sergio Oliva had that ridiculous waist to Shoulder differential to match Dilletts. Why didn’t he at least invest in a good choreography coach or something?? It could have made a huge difference, he could’ve mastered even hiding weaknesses, what a waste.
It's because it's difficult to move with 130 kg and cramps. Ask Markus Rühl, but Paul Dillet was worse. But I don't care about that, Paul looked magnificent even without posing.

Bodybuilding at its perfect and best mode. No one and I mean no one in history will ever be able to beat this line up along with 1998 Mr Olympia. They will even fail men's physique line up of today's era.
Ray, to me, always had the best "daily walking around body" of any competitor i've ever seen. Like that body could just walk down the street and people would say dude looks good, he must work out. Ronnie had the "omg, i could never look like that" body...like not even achievable with all the chemical assistance in the world. Ronnie broke his body and probably could have won several O's without doing that much to his body (physically...not talking enhancements because everyone uses that). But, no one else in the world beat their body to death like Ronnie. I believe he could have dialed back and still won 5-6 O's, maybe even the 8 he won. I just don't think Ronnie knew what dialing back was. He didn't know what pace was. He knew one speed and that was full steam ahead and one direction, straight forward. I met him once and he was probably the most humble guy i've ever met at that time. Shouts out to "light weight" Ronnie Coleman.

In todays judging, flex would have hands down won, it’s a no brainer he had the better symmetry, definition, full muscle bellys, but during this time mass was really more important than symmetry

It broke my heart when I saw in 99 that Flex Wheeler came in second position.
Ronnie was a bit too much for Flex.....Wheeler was playing the size game but he would have gotten 1st minus Ronnie in line up
