Dude I'm in Maine literally just got laid off yesterday for the winter...I'm on call though. Once we get our screen back up we'll be hauling gravel for my daughter's school building a new parking area. My Dad drives for another company and today makes 2 weeks since he got laid off. I wouldn't trade driving for a construction outfit for OTR. I'm home every night except on rare occasions and being off in the winter I get to spend time with my kids.

Don’t give it a seconds thought. I may be wrong but I did see your last video and it does not seem like you had any time to “train” on the new features of the truck. Not to seem critical of your boss who I know you have a good relationship with, but.........
It would have been a good idea to have brought you in for at least a half day and have someone who knows all the operation of that truck give you a full run through of all features and differences from the truck you were used to.
Plus, for a woman who had a baby so recently you are amazing to be able to come back so soon to a job like this.
You deserve a lot of respect and credit for what you do.
That truck is super cool and it looks like you would need at least a few days to get comfortable with everything on it.
Wishing you an awesome 2021 and lots of fun and joy with your new baby.
Please don’t beat yourself up over the mishap. We all know you take your job and your truck very serious.

I've had many people on teams over the years that have done exactly that and it says a lot about your commitment to being professional. I'm not CDL driver but have driven many things over the early part of my career, have to say I'm a bit peanut butter and jelly over your new K-whopper.

  • @majobis

Kind of cool to see a rear monitor to see the load being dumped.
Yes a little broom/sweeper may come in handy to have to wipe off the end after a load drop to the excess does not hit other cars on the road.
Yes it is true mistakes happen but you learn from them and move on.
Heck you can even make a little checklist and paste on the dash for things to do before loading and dumping since it is a new truck.
Every new vehicle will have it's own little quirks of what it likes and does not like and you will find those over time just like you did with your old truck.
How's it that air ride feel going.
A lot different than just the leaf springs?
Just keep on trucking and you will be fine.

Love your channel. Welcome back to the grind. Not too long ago I expanded our business which requires heavy Machinery and so I loaded my first Ultra clean and pristine super dump with a excavator and all I could think about was “don’t hit the truck with the bucket”. Even a Tap with the bucket tooth will do some damage. I’ve operated excavators for a while but never really direct loaded with one before. Its always been set it to the side and load the truck with a skid steer a few days later when we get dump trucks. I’m sure your boss is ecstatic that you take care of it like it’s your own. That’s a rare thing.

I had to rewatch just to figure out she was talking about. Correct if I'm wrong, Tarp must be rolled in before raising the rear pusher or it will crush the tarp? I drive a dump truck in NY and we don't have trucks like that. Too many axles and too many things attached to the spreader plate to jam dirt or rocks and blacktop too. My truck is a triaxle. Nice truck tho. When I saw the Flap switch all I could think of was flaps on a plane. then realized it was for mud flaps. Mud flaps on our trucks have to be picked up by hand. But every company is different.

I curious as to the answer with the pusher axles. I drive a 4 axle tractor (pulling a lowboy) and my rule of thumb is to have the same amount or close to as the air pressure as my drive axles. For example 60 lbs on drive axles I adjust my lift axle to the same amount. Of course as you add to the lift it’s gonna take pressure off the drives so it can take a few minutes to get it right. I can only imagine the finesse it would take with 3 lift axles.

You did things wrong, and that's fine, but it's wrong that you don't learn from your past mistakes.
    Beautiful video

Don't worry about the owner, he knows when he has a good driver. He also knows he'll never hire a perfect one!

    Know that feeling... it sucks...
...Tweaked my hydraulic tarp bars on my mint T800 Glider kit dump... Lifted my air lift Beuroc gate...with the tarp down...but wasn't quick enough to stop it.... before I slightly bent the bars....
...and I own the truck..!!!.. pissed...
The rear tag axle seems like a nightmare ... you're better than most !

Shit happens ! Years ago, where I worked we had a brand new 3 axle lowboy. Maybe 3 weeks old. The driver rolled in after a long day, to load a piece of equipment, before he went home.
He forgot to disconnect the air lines and 7 way cord from the gooseneck, when he detached.
We worked until after dark , fixing the damage.

You should get a mounted pressure washer that works off the air compressor
