@@bbbabrock Yeah. Most people want to just sit there and do it all day. If you're paying double the price, thats half as much you can sit there and do. I get the point of the scene but no one would throw away any product even if it's subpar quality since it can always be applied in some other context later on, or when running very low on product in general. Could even sell it to the same customers but at a discount. It's very normal for coke/meth/heroin dealers to have different levels of quality for different prices of the same drug. Not to mention that'd be a total waste of valuable precursors used during the cook like pseudoephedrine which is already hard enough to get as it is. A P2P cook you can waste that shit all day I guess but not a pseudoephedrine cook because it's not racemic and that method is much more specific in its ingredients. The P2P cook has much broader options and its chemicals are a lot harder to control. Were they still doing pseudo cooks at this point or were they officially stuck on the P2P synthesis method at this point?
@Gogi Poggers Because I'm taking organic chemistry right now and was also just prescribed Dexedrine (enantiomerically pure amphetamine) and in the past few months was studying the Manson Murders and their whole use of drugs like Benzedrine (racemic amphetamine) and so I sort of naturally fell down this rabbit-hole of research about amphetamines, isomers and ephedrine/pseudoephedrine precursors and how stereospecificity depends heavily on what method of synthesis one uses. So basically, when it comes to either amphetamine or methamphetamine; stereospecificity and what isomer the drug is is a huge deal even to just casual users and/or people who don't know much about chemistry. The big question for meth is pretty much always, is it racemic or not. And that has everything to do with what kind of cook one does.
If you’re wondering, Badger is rightfully angry. Even back in 2008, it was hard to get that much pseudoephedrine. After so many cooks, the total amount of cash wasted was, assuming it was a pound each, probably 10-20k each, was 30-80,000 smackaroos.
