- In this video I will show you how you can easily transfer your data from your old phone to your new phone on Android 11 using a USB Cable.
If you don’t get the option to use a USB Cable during the setup/transfer process it means your phone is not compatible with this method.
Check out this video instead ( • Android Data Transfer ... ) to transfer your data wirelessly through your Google Account.
This process may also work on Android 12 but this has not yet been verified.
If this video helped you in any way, please give it a Thumbs up and Subscribe to keep the channel going :) Cheers
*This process may not work with phones that don’t use stock android like Samsung, LG, OPPO as they have their own backup & restore solution.

Google Pixel Data Transfer, Motorola Data Transfer
You know a lot of RUclipsrs on this data transfer, don't go into the details, but it's always the details that matter good video well done 👍✅,
I will recommend your channel to others job well done 👍👍
The clearest and most concise video on this subject I have found, thank you.
Thank you for the kind words ☺️🙏☺️
Hello I’d like to ask. Can I download files from the internet on android phone one…
When android phone 2 is giving the internet connection to android phone one…
Through WiFi or physical tethering? I’m trying to download graphene on the…
Android phone one. Let me know if this is possible. Ty.
What apk can I use if I already have my new phone set up
What if the other phone is not new? Just a classic file transfer situation.
Thanks for the clear instructions most suitable for newbie oldie with little to no tech experience or knowledge. Cheers.
Where is the link for the software?
Thank you very much!! Short and simple, IT JUST WORKS
I was all set to use a cable but this process never asked for one! Luckily, I watched your other video too. Many thanks for the info for both! 😎😎
The cable option seems to only come up on some never devices but I'm glad the wireless method worked ☺️
When I connect the two phones with the cable nothing happens. The dialog fails to progress. The old phone is a Xiaomi POCO X3 and the new phone is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 12. The cable is brand new. Any thoughts on what could be going wrong?
Dear in my mi 11 lite usb connect option not showing.only wireless option is showing
I just need to buy the suitable cable. Hopefully, I will be able to do it following your instructions. Thank you.
Hopefully ☺️
Can uh elp me, please? After it says to connect the other phone, it pops up an usb for me select which one will control the usb settings. I just tap back and my new phone stucks on screen: Check your other device, while my (old) other device shows up: Copying your account. And it freezes forever on this steps, nothing are copied. What Am I missing, please? Thanks!!!!
Thank you, it proved to be useful
Why do I need WiFi when you have an usb connection?
Thanks a lot! Umidigi Bison doesn't support this unfortunately. But I could see exactly what step was missing and know why. :) Very helpful video, thanks again.
You're welcome 😁
Thank you for the vidéo its brief but concised clear smooth and easy follow thank you ):
Thank you 🙏😊
Pretty annoying that my transfer dialog never asked if I wanted to use a cable. It defaulted to WIFI and didn't allow me any option whatsoever to choose USB. I have tons of content and according to the ETA, it's gonna take 6 hours wirelessly which is a little ridiculous. I tried setting up a Xiaomi phone just a few days ago and did the exact same transfer, and it took less than an hour with the cable. I have no clue why Google is forcing users to transfer content wirelessly... Really silly, especially if you don't have tons of time.
Thankyou for this demo, but my old phone wont let me connect to wifi, this is the reason I've got a new one, stuck I'm afraid.
Hope you can figure it out, thanks for your comment :)
Very Useful video. thanks
Helpful !! Thanks !! I am not sure what is needed though when transferring micro sd cards ? In my case I'm upgrading to a higher micro sd card. Would that data transfer as well with this method ?
Thanks again ! 👍👍👍🔥
I am not getting the copy data option in my old phone what can i do
me too
Maybe your phone doesn't support the native android data transfer option
My non-phone savvy, non-tech savvy sister got a new Moto 5 5G 2024 yesterday from T-mobile and had the salesperson transfer her data from her 6 year old LG phone to the new Moto. Her contacts did not transfer over and she is very upset about it. Also, she does not have a Google account. I'm not quite understanding if the process you describe above will transfer those contacts or not. Will it? I'm going to have to try to transfer her contacts via some method but I don't really know what I'm doing either. I didn't see any mention that contacts would transfer over or that there was a checkbox to include contacts in the transfer via the method you describe. Help please...
Please help:
I'm trying to transfering from my Samsung Galaxy A37 phone to Xiaomi Redmi Pad tablet.
Via USB-C it fails.
Via Wifi it fails.
Via google backup, it fails.
All fail.. Thanks google...
Any idea what I can do to solve this? Thanks.
How can i transfer data from old phone when the screen is frozen and i can not unlock it?
How about on NOT a new phone? ffs
New or old it's the same process
Factory reset the other phone (google the name of the other phone and the words "factory reset" which will wipe all the data and make it look like the "new phone" in this guide)
I need to know how to do this again because I skipped that option when my phone first got cut on. So now I'm trying to go back so I can try it again but I don't know how to get back there it won't let me go back once you shut the phone up and have no option in the phone as far as I know of that would tell me how to start this process over again so I can connect both phones but the c port
Am also same ask
The only way to start the process again is to factory reset the phone and delete all data
I did the same.
a) WhatsApp
I don't have google backup. I only have local backup on the old phone. Not sure what to do.
b) To give an idea, I had around 95GB in the old phone and in the new phone after your steps has 65GB.
25GB is WhatsApp files and rest is from third party apps like Concur.
c) All Apps are installed on new phone but not data for these third party apps.
How to fix it?
FYI: I started using new phone, except these third party apps. I am still using old phone for these
My old phones screen isn't working and I can't be repaired. Is it possible to do this with 1 phone working?
Is there a way to stop the old phone from sucking the battery from the new one?
How are people acting like its normal to have a cable that has mini usb on both sides.. WTF ive never seen that shit
Thank you this saved me!!
Glad it helped!
While using Wi-Fi, will my data transfer go to somewhere on the cloud or to my mobile phone company for someone to access? I am trading in a Samsung J320v and transfer to a Samsung S 24. I had rather use the USB C cable method for the transfer. Thanks!
But if not new phone .How to get that option later
Bravo Vladutz ;)
What if your old phone is cracked and you can’t use the screen?
Does this method works even if the old phone doesn't support OTG?
i can connect my old phone which has micro USB and don't support OTG to new one with type C via converter and it'll be charged but it's not showing file transfer option like it showed while connecting to computer, but i didn't tested it on initial phone setup which you're showing here.
So far so good and thanks for this. However, I am an iPhone guy and all my iPhone updates were super easy, just tapping the old phone with the new one and putting them side by side. It does the "cloning" wirelessly without getting you into trouble of finding a suitable cable and\or adapter. Really, isn't there something similar with android devices? Now I need to do it with android phones (xiaomi 6 to xiaomi 9) and I can't find anything simple :( If there isn't I will try finding cable and go this route (I don't understand the need for the cable when they are in same network and why they can't directly connect via wireless). I may also try using google cloud backup approach but there is about 57 Gb data in old phone:( That wouldn't work I guess because of free google storage is low (and seems to be clumsy, to upload to internet and then get back when it should simply should be able to do in the same LAN).
I think it really depends on the device manufacturer and what kind of data transfer method they implement. Some have really quick and easy ones and others don't... The default Google option is ok but still needs some work I believe - As far as Xiaomi goes I believe they have their own data transfer app called Mi Mover you can download from the google play store Link (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mi.global.mimover) - Hope this helps!
@@THELABHUB Thank you. I saw that one too but it didn't have good comments (and I have the responsibility to do this for my aunt:). Good news is that, I remembered I had USB Type-C to A (female) cable that I bought to support USB TypeA on macbook pro (I hope I will complete this without a need to write some app).
Good Luck! The Mi Mover app should be ok to use as its an official app from Xiaomi
@@THELABHUB Thank you.
Will transfer existing data in new phone
Please guide us how to transfer whole data from old phone to another old phone 🧐
Doing this won't wipe the old phone right
Which is a better method of transfer! Wifi only? Or cable?
Thank you!
I always prefer cable if you have the option as it's faster
Miui 12 k20 peo not showing this option. What should i do?
I'm not familiar with that device but maybe this option is not supported on there
What about if screen is broken on old phone
If the WiFi is not working in the old phone, will this work? Also is there any way to restart the initial setup wizard once the setup is done? I have setup the new phone already, but want to run the initial setup wizard to run in order to transfer the data from old phone to new phone. Thanks
You need to factory reset set the newer phone. But if you have stuff on there already you lose it unless you have backed it up. Fun this, isn’t it?
Did the same. But it didn't restore messages and call history. Any solutions?
For be it did 🤷🏻♂️ I just did the same process a few days ago to another phone
I keep getting stuck when the old phone asks for the password, I'm assuming they mean Google password? Every time I put it in, it says it's wrong, but it's not. I also tried putting the phones password in, still getting the same message.
Yes usually it is the Google Account Password
What if I already setup my phone . How to get this option
Only way to bring up the data transfer tool is to factory reset the phone and go through the setup process again. Of course the reset will wipe all current data on there.
If the pictures in old phone isn't backup on google account is it going to transfer?????
Can it transfer chats and data from Viber?
Hi, will this method transfer all my photo albums?
To be honest I don't create photo albums so I am not a 100% sure but try it and definitely let me know 😀
"PIN number" lol
Helpful video though cheers
Can you do it wireless
What if I don't have Wi-Fi?
So which way round should the cable be? With pure USB C the devices choose which side is host, but for USB B or USB A (eg 2 connected cables) the cables decide.
Ir does it work both ways?
Great video
Thank you
Is this working in laptop!
Question ask, where did you buy that USB cable?
It came with the phone
What if my old phone has a barley visible screen
Then you might have a problem 🤷🏻♂️
And, what app are you promoting exactly?
It's not an app, it's a built in process on Android
where are the accolades coming from . "Bar Buddies our what " Since when does connecting to your WIFi server pull up a copy apps & data window .
Also Click Start , what am I missing , cell phones use a power on- off button , computers use Start
No idea what any of this means 🤷🏼♂️
I got stuck on the [Connect both phones using the cable] 3:44 in the video. It just would not do anything. Eventually turning on developer mode made it work.
Some phones play up with the cable option, I've tried some other brands and had issues too
What did you do after you turned Dev mode on? I have the same issue.
i found it useless cause you dont show where that start screen comes from
This set-up process happens when you first turn the phone on. You might have skipped it if you don't see this process
does not work waste of time
If it didn't work for you, it doesn't mean that it 'does not work'
