English translation:
If you listen to this channel more often then you'll be used to this: we're gonna play some live music, we do that more often on Friday afternoons.
Last month it was announced that symphonic metal band Epica around mezzo soprano Simone Simons had won the "Metropole Orkest met" contest (met means with) with over 650 artists competing. They got nearly 70.000 votes.
Before you turn down the volume because of the term "symphonic metal" be rested, they're here in the studio in a acoustic ensemble with mezzo soprano Simone Simons, Isaac Delahaye as guitarist and Keyboard player Coen Janssen.
Welcome all 3 of you, since you're a band we'll just listen to you first in this acoustic setting. Epica.

Live from the studio Epica- Beyond the matrix, thanks for coming. I'll just talk to Simone cuz she has the mic. You have won this contest with MO and will be collaborating, what will that be like?
Simone: exciting, a great honor that we won, thanks to all the fans for voting. We're looking forward to it, it will take place in December.
Host: What will you be doing, will you be recording something?
Simone: yes we will be recording and existing song with them.
Host: will it be released?
Simone: yes
Host: Isn't it that a highly unusual thing, to play with an orchestra?
Simone: We've played live with a Hungarian orchestra before, and we also record with an orchestra.
Host: so you're already a bit used to it.. but like I said, symphonic is different than acoustic, so usually you sound different?
Simone: live we usually are with 6 people on stage, now with 3, also nice, the others are waiting for us in Zwolle where we'll be playing tonight. Touring with an entire orchestra is almost impossible.
Host: Yeah I can imagine, you also went to America right?
Simone: Yeah we toured there for a month, Canada and the U.S. we haven't been back for too long actually.
Host: So tonight Zwolle which is sold out and tomorrow Haarlem, which is also sold out, you'd say you don't need my promotion anymore haha.
Simone: Our last show in Nijmegen on Sunday hasn't been sold out yet.
Host: now then people still can get tickets, your're doing really well; sold out concerts, tours in North America, you just released an E.P. the Solace System, is it still important to win these contests?
simone: orchestra is an important part of our music so winning these little games are always fun to win

Simone: aside from the regular shows that we have, are these things milestones. We really like playing with orchestra. It's also fun to work with other Dutch people considering we are a Dutch band. We have one guy from Belgium in the band, Isaac the guitarist.

Eduardo Gutierrez también la vi en vivo. no tengo que sacar ninguna cuenta. sólo opino que estoy en desacuerdo con la gente que quiere que se vaya de la banda por que "ya no le da la voz" para mi es mi idola y la quiero en epica toda la vida.

I've never been a fan of Simone's voice. I can't stand it, it's too much annoying to my ears. When i listen to some of Epica's albums i try to focus my ears on the music, which is really good, by the way, specially in the last albums, and not on Simone's voice, cause otherwise it's impossible for me. One or two songs in a row, not a big deal, but a whole album?? no way!!

Give her a try in one of Ayreon's projects she sings differently there and I love her voice in those projects more. Even though I personal do like her voice most of the time :)

No man, thank you but i rather pass on that one. I listened to some of it and it sucks. Mark should focus just on the guitar and let the singing to someone who can actually sing.
