Patrick Depailler wins the 1978 Monaco Grand Prix - Depailler's first win (Natural Sound)

After a great start from the 5th spot on the grid, Depailler would sit up in 2nd place until lap 38 when leader John Watson would overshoot his braking point in the Nouvelle chicane, going down the escape road and leaving Depailler in the lead.
The Frenchman would cross the finish line in the first place for the first time in his career after achieving a then record of 15 podium finishes without a win.
