bit of a joke that Collin came up with game changers that made the rest obsolete and not competitive... but when the fan car came out, legally, he was with everybody bitching bout it being unfair..
Well, it BASICALLY was. Bernie owned a large share in the other teams, and Bernie being... Bernie, decided it would be best for HIM and his shares for the team to self-ban the fan car, then regulations did actually ban it afterwards (forgot which year brought in the regs)
@@sharcc2511 It wasn't banned at the time. Other team owners said they would just do the same and there would be a cost escalation and safety concerns, so Bernie withdrew it.
@@sharcc2511 he had no shares in the other teams he was working to become the head of foca, and needed the support of the other team owners for that to happen
Peteson absolutely livid with Patrese....unfortunately this festered to Monza...and he was made the fall guy...all a bit messy and really should never had have to ended as it did...
the 1978 Swedish was known for 2 reasons:
1. The fan car
2. The last ever Swedish GP in F1
R.I.P Ronnie Peterson 1944-1978
Mario Andretti. I felt no different to him than the Esposito. Lotus is honour

Both brabhams qualified on full tanks of fuel.

The "Fan Car" technology was banned after this race, so the BT46B had a 100% winning record - 1 race, 1 win.
it was not banned after this race..
