Wow, I was at that race only a few feet away at the hairpin. It was an adventure getting there. I was a student at the Fac de Lettres in Lyon. May '68, France was in upheaval. No gas stations were open,. I "borrowed" 15 liters and drove to Monaco via Switzerland and Italy. No French border guards - they were on strike. Slept on the stoney beach at Monaco. I didn't have a ticket but I noticed that they were blue so I flashed an airmail letter I had on me and got onto the grandstand. Unforgettable! Thanks for the upload.
In 1968, still the time of the "circulaire" ticket which allowed you to walk from one end of the circuit to the next one; from le Gazomètre to le Portier. The Loew's hotel was not there and the airpin after Mirabeau was still called virage de l'ancienne gare and the tunnel, le Tir aux Pigeons. Ha, and the magic sound of the Matra V12!. Happy childhood in Monaco, a long-gone heaven now.
On 1:22 it is visible when cars change gears by the nose lifting at every shift. Great Super 8 footage. The only thing I miss is hearing the Matra V12 engine!
I filmed all the movies on my web site (and mine on RUclips), and I took all the photos on my web site except for the 1905 ones. In 1968 I was 26 if my arithmetic is correct! Brian www.brianwatsonphoto.co.uk
Yes. He said himself he always kept to the centre of the road on the approach to Mirabeau. Probably to avoid the infamous bump on the left hand side? ruclips.net/video/7G6i2ZuM6To/видео.html

Yes, no Ferrari that year.
and that's my TVR (white car right at the beginning). Parking was easier then...
My hero Richard Attwood came second ! I have been reading Jenks race report this week!
Grande filmato
È l'unico che mostra gli incidenti d Rindt e Rodriguez(anche se già avvenuti)al Mirabeau.
When the flag waver was on track 😍👍
Race that introduced the first ever wing car in F1, as we can see the Lotus is the start of this.
Possibly a worried Bruce McLaren on 0'07" ...I think he had forgotten his wallet or the car keys at the hotel....
8mmフィルム映写機で再生した映像をビデオカメラで収録したのでしょうか?
(映写機の再生音らしき音が聞こえますね?)

Nice!
I was age 16. Foreign exchange student. Would love to relive that week.

Did you film this? How old were you in 1968?
