I've just finished the game. What a masterpiece. I had my fair share of encounters like that one. The worst I had was logging my credentials at the emergency phone booth and by the second light goes off, I hear it crawling out of a vent behind me
Reminds me of the end of Alien when Ripley buckles up with her back turned thinking the creature is oblivious, she turns around to it and its ready to strike Lucky Lucky Lucky
The amount of horror that comes with being forced to wait while a monster is in the same room as you is absolutely insane, especially if you don't know if it is close or not. It gets me every time
The hacking mechanic in "Alien: Isolation" is a great way to ratchet up tension. It reminds me of lockpicking in "Thief: Deadly Shadows." In the Shalebridge Cradle level, there are electrified zombies that cause the lights near them to flicker. You can't take your attention away from the lock while you're picking it, but when the lights start flickering, you know there's a zombie nearby and he may have just spotted you.
The long pause like “Should I even unpause…?” lol. I just started this game recently, I don’t think I’ll be able to get much farther before being too scared to continue
@@Neko.Virtual cap FNAF is only scary for a few days, if you expect the junpscares, get used to the random sounds in the background, the game becomes super boring and not scary at all
I did that exact same pause technique with Resident Evil 3 remake. I never completed the original on Dreamcast (I was young at the time) and its was a highly stressful and anxiety ridden game. So it reflected a bit with the remake. lol.
The PSVR version is real nighmare fuel though. Especially considering you can have it so the Alien can hear you through the microphone as well! Never held my breath so much in a game. Loved it so much, just rebought on Steam, years after the PS4 playthrough I did
Im currently doing my first playthrough and I never knew that the alien could drop down there (maybe you just took to long). Medbay is though the absolute creepiest one so far in this game.
The alien is unpredictable, for real, once I was hiding in the exact same scene but while the alien was killing the other people, I was at the second floor upstairs behind some boxes, the alien finish and ran directly to me without me making a single noise
I've died at that spot. It's very unfair as if the alien comes into that room you cant do anything and theres no warning so if you were doing a no death run you would die even if you were an expert player
I started drinking bourbon while playing this some years ago due to the tension. Of course, I'll play another campaign maybe next year. Might kill me, but I love the challenge.
@@Kelev2484 Trust me it's even worse than you think. Seeing a video of it and experiencing it doesn't compare. When you have the VR headset on your head everything looks 20x more real. You ARE hiding under a table while a 7 feet tall alien is roaming the room.
i was at the exact same spot, after i hacked the door he ate me right at that moment lol i was playing at my friends house, and right before I died, I told him : imagine he‘s waiting until i finish hacking, and guess what he did hahah we had a big laugh
To be honest this game will forever be the reason why I hate so much the reacet enteries and focus on shooting of alien and shooter genera in reacent games
Alien was like "Hold that door for me, pls!! What? How rude!"
and then it followed them around the station out of sheer vendetta
@@liliana.6053 yes! That is it's origin story 😀
😂😂😂
I know right? I mean where's his manners.. all the alien wanted to do was murder him.

holy shit the amount of times ive had to pause the game to recollect myself is insane lolll i love knowing im not alone in that
I guess all players do this lol

When i heard him drop from that vent just above the stairs, i was like; "Yep, ...this is the end for you my friend" ...BUT HE JUST WALKED BY YOU!

This whole game is one prolonged heart attack. Especially if you're playing with a camera / mic attached and the enemies can hear you.
😂😂
You should have turned around and said "Swiper no swiping!" Than the alien proceeds to snap his finger's and go "aww man!"
Alien behind player: "Ahem excuse me, sorry to bother you but that is the wrong code. The correct code is G-4-M-3-0-V-3-R as in GAME OVER." 😁😅
I could almost hear you saying "shit shit shit shit shit SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT"
that's exactly how it felt when I messed up the access tuner lol

It's one of the most underrated games in history.
It's one of the best games ever made. This was one of the most difficult parts.
I have never been so stressed out playing any game

This is literally the definition of the phrase "If I don't see it, it's not there, it can't hurt me...!"
I knowwww you were mashing that A button so hardd 😭
Yep lol
When the alien came up behind you, I was like CLOSE THE DANG DOOR! CLOSE THE DOOR!
Lol
The Alien was so polite not to interrupt the doors there at the end.
The time consuming doors make the game really tense.
I thought u wouldn't make it.... The time for the elevator hitbox to appear seems like forever 😂
Definitely lol. I was panicking the whole time
"Incorrect code" -> hits Pause.
🤣
I my god you made me accidentally drive my fingernail underneath my other finger nail because I clenched my fist so hard. THAT. WAS. INTENSE.
oh my, you had serious balls of steel to finish the hack. well done!
There is nothing more terrifying than hacking a door or a terminal and then you hear breathing behind you...

I love how you call it Steve. I ended up calling it Brenda lmao
Lol! I watched some speed runs of the game and speed runners call it Steve, so the name stuck.

Like when the killer in DbD just lets you go, because it would be rude to stop you 1 step from freedom. 😂

I did not realize that I pinch my lips when I’m terrified until this video.
God. Ive been playing this in vr. That moment even without her outside the door was so terrifying!
You were that close, man! You should have pulled out the motion tracker before hacking the door there! Lucky! 😱☠️👽
This game is deceptively scary. It takes a little bit to get going but once it does this shit will haunt your dreams
Okay that’s a good one!
alien saw you hit the button and was like. DARN. welp see ya later
I really laughed at this. 🤣
They need to Remake Resident Evil 3 and give Nemesis these mechanics.
Thank god you can pause the game, imagine horror games where it still continues even if you hit the esc button
Only game I’ve ever played where I would regularly scream out loud.

I forgot that this game was so scary people paused the hell out of it from sheer terror
Hold the door, hold the door… Hodorrrr…
I died laughing when you paused out of pity
New to the game i hated this location.
Nowhere to run while being occupied with a semi active alien
Couldn’t have let that go on much longer without getting caught 😂 Jesus
OMG YES, thanks for the adrenaline rush..!
This entire game is a free heart attack simulator.
