Absolutely agree, only cosmetic looks are not enough for camping and off-road activities. In camping water fuel and electricity plays a prominent roles. So in my view focus must be on the same.
People who're complaining about the price don't understand how many hours went into thinking, engineering and testing all these designs😂. The build is cheap, the research is not.
Ma per cortesia costa quanto una casa . E non venirmi a dire che progettare un van è più complicato e costoso di una casa . Un van nudo costa ca. 30k € , i materiali per l'arredamento non arrivano a 10k € altri 10k € per la parte tecnica loro ne vogliono 100k ma per piacere. Cioè 50k per progettare e costruire tutto ? Ne costruissero solo uno ok , può essere quel prezzo, ma ne costruiscono migliaia . Con quei soldi vado 3 volte all'anno in vacanza nei migliori hotel per 10 anni .

Multiple engineers thought about the design for years and years to get here.That's like 500k on engineering wages, testing materials, crash testing, fiberglass molding etcc over the years to get to one design. Than you need to build it. Yes it's maybe €10-15k in materials, but to build one it takes hundreds of man hours. Let's say it takes 2 weeks to build a simple camper. That's like 80 hours. At €20/hour for one factory worker (factory workers get paid well), that's €1600 added to it. But then you need to: pay for the factory, pay for transport to the dealership, pay for your sales people, pay for a stand on one of these big campershows etc.. I think the companies are lucky if they get a 20% margin per vehicle, I think it's more like a 5% margin for the smaller companies without a streamlined factory to dealership supplychain. But even worse: the builder adds a margin, but the dealership adds a margin too. So the total build can be like €35k for the factory, but with dealermargin and fees, it becomes €60k. We have seen countless smaller camper builders get bought up by the big companies, because operating costs are just too damn high. I agree with you, some are too expensive. But you're basically paying for an appartement on wheels that you can take with you anywhere. Over the 10 years you proposed, the camper would have paid for itself in the money you saved on hotels.
