- It’s easy to forget that blue jeans weren’t always a keystone of youth fashion.
In the past, they were seen as functional, hard-wearing work clothes. So tough that one company offered you a replacement pair if your jeans could be ripped by two horses pulling in opposite directions.
Challenge accepted.

Brings back memories of my youth laying in the shade under a tree with a lively little filly called Jean ❤
So now we know, the jeans ARE horse-proof, but they're NOT tree-proof 😄
We wear them to show what we've got??? I want money back on every pair of jeans I've ever bought.
You got jeans, and wearing them you showed you got jeans. Job done!
I am not ripping my Levi jeans apart trying to wrangle horses. I can do that with my flatulence
Blow hard! 😁
" In London we buy them for sex"

Yikes. It appears that the BBC was as weird back then with its 'proofs' as it is now. There was nothing in the guarantee about a horse and a tree, but instead the slightly less contrived scenario of two horses pulling at the product.
My first thought was why on earth are they using a draft horse and a pony to pull opposite each other? Makes no sense. They need average sized horses of a similar weight.
bit daft, using two different sized horses
Hung like a horse wear jeans.
Yes, but the horses weren't stallions!
What does the sex of the horses involved matter? Their size and strength are more important. Many stallions are actually smaller than geldings.
@@Mick_Ts_Chick I know that (having worked with many horses, including stallions). My comment was a flippant reference to 2:20. Probably should have added a 😛emoji to make my intention clearer.
@@fburton8 Oh, gotcha. I used to have horses myself. Wish I still did! My love affair with them started when I was 4. Once you get horse fever it's with you for life. 😂
@@Mick_Ts_Chick That is very true! 🙂
In a country, where people scrub a beach for coal (Jul 10, 2024 video), the national TV denigrates sensible American clothes for either being too sexy or too utilitarian. Those Brits. But cannot buy a pair of American-made Levy's anymore.

Whatever happened to Pepe jeans !? I think they may have got cancelled along with a certain frog.
