Great! I had a mobylette luxmatic back in the early 80s to get around on after selling everything i owned before setting off on my world (almost) backpacking trip. I loved it.
Been loving the reruns, keen to see series two but hope you've still got all the stock from series one and it hasn't just vanished into the ether during the longer than anticipated break between series.
Ha ha ha Henry... I have to tell you this story.. My Friend Nigel Beaney, err shall we say, borrowed his dads Mobylette, when dad and mum were on holiday.. he offered me a ride on the pillion, which of course I accepted gleefully.. A ride out from Milton Under Wychwood to Lyneham, and back via The Bruern road was exhilerating... The only problem was that we were onl 13/14 years old at the time. Much to our horror the local Bobby Stan Hicks was just around the corner by the church, and literally threw his pushbike into the road in front of us... Needless to say we tumbled off. A one way conversation ensued, in as much as a propper bollocking, followed by a clip round both our ears... and being told to tell our fathers why we had bee clipped round the ear!! This would have been in about 1961/2.. In later years, we began to respect Stan Hicks for his old school way of dealing with us very naughty boys!! And in later years enjoyed having a beer with him in The Quart Pot in Milton. Sadly tose days of level headed policing are long gone... Anyway to my friends from those days in Milton and Shipton Under Wychwood, I say hello from sunny Spain... Brian Ricketts ( deceased) Nigel Beaney, Mickey Adams, Andy May, Dave Wilkinson, Barry Lovegrove ( AKA BUNT ) Colin Hopkins, ( Deceased) Roger Miles, Alan Catlin. and others my memory escapes. I hope you are all doing well!! Oh and by the way Henry, is Sam your best mate any relation to Barry Lovegrove.. AKA BUNT?? happy tinkering. Alan Murphy AKA SPUD. Cheers.
With all the idiotic laws passed by the European Parliament on gas emissions, such videos may no longer be allowed in the European Union. You are lucky to have come out of this hell! I respect you for that!
Henry I've just watched your junk and disorderly program and wanted you to know the chopper bike you sold was a tracker Which sold in the 1970's as a cheaper version of the chopper. I had a red one,if you Google tracker bike 1970's you'll see what it would have looked like 🙂
This is always an enjoyable show. I’m captivated by the items and the way they handled. Long live Henry Cole and his mate.
Sam Lovegrove... vintage motor engine guru !
Those mobylette mopeds run forever. Funny video.
Ah, it's great to see more content from you guys! Very happy
Smokier than a Gauloises factory, may Henry ride on forever.
