So glad you didn't paint the legs. The stain makes the whole thing richer. This project turned out great. No one will notice the imperfections except for you. It looks great with your chair. Lay a small lap blanket on it so the cats will lay on it and not scratch it. Successful project!

I've seen tester videos of leather dyes and yes that Angelus navy is very dark. But it did turn out amazing, you did a great job, as always 🙂 Also, the Angelus box has two flaps on the back that you can push in, which creates a holder for the bottle.

Dear Sophia, it seems and looks like whatever hands you get on different things and projects you only improve for the better. Just like this project, you improve this foot ottoman for the better. You can improve old furniture to look like new and repair certain stuff in the house, you build closets, flower beds, you installed tiles in the basement laundry, fixed the old fan that was complicated by removing it and replacing with the new one for boys bathroom and a lot, lot more. You are god gifted lady, very lucky and have gold hands. Meaning you are born lucky and gifted with capability to know how to do so many things around the house both men and women jobs. You are amazing, hard working lady and we are very impressed with all your hard work. We enjoy watching all your videos. You also have a very nice family as well as lovely pets. Always excited and looking forward to your next video, because you always have different videos and each is interesting in its own way and more fun to watch. We love you, Sophia and all your videos. Keep up with the great videos and different projects around the house in your spare time of course. All the best to you and your family from a family in Canada.

I found a wooden rocking horse on my street and fixed it up..a dog had chewed the massive rockers so I cut them shorter and put a new seat and foot dowel on it and it's mane was made from phentex yarn and all fuzzy so I made little braids all over the head part..lots of fun fixing it up.

The foot stool looks really great. You gave it another lease of life and it will hopefully last you several more years. Personally, I think it looks so much better blue. However, I could be biased because I have a matching pair of blue charger leather & wood sofas, one is a two seater and the other seats three. Plus, I also have a matching chair and foot stool. I have had them 25 years now and they all still look in really great condition. To clean them I use water with a little drop of lemon dish soap and a squeeze of real lemon, followed by professional leather cleaning cream. Then I buff them with a leather wax containing built in moisturising conditioner, which polishes them to a great shine. The three seater sofa does have some tiny little scratches from when we had our dogs, which I just disguised by colouring them over with a little blue sharpie. I have decided this year I am going to use a proper leather dye pen to fill them in instead. If they ever start to look their age, I am definitely going to try doing what you have done with your thrifted foot stool, so thank you Sophia for demonstrating your method so clearly.

I enjoyed this - I think your efforts paid off Sophia! For future restoration/cleaning projects of porous, delicate or hard to clean materials like leather,, stone, wood and textiles, you could look into Fuller's earth which I think is Terre à Foulon or Terre de Sommières in French. It's a traditional. cleaning product, the kind of thing our grandmothers used. Great for removing grease.
