In the future you could try a gentle warm shallow breath of warm air into her lungs by putting your mouth over her nose. That would warm her core body temp a bit better than just external warming. Love Darricks calling to her to wake her like a mama. Derrick is an awesome goat daddy. You guys are awesome goat parents.🥰

Oh, I was so upset in the beginning and when she started to respond, so did I with a smile. She is hopefully on the road to recovery. Such a sweetheart.
Definitely need an electric blanket or heating pad for the future. Whew. That was stressful ! 😰
We used warm packs on the human babies! Just warm water in gloves.
I always thought that I would like to have goats, after watching be everything you guys have to do and go through, I think I will just live vicariously through you all. Take care.
I agree and do not want to own goats ever again.
I have had goats off and on over the past decade and my Boer goats were tough as nails, zero ailments but they were total escape artists and obstinate. I should have used a hot wire but I didn't. My Boers could damage a fence quickly enough to squeeze under or could magically leap their fat, short legged bodies over a 4ft cattle panel to escape and wouldn't come to grain because they knew I was upset that they were out and they knew I was going to put them back so I had to round them up or trick them to go back. We had packs of coyotes around so I locked the goats up at night and on cold winter days and being so willful they would brake the stall door off it's hinges in order to escape and that happened a few times. I wanted to breed them to make some money so I got a beautiful Nubian buckling and my Boer does beat him up really bad and he died. After trying my best goats just aren't for me. They can be cute and full of personality but at the same time they are such fragile and/or destructive creatures. I don't see how anyone can keep a herd healthy, alive and safe. They get their heads stuck in the fence even if no horns and do it repeatedly. They eat poisonous plants without a second thought and die if you don't force this gross remedy in a tube down their nose to their stomach. Ive had experienced, moody nanny goats be excellent moms for the first couple weeks and then decide to kick their own babies away to prevent them from nursing. I've had kids suddenly die without explanation. Also had a sweet bottle raised doe I had hoped to keep as a milker and she ended up being sterile :(

I had two Nigerian Dwarfs, loved them both so much. They were twins Hazel and Gus. Gus was castrated and due to this amongst maybe the feed he ate he got a urinary blockage that couldn't pass and the surgery would have been too invasive so we had to put him down. He lives on in my heart but I do hope someday I can have goats again.

How about official name Determined? Then Deter or Deets for her nickname/ everyday name. Or, try Dealla, Irish for “protector” or Diamond, Old English for “invincible, untamed. ”

@@avasellars3174 Great name, but if they keep the kid, they give them one that starts with the same first letter as their dam. So, this is a fourth generation doeling they're keeping. Dream-Dawn-Dreamer-Dinky (or whatever they decide on.)
PS In one of the newer videos, Crystal explained that when they were having health problems with the little one, that they offered the other doeling (that they were planning to keep back) to the family that was buying the itty bitty. And the other family accepted, so now she is going to be staying with Blue Cactus Dairy. 😁.

Oh my gracious! Crystal, I am soooo glad you found her in time!!! I had tears! It didn't look good in the beginning. We had to bring a doeling in as well and I found the hair dryer (and jump start) to be my best friend! She is our bottle baby now and we will slowly transition her back to the barn as she grows. We both have miracle kids! ♥️

Oh my...I could hear the pain and fear in Crystals voice and saw her hands shaking while she was rubbing on the baby. What a horrific early morning discovery. I am so sorry that happened to you guys. It’s so terrifying. You guys are so wonderful with your animals and they are so lucky to have you guys as human parents. The love you have for them really shows through in every video you post. Derick, you are just so precious...talking to the baby was just beautiful. Will be praying this is the first and last scary situation you have this kidding season. That is wonderful! I’m so glad you found her in time! We just had the exact same situation with one of our puppies! Too cold, no heartbeat, no breathing, then a gasping breath once we got her body temp up! It’s amazing how resilient and strong these babies can be! In past situations, have you noticed any lasting issues or deficits with kids who get hypothermic like this? Or do they go on to be equals with the other kids?
