Denis Villeneuve is a dude who referred to Dune as "the bible" throughout the whole process of making the movie, so I'm gonna say he's not going to cast away the design of the most important object in one of his favourite scenes.

The only thing I like more about the current adaptation of this scene is how the reverend mother holds the needle, it just seems intimidating and powerful. Still love the concept of a finger cap more, though.

And the pain is felt by 3 people instead of 2, because without a woman standing outside the room bearing the pain for Paul, he wouldn't have passed. So powerful. At this point we older moviegoers are akin to torture porn victims being strapped down, pleading with the killer saying, "Please, you don't have to do this...", while the killer simply grins.
Bree the point is that fear can make you act irrationally. His hand is fine, he could feel but not see the outcome. He merely had the fear that his hand was being burned, when in reality it is unharmed. Fear over Covid is irrational. Act in a proper manner and be safe but do not fear it.

I can understand if you don't like the SW movies for putting it's ideas in a More simpler way (good vs evil), but saying that it's mediocre because it took inspiration from Dune (the superior story) would be just a waste of time. SW Is for fun with the family, while Dune is has more Depth and is more mature. The sequel Disney trilogy on the other hand, that is mediocre garbage. I just ignore that even exists.
