    Only about as TMI as Jordan's toilet seat.... I always buy a pack of Depends (disposable underwear designed for incontinence) to wear during the first week of post partum bleeding. So much more coverage and ZERO leaks!

      Another option, if you can't afford a bidet, is the Fridet, a modern version of the peri bottles from hospitals: www.amazon.com/FridaBaby-006-Fridababy-Fridet-MomWasher/dp/B00VO65XB0 Fill with warm water. Boom! xox

    I ordered a Luxe Bidet Neo 320 for around $50. It just attaches to your existing toilet. Easy to install. Has cold and hot water, adjustable pressure, and options for nuzzle cleaning, wash, and woman.

  • @chelseagarchar4338
    @chelseagarchar4338 5 лет назад +41

    For those that can’t afford a bidet. There are these things called a toilet diaper sprayer. Generally used for cloth diapers, but can also be used as a sort of bidet. They hook up easily to your toilet water line. I cloth diapered my first two kids and will my third in March when she’s born. The sprayer is also great when going through potty training for spraying off poopy undies and clothing before sticking them in the wash. Those can be found on Amazon for $50 and under. I love the life factory bottles baby bottles. They are super durable, I breast feed my babies too, but like to have a little backup in case something happens where I’m at work a little too long or something my husband can feed my pumped milk. Yes diaper bag with backpack straps is a must. Honestly I just for 90% of the first few months just dress my kids in footed jammies or sleeping gowns. We use sleep sacks for sleep instead of swaddles. I love my muslin swaddles for everything else... As a spit up rag, back up bib, back up diaper ( yes you can! just look up flat cloth diapers) it can work in a pinch even if you disposable diaper your baby. I know a few moms that have ran out of diapers in the middle of changing their baby in the store.

    My must have is a shower 🚿 sprayer with a longer hose. Too many 💩 poopie blowouts! Such a relief to conveniently and gently shower my baby and his clothes!

    • @edensweatt1095
      @edensweatt1095 5 лет назад

      @Fearn and Tucker’s Angel Forever I used to think the same thing until I started watching my nephews 6 days a week. I would see the blowout and think "wow he must've pooped a lot!" Then I would open the diaper and see that it was a fairly small amount that for whatever reason ran to the legs and was more watery. Don't make moms and other caretakers feel bad by saying they aren't changing enough.

    A game changer for me as a nursing momma was a Milkelle. Its a little collection cup that fits inside your bra on the side your not nursing on,collects the milk that naturally leaks out from the let down, then you pour it into a milk storage bag and freeze! I have been using them for a couple months and have a freezer of stored milk,no pumping involved! Love your cover too Jordan! Its the nursing cover of my dreams!😍

    Must have for at home is the OXO baby wipes container. It's weighted so the tub stays in place, even when you're pulling the last wipe up. Wipes clean easily, and it has lasted me through both babies. I got it on Amazon for about $20, I believe.
    I second the Walmart baby bottles! They work so well.
    Backpack diaper bags are #1, especially if you have more than 1 child, because it frees up your hands/ arms, and you aren't constantly adjusting your bag.

    I will have my second child literally in a week (8th Febr), and I am sooooo nervous. But seing, that someone can do it with six energy-bombs makes me hope that I will survive :D Favourite baby must-have for me was and I think will be the coconut-mattress swaddling cloth (sorry rough translation from my language) to hold the baby in a stable way, and the baby carriers, so I have my hands free to do anything. Congratulations for your wonderful family :)

    Will be a first time mom in a few weeks so maybe this is impractical but it was great for toddlers: when I worked as a pre-k teacher we used plastic (not latex) food prep gloves to change diapers. I could wipe poop without fear of smearing on my hands and then afterwards I could roll the diaper really small and stick it inside the glove (other glove goes over that one) to minimize the smell in the trashcan. And no gross leaks.

    I love the baby (blue) bottle! I had to breast pump and used those HIGHLY recommend if you’re going to be out on a long trip! because you can buy A pack of 3 and take the silicone inserts instead of 2 or 3 bulky bottles and just use different inserts oppose to rinsing them at a gas station or whatever, you can use a clean new insert! I would of loved if you mentioned that as I’m obsessed with them !

    Hey Jordan!
    I would love it if you could make a video about baby food. How you make it? How to make it cheaply? Maybe what is your baby food making system, and the stages of transitioning your babies from breast milk/formula to food. My son is about to turn 1, and I am having the hardest time (and cannot figure out why). I am so afraid he is going to choke, especially if he is crying. It would make my day if you could shed some light on your experience. Thank you!!!

      I used the Ninja Master Pro to make my baby food for all 4 kids. It was crazy easy & blended the food up to a smooth puree. I just used fresh fruits, veggies (and eventually meats) when I pureed & used breast milk to thin it out. (You could also use water instead). It's super easy, just intimidating the first time around.

    Swaddleups instead of those sleep sacks and blankets have been a dream. My son is constantly in defense mode, so this is the only way we can contain the moro reflex and he wont work his way out of. Plus the are warm, but still breathable.So he stays the perfect temperature. LIFE CHANGING.

    Jordan, I really have to give you credit with those inventions. Especially that cover!! I was so worried someone would see me so I would hide or whatever anywhere I could. I agree with backpacks for diaper bag- backpack all the way!! One of my favorites baby items is definitely the baby Brezza. It’s like a kerig for bottles 🤣👍🏻 Also, I don’t know what I would have done without the “rock and play.” So handy! These "Moses bags" have been around in Ukraine and Russia for a long time) Most even have a little structured hood over the baby's head in case of rain or snow. Very convenient. They often come with the stroller.

    We use the same pacifiers! As a fourth time mom, I agree with all those must-haves. I also recommend having a ton of receiving blankets. They’re so versatile.. burp cloth, blanket for tummy time, put them under baby to change diapers on. I can never have enough baby blankets!!

    Real talk because ive always been curious. When you have a bidet do you dry yourself off with a towel afterwards? Do you use tp afterwards? Or do you air dry or what?

    • @robinihrie2405
      @robinihrie2405 5 лет назад +2

      BedHeadRed95 I’ve never understood bidets either! I don’t feel like water spraying on my butt is going to clean it, I’d need to wipe it! Not just going to spray me then stand up and pull my pants up, that seems so uncomfortable. And how do you know the water is going to spray the right place, do you wiggle around until it hits the spot? Lol ... we need answers!!

      I pat dry with a little toilet paper. I’ll never not have a bidet ever again.

      Here, we don't use a bidet but a water bottle or cup... You pour the water with one hand and clean with the other one. Just as if you were in the shower. I haven't felt this clean and fresh before. Then you can use toilet paper or a small towel (depending on your zero waste journey) 🤗👌

    Jordan, I love you, but you just reinvented a thing called babylift. I'm guessing that means that americans don't have them, but we definitely do in Scandinavia, Europe. :)

      I think the difference is hers has pockets so it's a bag as well. I was thinking the same thing about the Phil and Teds Cocoon that we used with my baby. It looks the same but then I realised the Moses Bag is a baby carrier and diaper bag 2 in 1. Although I don't know about the babylift, maybe that is a bag as well, it didn't look like it when I googled it.

    I had my first baby 4 months ago and my favorite baby pajamas are from Lou Lou & Co! They make these knotted gowns that are buttery soft and knot on the bottom so middle of the night diaper changes are a breeze! We also love their hats & swaddle blankets! Everything is so buttery soft & stretchy! And so cute! 👏🏻

    You said it isn’t safe to sleep in a car seat, but isn’t the Moses basket not safe as well because it has soft sides? Same reason why SnuggleMe can’t be certified for sleep.

    • @audreypearl7833
      @audreypearl7833 5 лет назад +14

      Ashley Victoria I thought it was more about the fact that the basket is flat unlike the car seat that can construct airways if it’s not it the base

    • @vintagegal4919
      @vintagegal4919 5 лет назад +3

      The Moses basket kind of reminded me of a coffin at first glance. Looked like a little baby would really slide around in there when carried. Maybe a little too large.

    • @lisabarnwell8409
      @lisabarnwell8409 5 лет назад

      It looks really comfy but a car seat has straps to secure a baby from falling out. Does the Moses basket have straps for when you’re carrying baby?

    • @kalynbrocato507
      @kalynbrocato507 5 лет назад +6

      @@lisabarnwell8409 Either way, a baby shouldn't stay sleeping in a car seat. The safety problem is that they can cause asphyxiation because of the positioning. It has nothing to do with straps.

    • @lisabarnwell8409
      @lisabarnwell8409 5 лет назад +2

      The safety problem is if an inexperienced parent lifts a Moses basket bag and carries it like a diaper bag with a newborn inside who is not secured, the baby could fall out. A normal Moses basket isn’t generally designed to be carried around, when out and about it stays inside a house. When carrying a baby in a car seat capsule, the baby is strapped in so it can’t fall.
