The Guitar Circle of Europe performing Discipline as an encore during the Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists performance in Farnese, Italy on Saturday April 21st 2012. www.guitarcircl...
I was in the green room. When we heard the tempo that they launched into it with we all looked at each other, because it was noticeably faster than they had been rehearsing it. We were all sending good vibes that it wouldn't crash and burn!
I've seen other performances from Guitar Circles where the audience waits before clapping. i think it's a Fripp thing to do with listening for the silence.
Hats off to you Brothers in Hands!! Better job than most of the live KC performances Ive seen of this (the most challenging) piece!! Wonder if any of you were at the American Society for Cont. Ed. in 85 for GC 1, 1-1/2 also? Bravo! Way to give those clam whackers the stiff muscle!!
they play the piece very well but damn... too many guitarists play the Levin part, we almost can't hear the guys who play the Belew and Fripp parts, that's disappointing !
It's an excellent rendition, but the nature of the room (or the camera's audio capability) makes note definition kinda difficult. Wasn't what Robert meant with photography/recording, but it applies here, in a way.
Very nice now can you give me a more simple song that has a great melody like Eleanor Rigby yes i know it is not as intence as this song but so much better
I'don't care what anyone says, but those damned Ovation fiberglass guitars just don't sound good. As proof, why don't you see fiberglass violins or cellos? It's the wood that the rich tones produce. The other thing is trying to hold on to one...they slip right out of your arms!Give me a good old Martin-D anyday.
Yah but they're reelly cheeep.... The better players in (the former) GC generally play better guitars than Ovations. Ovations are for scrubs like me. :)
Now that, was a perfect circle. Thank you.
I love the Pat Metheny reference. .☮️💟🤙
That's a really tough piece even at the regular tempo - and this version is way, way faster! Well played indeed!

this song is aptly titled: to play requires absolute discipline! bravo!
Amazing Performance, truly fantastic!
I'm happy for these people!
Perfect performers. G J.
fantastic!!!
As Fripp always preferred, these pieces are best played in a seated position.
So? This sounds amazing either way.
Fripp was the only member of the band who sat. (Well, and the drummer, but YKWIM.)
I like how the crowd had to take a few seconds to catch up when they finished playing.
Really cool stuff!
And the people on the left didnt clap at all

eagerly await the return of the band King Crimson, we are all very fãs.um hug!
Bravo, encore.

A young Pete Townsend is on the left.

Not for the faint hearted guitarist. Bravo!
With a better audio quality it would be perfect
AMAZING!!! :D

Do you guys use Fripp's New Standard tuning?

Does Fripp make EVERYONE buy those wretched Ovation guitars?

It lacks the percussions that constitute the soul of this musical architecture .... ;-)

You are correct, sir. Not to mention they slide off your knee....
