I mean what do you expect the guy had a misleading thumbnail and stretched a terrible feature into a 17 minute long video.
I gave this video a thumbs down 👎 because he could’ve easily saved us time rather than waste so much time at the start. He knows better. No excuse. Also, its not a button but “hard-tap” as a button implies ‘depressing action’ and you won’t be able to activate it simply by pressing.

Q. Does the back tap work through a phone cover.
A. I have a gel rubber cover with the round finger holder and it works through the plastic and rubber. You just have to hit the correct place and tap it hard enough.
It’s been available since iPhone 8.
Go to Accessibility : then Touch : scroll down to Back Tap : to set it up.
There’s 2 options, 2 taps and 3 taps.
Hope that helps and saves 10+ mins.

I have an iPhone 8 and activated the back tap feature. It worked, but! I activated the triple tap to turn on the flashlight. I had to take the phone out of the case to get it to work. Apparently the case absorbs the force of the tapping and the phone doesn't recognize what I'm doing. Great if you are a raw phone user.
This is my first iPhone ever and it helped me a lot. I have the new iPhone 12 ProMax. I’m so happy to have a better phone than my old android phones.😁
About enabling unannounced features later via update - Apple famously never announced that the iPhone 3G could do Bluetooth A2DP until they enabled it via a software update when the 3GS came out a year later.

I just purchased an iphone 12 and stumbled across your video. I am a new subscriber.
So you’re responsible for my coworkers talking about the “button” on the back of my phone. It was pretty frustrating trying to explain that it’s not a button. I had to explain that the tapping doesn’t always register and that it’s more possible to drop the phone in the process. I had to explain that the side button can be customized to do the same as well. I have the new iPhone and they don’t. They keep trying to tell me how convenient that back “button” is. I need them to get the new iPhone and show me how convenient that “button” actually is, because apparently you were the one that told them it is.

The secret button is not exclusively for iPhone 12 Pro, it works also on iPhone 11, don't know if an older iPhone do it, is an iOS 14 feature
I didn't even know about it until this video. But I have the iPhone X and it works on my phone. Neat little feature I'll have to enable when my 12 pro max finally comes in the mail

Are these tips just for the iPhone 12 or for everybody
I use a double tap for screen shot and like you sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Also, it can go off when I put the phone down a little hard on the table. I use a triple tap for Do Not Disturb Mode when at work. The funny thing is that I inadvertently engage it when I’m just absently tapping the phone while thinking.
Regarding the possibility of reverse charging, if it’s ever enabled I can see MagSafe cases for AirPods that snap to the phone and then charge through to the AirPods.
it’s not only on the iphone 12 and it’s called back tap. i have an iphone SE 2 and it works.
settings > accessibility > touch > back touch.

the back tap is actually available starting from iphone 8
I have a 8 Plus and a iPhone XR no the 8’s don’t have backtao
My 8 plus does have back tap.
@@brandonrenwick9218 download the latest update, its on all phones on ios 14 from the iphone 8 upwards, its only a motion/accelerometer based software update not hardware so in theory any iphone can work, but apple restricted the roll out, anything prio to the 8 series wont get the upgrade

Use the hide home screen button when rearranging widgets. So many times apps will move to next page in error, instead remove all pages except one(s) you are adjusting widgets on.

The LiDar is a great way to measure things capture the picture of something you see in the store like a table and see how it looks in your house can’t wait till I get my 12pm
What I’d like to be able to do with Lidar is identify objects. Suppose I want to know what kind of car or plant something is. Scanning the car or leaf would be a good use.

First that “Secret button” has been around since at least iPhone 11.
And second, there are two other places you can get your IMEI without having to remember a secret combo that has been around forever.
Settings -> apple account -> find your phone in the list of devices and open your phone.
Settings -> General -> About
I want to see Apple or some other 3rd party produce a 3-D scanner app utilizing the Lidar sensor for use with a 3-D printer.
I’d like to keep 5G on at all times but for some reasons the only option I get is 4G and LTE. What is the reason for that? My iOS version is 14.3
Where is this option? If you’re not seeing 5G where the carrier bars are, either there isn’t a 5G tower near enough or your carrier hasn’t enabled it. Bell in Canada actually had to enable it for me.

The iPhone hotspot is horrible ... due to TTL restriction on the connected devices. I’d be interested to know what speedtest.net shows (Ookla) on your iPad when hotspotted to the iPhone 12.
I knew about most of this stuff already. But there was a couple of things I did learn. Thanks for the video. Yeah the back tap button I learned about in the 11 pro and I had forgotten about it. And couldn’t figure out why my phone was constantly taking screenshots when I didn’t hit any of the buttons. Then I remember about the back tap. And I do use it everyday many many times a day. Lol thanks for the video.

Airpods can already use reverse wireless charging. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and it can charge phones and airpods.

Thank you for sharing these "secrets" of iPhone. I just try the back tap and am surprised that the function works through even thick phone cases like Adidas Sports Grip with build-in stand/grip. I wish Apple would add "Flashlight" on/off for the back tap.
Back tap also works with Siri Shortcuts. So if you have a flashlight shortcut (Turn on flashlight) then it will work. Lol I have a Starbucks order option!

Wow the personal hot spot has been a thing on galaxies since the S5. The S7 due to the completely environmental proof design could be charged with a magnetic wireless charger to convert it to an outdoor wifi extender / repeater since it also supports wifi sharing I e. You can leech another wifi source to create your own wifi subnet

Hello and thank you for the secret buttons. Am having an issue with the one to force 5G. I don’t have the cellular and data option in my phone what I get is a primary and secondary line with the secondary line disabled. It’s How t mobile activated the phones. I don’t have that screen that does in your video with the 3 options of data roaming, voice and data and data mode. Any help around it would be appreciated. Thank you

The measure feature can be used to check and see the area of getting a new refrigerator or washing machine or dryer, not just your friend's height.

It’s actually any vibration of the phone will set this off and if you set this feature up you will regret it. It has nothing to do with the Apple logo, it has to do with the vibration sensor of the phone. When you start this feature when it senses the 2 or 3 vibrations it will do whatever task you have assigned it. If it’s screen capture, your phone will be doing unwanted screen captures all day long every time it senses vibrations.
