Installed these on a riding mower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxetgfkJxfdT_B2vGYP-uNTLaBbim9OKTD . They were sharp out of the box, although I've never liked blade edges that were coated...not quite as sharp as I personally want. Using my belt sander, I removed the coating from the cutting edges and refined the edge enough to shave with them. So far, after three runs, these blades are holding up as expected. Even after hitting a few fallen 1/2 inch or so branches, the edges are still sharp as heck. No edge dings, no warping, etc. As far as installing them, the cutouts were of the proper size and shape to fit my aging Craftsman mower. Very satisfied.
The table top is beautiful. The hitch attachment is brilliant.
it's a brilliant use of a common feature.
I must admit that I was very relieved to see that you posted. I saw the news about the flooding in Germany and I thought about the river where you put the lovely benches and wondered if your home and shop were close to a river or stream. PLEASE be safe! A lot of people would be flat out heartsick if something happened to you, your wonder dog, and your friends. I saw people driving on the streets where here there would be notices saying turn around DON'T drown! Some guy was paddling in a boat that was teeny and using an equally ridiculous paddle. YIKES!! You are good people. I'd cry my face off. So glad you are alive!
It is your unusual approach and unconventional way of doing things that I really like and why I watch the things you make.
Great problem solving, I love how the adjustable pivot arms stop themselves. The wood and finish look wonderful.
One thing that i like about you is that you present all your builts despite the fact that some of them fail... Thank you for sharing your ideas, kisses from mitilini lesvos greece.
To take the wobble out of the hitch I drill a hole in the corner of the hitch tube. Then weld a nut so a bolt will push the hitch up to the opposite 2 sides. This also stops hitch rattling while going down the road. This also keeps the hitch from getting stolen if the thief doesn't know about the bolt. Make sure the hole behind the pin on the corner directed diagonally.
metal worker/wood worker/ designer and creator. love it. love your shop and love your tools and the way you work them. in awe.
The way the table top came up with the finish application !! WOW !!
Holy smokes. Great fabrication and love that the table can be leveled when the terrain is not! Very impressive idea.
Fantastic…Dear Laura I have been obsessed with metamorphic furniture for 20 + years. Especially tables! I have made many many height adjustable using old office chairs / stools
/Belly Boards etc and height adjustable walking sticks. Always I use things that have had another life 😊. Hence I loved your saying in your last video….”Imagine a world…” you know the one. The quote is now pyrographed across many of my home made campervan ideas. Love your Chanel….we have much in common ! :)
I like that you make weird concepts or try things just for the sake of trying it. I recently delved into a project after thinking about it for ages and finally just did it. I'm also currently trying to actually get a workshop (so I don't have to work on my workbench in my livingroom anymore) and watching people like you for years inspired me to really do stuff myself and work with what I have (mostly room constraints) and just making it work somehow.
Thank you! You're such an inspiration and I enjoy watching everything you build, doesn't matter if it works or doesn't in the end.
Really cool. Hope all is well with you and no floods in your area.
Holy crap, your workshop/studio is HEAVEN!
Yes it actually is heaven!!
@@laurakampf That wall of systainer drawers is just reward for all the great content you put out! 👍
Laura calls it a prototype, for me it is a finished product.
Thanks for sharing this video. Your craftsmanship and artistry are amazing, both in design and execution. Trusting that you and your family are safe from the excessive rain and flooding. Wishing you and your family another blessed week.
Ma'am, this is absolute brilliance! I salute you! I am defo gonna make one, but probably weld it in aluminium.
Girl... You're out of this world, design goddess!
Good to see you weren't flooded out!
So glad you kept going on your journey for the perfect camping table, this one looks amazing! And I'd never seen Teflon washers before, I'll have to get some
What a great idea and execution Laura. Love it! Hope you and all your family and friends are safe from the horrible floods.
I watch so many foreign woodworking videos that I know several wood species from North America and Europe and few from Brazil and neighbor countries. Nice to see you using Cumaru!
Tynan Sylvester would be proud. You don't have to eat without a table anymore.
Awesome content as always, thanks for sharing it. ❤
Absolutely beautiful work.
I love that Table,You are a Genius.Hallo from Sweden.
Functionality be-damned, that's a fine table top and deserving its own praise!
You are very talented indeed. I love all your videos.
Beautiful wood work.
Brilliant idea
Add a little stick-on bullseye level to the hitch mount maybe...not necessary, but a bit faster than levelling the table by eye when standing over it at an awkward angle. Very cool project. If my little old pickup truck didn't already have a tail gate at table top height, I'd totally copy this.
Such an interesting hitch coupler! Our hitch receiver system here in the North America is very welder friendly so we come up tools and gadgets all the time to attach to our vehicles.
Maybe check with you steel supplier and see if they carry, what we here call DOM tubing (i.e. no weld seem on the interior), it allows you to slide tubing into one another with ease.
Mad respect for effort put into your prototype!
I love it. minor adjustment, but it is great idea
Table looks fantastic and strong. I like it !!!
Beautiful job on the tabletop. Hitch mechanism is spot on too.
Love your videos! They are relaxing, zen like, for me as a maker. The solution to all your stability problems: gussets, gussets, gussets!
Hey, I hope you are okay and unharmed. Know the floods are around Köln, and am so sorry for the disasters in Germany, Belgium and NL right now. Take care!
Hoping you and your loved ones are all safe and well in this terrible moment in Germany.
Love your videos, the unique reason to wake up a sunday morning 😁
Somos dos.
Cool again. Needs a pin to lock it to position. Square tubing to make it stable and permanent and just table to be detachable. Thank you Laura !
Thats a very nice setup that you have come up with great idea
Love your passion and enthusiasm. Great project, you have so nearly nailed it. Beat one yet and an excellent concept.
Forgot to comment earlier... great looking table top... love the finish, and the slots will keep the weight down and allow easy clean up. Could also be used to help transport items that don't fit in the van to where you are going by attaching a small box on top. I see potential in most of your ideas, but I think a LOT of people would be interested in this. Maybe even add a folding leaf once you master the stability. Thanks again for a great start to my Sunday, and the rest of the week
The quest for the perfect table continues! I so appreciate your persistence.
I love the idea. It would be nice to have the table fold in half, for more compact storing. Love your channel!
What a great example of practical creativity: the legs are the problem? Let’s build one without legs.
Best part is no part
Brilliant build and another great way to enjoy life. When the suns shining pop the table up, doors open at the back and extend the campervan to outside beautiful idea 💡
I WANT THAT TABLE!! We NEED this table! Sure it's good for camping, but right now, with Covid, we are not wanting to go into anywhere, I don't care how good the food is, it isn't worth dying for! Many places do not have outside tables, If we had this, we could make our own dinning area. Last month we went to a super nice place up in the hills over looking the Northern California coast, and we ate in our truck. There were redwood trees all around us and it was beautiful, this table would have made the night so much nicer.
Yes, that is a great usecase for this!
I love how you stroke your builds proudly. You are so nice to them.
Greate work you are out there and doing it.
Always a pleasure watching your videos
Your imagination ethics and skills always blow me away 👍🏻
I always love to work with wood. I like to go in my garden, too, but best is if I can use my tooles to create e.g. a wardrobe or so for nishes no normal - to buy - wardrobe fits in, to make walk in - wardrobes and special furnitures for all my tools I bought for my wooden works. You could displace me near a „tool - and market for diy- things“ and I had to do for hours, just to see what is new, what I could use some day and what is there but I don't need. Loved to see you working with wood. You're great.
Nice. I always love the quality of your work, creativity and skills. Keep being you because it comes through in your work.
Very cool. Can't wait to see 2.0.
Hi Laura. I'm so impressed with your idea that I paused the video to encourage you to continue your witty and clever projects. Have you ever thought of selling kits where people can order them and assemble them at home? Best wishes Laura in all you do! Lu
Finally, you managed to make your table completely stable, it's even better than what you wanted to perform in the beginning, one thing leads to another. You knew how to bounce on the imperfections 😎
Coole Idee !
Das regt zum nachbauen an, mit einer dünnen Siebdruck Platte könnte man vielleicht etwas an Gewicht sparen.
Sieht natürlich nicht so schön aus, ist aber dafür pflegeleichter.
Everything you do is a work of art
i´m happy to see a little bit of Smudo at the end. I already was worried.
Good job on that! Looks good as well!
It's just so cool to see all these mechanisms working together. Also can see the table becoming a Smudo snoozing platform...
Yes, that would be perfect!
Excellent idea.
If you ever want to revisit a collapsible table with legs, perhaps consider bracing wires. Have a look at early biplanes, like from ww1. Some simple string is extremely strong when under tension yet is very lightweight. Thin wooden legs are strong enough to hold the table up but not to resist the sideway forces... Combine the two and you get something lightweight and strong.
Laura, the table is perfect, just that the wobbling is from the tow hitch itself, not the from the table and it's holding mechanism. Keep up the great work we are perfectly enjoying your channel.
A cool idea. I think the main drawback is the placement. If you want to get all things fo breakfast from the back of your truck you have to place everything on the side first or you can't clse the truck again.
what a brilliant idea!!!! I would totally buy one if I had a camper van.
I am a very happy subscriber to your channel and I love watching all your videos, you have such a creative mind and I'm always checking your channel to see what new videos you have posted
Looks like a standup desk too! Awesome!!
Really cool table & so pretty too.
+1 for this project !!!! attaching a shed on the back of the car can provide with a shade while working
Love the fact that your not afraid to weld or try different concepts. As a welder I would suggest using gloves melanoma or skin cancer can be a real bad thing and while I believe you have a choice for yourself you also have a slight obligation to your followers the future makers that may neglect proper protection and possibly hurt themselves because they overlooked it as well. What if you made a direct attached hitch table would remove some of the ball or socket wobble and might be able to make it out of wood for some weight reduction and tigher tollerances hitches have some wiggle room as well or I would use a adjustable height style that uses bolts to have a vertical flat starting point
Love this design. Very nice step by step video. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Can't wait to see more videos. Design on. Fab on. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
Excelente idea y hermoso trabajo!!! Felicitaciones! Germán, Montevideo, Uruguay
alternatively, something you can mount on special backets on the door of your camper?
that would also have no legs, the doors could be opened when the table is in use (even when stuff is on it!)
And you wouldn't need to add those "extensions" so you can raise/lower it, which would probably increase stability.
That's a really clever design Laura, and beautifully made, as always 👏🏻
The table is beautiful. Suggestion to stop the wobbling: attached a metal plate to bottom of table, then bolt the arms to the metal plate and table. The wood oil looks interesting. It enhances the grain and brings out the natural color of the wood. I hope to find it here in Canada.
Very NICE!!, that table is perfect, I see that the heavy part is the hitch ball adapter, I have seen a bicycle ball adapter and it is simpler and lighter, perhaps that could make it lighter
Awesome concept! Nice idea Laura
Hello Laura beautiful table good job
Beautiful table. 🌟 Sending love and light to all Europeans suffering from the floods.
i always love your mindset in creating things. also love your choice of music.
Amazing. You are very talented.
Wow...the shop!!!!.....Wow your skill...
Super Table idea
Next project idea: a bicycle trailer with storage but also turns into a camping table.
Yes! I love the Paul Elkins style bike trailers, that might be something for Laura as well.
😂I remember having an Ikea table with suchs slits. Glued in small strips of wood being fed-up with losing pens and other small items...
I think Koga Miyata make one, or they did once.
A bicycle trailer made from old bicycles that turns into a camping table!

Not sure if the link will work, but it's called the Koga Miyata Chela.
You are definitely onto something! Congrats!
That table is perfect. Love how the mount turned out.
I am excited, I found the wood care "Ballistol Scherell’s Gun Stock and Wood Care" that you use, At my local Canadian Tire!
Very nice idea and execution!
Also, I'm sure you already know this, but they also make countersunk carriage bolt.
Salutations from Romania!
Great idea. Simple, practical, smooth.
Wondering if it could be made to fold up flat against the back doors as well, maybe on some type of metal bar hitch. Therefore doing away with the necessity of removing it from off the hitch if you wanted to. Just an idea.
I was a bit worried about the height, but it looks like that turned out ok. Certainly looks like the most stable design so far. Thanks for sharing!
Very good Idea, but unfortunatly it takes a Lot of space to pack it in a campervan.
This makes me glad my CRV has a built in camping table!
I want this camping table! You should absolutely put it in production 😍
Laura, thanks for the great video. Some of my tools are Festool, and if I could afford it my whole shop would be populated with Festool products. Your innovation and experimentation are commendable.
The Legless table! They said it couldn't be done.....Laura on the metal making OP camping furniture!
I like that it stays level when you lower it, theoretically you don't have to take stuff off when you want to open the door... but I don't know if it comes down low enough. You'd still probably knock your beers over...
Super cool idea. I really like it.
BTW. I'm watching too many woodworking videos. Proof: I read the title as "very clever clamping table".
Well done... quite impressive
Very cool! I wonder if switching to aluminum instead of steel would take care of the weight issue.
It most definitely would !
Very cool! I was thinking that the door clearance position would be in the opposite direction. That way you could make the pivoting parts longer for a higher table.
always loved your creativity, nice one.
Bravo, Laura!! Gut gelöst.
Excellent Laura ☺️
