    I'm always looking forward for new content on your channel Matt. Very well explained and demonstrated as always. If I lived by your facility, I would never go home! From the looks of your walls, things are going well for you, which is deserving of someone like yourself. As always, my best to you and the future of Golf Liberty.

    Something I struggle with and really glad to see some benefits from change as well as a few really relateable/practical ways to remedy it myself unlike many other tips/examples that don't apply to what I tend to do. Thank you good sir (as always).

    Handle dragging is generally created from too much force pushing across the shaft; this was theorized a long time ago and now measured/calculated by Michael Jacobs and Jacobs 3D. A good drill to feel less force across the shaft and more "free release" are lead arm only pitches and chip shots with like a PW as the lowest lofted club. Gap, sand, lob work well too.

    I struggle with this. Its great to do with full wedges and short irons but it KILLS my long clubs. I did fix my chipping after years of stubs by learning to use the bounce effectively. Will definitely give this a shot.

    This video is for me it was always my issue with driver after a few injuries i had to spend almost a whole season forcing a release early to get it

  • @AnotherLostBall

    I really struggle with this on full swings with short irons. It’s fine with 5/6/7 irons and hybrids/driver. But on full swings with 8/9/pw I push my lead arm forward and slice my shot. I’ll be trying your tips. 🤞

    Another feel I’ve heard, is feel like you’re using your lead tricep in the downswing. I think this blends perfectly with the elbow feel in this video and makes for stable arm structure.

    Hi Matt, if you reflect on your time with Shawn C wonder if the throwing tasks for example can help the average golfer quite a bit with the lead arm release. Do you use similar tasks with your students much?

  • @steveperry1344
    @steveperry1344 18 часов назад

    i always wondered if the action of the lead arm that you are showing is more of a result of the the right arm straightening and making the club and arm turn over.

  • @viewsfromthepit

    This is my exact issue. With irons I can compensate but my ball flight is really low. With driver, I can't get the face closed and I block hard to the right. Going to try this.

    just curious matt, if you look at scottie and brysons swing, it looks like they dont release the club fully with the elbow of the lead hand supinating, whats your thoughts on their release pattern?

  • @jakeallen476
    @jakeallen476 День назад

    The old videos with you and Larry do you find if you release your angles quicker you still need to work on lead arm supination?

  • @jakephelps4766
    @jakephelps4766 День назад

    Good stuff! Has there ever been any intention on reducing the axis tilt away from the target coming down? I know you mentioned some difficulty with dynamic loft in a recent video too. It seems like the handle drag and lead arm staying in more internal rotation through the follow through is more of a compensation in trying not to hit over draws due to lateral motion of pelvis toward the target/trail side bend tilting the upper body back, lack of pelvis rotation through impact? Or am I completely off base? To me, it would make sense that with the seemingly greater amount of tilt of upper axis away from target in the downswing that 'handle drag' would be needed to get low point forward to not hit it fat. Regardless, Ian is great and I really like his teaching as well.

      will need to work on my rotation as well for sure, a lot of extension and pull back with my rib cage in the backswing puts me in a difficult spot in the downswing
