@@coconuttree5045 Not saying he lobbied for Ferrari to fire Seb. But despite all the "liking Seb", the pair created so much more tension than Seb and Kimi did. Just to mention a few: Monza (qualifying), Singapore, Russia, Brazil. The moment Leclerc came to Ferrari, he had the attitude of "my team" because Ferrari raised him to be their future number 1. And this ultimately left Ferrari with no option to keep Seb. No idea why they are not playing that #1 card to the fullest now (Silverstone, *cough*).
Plot twist: Alonso was under pressure and therefore said he wanted to kill the mclaren tires as a double bluff wanting mclaren to hear it and back off.
Leclerc must be hurting so much right now, the pain in that radio was palpable and he’s always so hard on himself. Can’t see how Verstappen doesn’t win the title now, beat in the field with one of the best cars and a team that thrives on pressure like he does
This was Perez's worst grand Prix it was like he had no confidence in the car or the setup what happened to him. Canada was bad, Austria was worse, French was shit
Yep. First he gets caught napping at the start and then for the first 5 6 laps, when the merc is even slower than usual because of slow tyre warm up and lewis had no slipstream nor DRS from max upfront, how did checo not overtake lewis with a car substantially faster in the corners and about 40kph faster down the Mistral straight with the tow and DRS? Absolute comical scenes.
I smacked myself in the head involuntarily and then just said "Vettel, 2018, German GP" out loud. The way he smacked the steering wheel and the way that this single crash might be the final nail in the coffin for his championship hopes.
yep, i really don't see how Leclerc can catch Verstappen now. Verstappen is far too consistent, unless he has an issue he is always at the front and is most likely going to win. Similar to what Hamilton was for Vettel i guess lol
When Leclerc crashed I had the exact same reaction as Matt. Glad he's alright and hopefully he can pull back from it at Hungary. Also, whoever is calling the shots for Sainz needs to stop and let him drive, because they keep screwing him over!
The fact that Tommy didn't even hear the scream initially because he was on "onesie watch", but later in the stream suddenly completely lost it when - I think Katy ?- posted it, fantastic chaos.
The thing is it's kind of a snowball effect. Charles is clearly pushing as hard as physically possible in that car, mainly due to all the ground he has to make up from all the strategy blunders/reliability catastrophes that Ferrari have had this season. He could be well over 75 points better off if it wasn't for those problems, and perhaps push a bit less as a result of knowing risking a crash isn't worth it. I like that he's driving like this though, he's not here to pick up an easy 2nd, he knows he has to win, and if that means risking crashing then so be it, he doesn't really have any other options now.
Although you do have a point, I honestly don't think this mistake in particular was due to "pushing too hard". It was more like a miscalculation on adjusting his driving given the tyre wear at that point. I agree with you that technical issues on the races before have put more pressure on him, but I don't think this kind of error is directly related to that.
BTW: If Verstappen outscores Leclerc next Race then we are already at a point where Leclerc can not win the Championship on his own efforts anymore. EDIT: As was pointed out below: I totally forgot Sprint Races and Fastest Lap Points exist, my bad, so the gap needed in Hungary is actually 11 Points, without those it would have been 1. So for more Clarity as people apparently also don`t understand what I meant: Gap currently is 63 Points. If Leclerc Wins every Race with Fastest Lap including Sprint he can get a Maximum of 81 Points more then Verstappen. If Verstappen outscores Leclerc by 11 Points in Hungary (Verstappen 1st, Leclerc 4th with Fastest lap would be 12) the Gap would be 74 Points. With 9 Races left Leclerc would only be able to gain 73 Points more then Verstappen if both get maximum results with Leclerc always ahead. So the other Team or Driver has to fuck up somehow at that point, otherwise it`s not possible to win for Leclerc.
So if I follow correctly, Leclerc (coming in 2nd) would really need Verstappen to DNF a couple times while winning himself pretty much every race to the end of the year if he hopes to become WC. Pérez and everyone behind are even worse for wear. Literally Verstappen's championship to lose at this point.
@@dragonmagoz it means if Leclerc won every race and verstappen came second every race, verstappen would still win. If verstappen came third or worse in a couple of races, Leclerc could still win, no dnfs needed.
You mean if they keep switching P1/P2 between them. But we've seen last year how a DNF or two can change everything. Mind you, I don't think Ferrari will actually know what to do with a Max DNF.
My soul hurts. I don't care about this year's championship anymore. I just hope that Leclerc's spirit won't break beyond repair. I know he can do it, he has all the skills and remember that Hamilton also lost his first chance at the WDC back in 2007 and look where he's now. So I still have hope for the distant future.
Hamilton took it to the final race and it was a gearbox issue which cost him in the final race (yes that eff up in china was costly too). At this rate, max will have sewn up the championship before we even hit US grounds.
@@Achilles053 hardly possible unless RB runs into a lot of mechanical issues and Ferrari remains squeaky clean. Bigger chance of a Latifi win than that.
@@Achilles053 I literally do not care at this point. As I see it now, Max's gonna be the champion and he 100% deserves it, he drives and races like one. But like I said, I don't care. I just want him to be okay.
honestly Charles got played by max he burned up his rear tyres and then cracked under pressure while trying to make a gap to max and ofc the ferrari clownhouse back at again you'd think from a team thats been in the sport since the 1950s that they would know how to not screw up the race They will never learn.

Good on you to cover KMag's blistering start, but Stroll had a pretty fantastic start too. He made up more places than Alonso, got ahead of Seb and stayed there. B4 someone accuses me of being a Lance fanboy, I'm actually a Seb fanboy since his STR days.
LeClerec is facing same internal pressure which Vettel faced leading to driver errors. Both Sainz and LeClerec always keep questioning the strategy decisions and pit call timings race after race. Its as if they don't trust the strategy calls anymore. This was same case with Vettel , wherein he was making the strategy calls during last few years. It is already 2 mistakes from LeClerec this season , but 2 very costly ones which has led him to be behind Max by 63 points. The main thing at Ferrari is Mattia is not in championship winning mode at all. He keeps saying that goalpost for Ferrari internally was to be competitive and come back to race winning in 2022 and not to win championship. Mattia also says it is not fair for team members if they decide to change the goal post middle of the year. It is as if Ferrari management team is happy to finish 2022 behind RedBull as long as they keep winning races . However LeClerec is always thinking in terms of how to win championship. This is totally contradicting Mattia. Look how cool Mattia is in post race interviews. As if there is absolutely no seriousness about winning championship and how all these points matter at the end.
The plans are probably a lot more simple than Matt is thinking. I assume something like plan a is the original pit stop window, but plan D or E could be plus 4-5 laps on their original plan. On the topic of Tv direction - what KMag? Kev went from p20 to p13 in the first lap lol and I don’t think they showed a single one. There was even commentary on KMag passing albon but it was being based off the timing sheet lol

I bet Matt’s and Charles’s scream was indeed simultaneously 😂
Almost the same scream too 😂😂😂
As a Vettel fan I'm genuinely worried that Charles is gonna have to suffer in the same way
I don’t think he will but you never know. Vettel had a target on his back by the British media but Charles is a darling no matter what.
As a vettel fan, i feel bad for leclerc fans now having their own version of our Germany 2018
@@fkez0510 Yep, but I don't feel bad for them. Leclerc played a major role in Seb leaving Ferrari, so he now has to live with all the **** this team is throwing at him.
@@canis_lupus2220 No he didn't he liked seb and it was surely ferrari's idea
Can’t see how Verstappen doesn’t win the title now, beat in the field with one of the best cars and a team that thrives on pressure like he does
6:21 Matt's reaction is the most heartbreaking yet funniest thing I've seen this year, lmao.
From the gasp to the blank stare and then the SCREAM
We need an edit with Fortunate son in the backround.
Thats an vietnam class 1000 Yard stare
This was Perez's worst grand Prix it was like he had no confidence in the car or the setup what happened to him. Canada was bad, Austria was worse, French was shit
I think he needs more confidence over the summer break and he could be back in the championship
He drove like crap, got humiliated by two cars that are half a second slower a lap and 13kph slower on the straights
The car seems to suit Max more than Checo. Seems like he has lost confidence in the car.
My dude flat out got caught napping on that VSC that was a pure yikes moment hope he can get it together because he really talented
Plus it was right before summer break same as vettel 2018. Only had Hungary left before summer break.
@@tobiaslumplecker7666 Was it really that early on in the season aswell?
yep, i really don't see how Leclerc can catch Verstappen now. Verstappen is far too consistent, unless he has an issue he is always at the front and is most likely going to win. Similar to what Hamilton was for Vettel i guess lol
@@victorpersson02 yes it was, sadly. Vettel lost his confidence after Germany and then it was pretty much downhill
When Leclerc crashed I had the exact same reaction as Matt. Glad he's alright and hopefully he can pull back from it at Hungary. Also, whoever is calling the shots for Sainz needs to stop and let him drive, because they keep screwing him over!
It wasn't a particularly hard crash. Clearly it messed something up, but the car wasn't completely broken
The fact that Tommy didn't even hear the scream initially because he was on "onesie watch", but later in the stream suddenly completely lost it when - I think Katy ?- posted it, fantastic chaos.
It's unbelievable how close Matt´s reaction was to Leclercs actual reaction on the radio. They may be equally passionate😉
Aren't we gonna mention that Charles jumped the ship before Ferrari (Imola)?
So for more Clarity as people apparently also don`t understand what I meant:
Gap currently is 63 Points.
That is true, but only if Verstappen outscores Leclerc by at least 11 points
So if I follow correctly, Leclerc (coming in 2nd) would really need Verstappen to DNF a couple times while winning himself pretty much every race to the end of the year if he hopes to become WC. Pérez and everyone behind are even worse for wear. Literally Verstappen's championship to lose at this point.
@@dragonmagoz If he doesn't face any reliability issues I think he already won the championship.
Leclerc is his greatest enemy! Ferrari is number 2
@@peeturpain9379 I really hope it goes to the last race
@@Achilles053 hardly possible unless RB runs into a lot of mechanical issues and Ferrari remains squeaky clean. Bigger chance of a Latifi win than that.
@@Achilles053 I literally do not care at this point. As I see it now, Max's gonna be the champion and he 100% deserves it, he drives and races like one.
I just want Leclerc to be okay mentally and pull himself back together for next year. This year's over for him in terms of the championship, he can still win a few races, but that's it. But like I said, I don't care. I just want him to be okay.
honestly Charles got played by max
he burned up his rear tyres and then cracked under pressure while trying to make a gap to max
and ofc the ferrari clownhouse back at again
you'd think from a team thats been in the sport since the 1950s that they would know how to not screw up the race
They will never learn.
Swing? There was only one swing, that’s was when Max took over the lead in the championship.
Not gonna lie, I just feel sorry for Matt at this point, he don’t deserve this disappointment in life🤣🙏🏽
Who else is here to see how Matt’s doing post Leclerc getting Ferrari’d?
He admitted he put himself in the wall though 🤔
He put it in the wall himself. There was no throttle issue.
I'm a Verstappen fan but from now on I'll be cheering Leclerc so this amazing battle doesn't end so early

The Paul Ricard is so overhated I swear… It’s a great track, that offered us good racing and good overtakes last year and this year, you can literally overtake in first sector, second and third. Nah dude stope hating this track just to think like « everybody »
Why does it seem like every time something bad happens to leclerc and/or Ferrari Matt gets race rundown perfect?
Tbh the biggest decision I didn’t get is why pit Carlos the first time. Like let him get track position if you know the M won’t make it til the end. Like why pit him when he’s on the hards when Leclerc crashes
. You know the Ms aren’t making it 30 laps
. And then you pit by yourself avoid the penalty and everything
Might as well get up to like 3rd and then try to separate as much as possible before a first stop lol

everytime I see a radio from Ferrari or just a random pan of camera to ferrari, my heart stops. I'll probably die from this
TV Direction: Carlos made it to P11 before we saw him pass someone. Russell got around Alonso, only the board told us.
Instead, we got to watch Max pressure Leclerc, which was interesting, but…
Dude, I was laughing out loud so many times. Your live reaction is just spot on. Thank you for making my evening.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: Matt, it's your show, you are the host, you make the content, and there are tons of Ferrari fans out there, but please, tune down JUST A BIT the Ferrari whine in races like this, we get it, you are sad becouse the racer you are passionate had a bad race (races), but 90% of those episodes is you crying for Ferrari (Leclerc), and is getting boring. I love you, dude, is just, is getting old and I would like to see more diversified memes from the other teams and a tiny bit more 'professional' take on the races instead of just your personal sadness or rants. Thank you, please don't take it the wrong way.
At this point, Ferrari have to stop trying to fight Res Bull and start worrying about Mercedes. Merc is closer in points rn than rb
I don't think Ferrari had that many plans (plan A, plan E, plan L...). They probably try to give some kind of meaning to the letters, such as plan E for "(fuel) economy" or something like that.
Hey Matt i hope u can last till the end of the season man, cause i dont know whats going to happen to me if i see another Ferrari blunder race.

I had flashbacks from Saturday when he got pole.
Sainz getting P5 from the back of the grid was a very impressive performance.
If it wasn’t for Ferrari strategist , he could have finished on the podium or at least 4th
Good on you to cover KMag's blistering start, but Stroll had a pretty fantastic start too. He made up more places than Alonso, got ahead of Seb and stayed there.
Edit: That move from Stroll was a standard affair. Seb said he was surprised, but it wasn't even close to being illegal or dangerous. B4 someone accuses me of being a Lance fanboy, I'm actually a Seb fanboy since his STR days.
Grace’s onesie is the real star of today
Ofcourse, but why throw around these stupid plan codes. Just do like Merc and redbull and speak certain sentences and then everyone knows what is on.

Grats to Max on the WDC a very consistent performance. Charles gave it a go but this mistake is the final nail in the coffin i think
Not by a long shot. Even if just Ferrari will be as fast as they now seem they can take 10-11 points out of Max every race. And that is without Max/redbull making any mistakes.
