Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I feel like with these kinds of challenges you should not be able to respawn right next to them after your suicide attempt, as it makes it super op to just keep suiciding over and over. I feel like a way to balance it, would be to require you to fly say 100m away from the target before respawning your vehicle, as a way to balance things out and give the player being hunted some time to get their bearings.

Yeah, you are practically spawning inside the defender after first hit.
Either safety distance or possibly something like 5-10second delay before you are allowed to spawn again. would force defender to move again instead of possibly finding an camping spot.
Another thing is just making them pure ramming, like destruction derby.
Respawn back on the spawn point would be a good way to control it, then they could still get cheeky shots in if the OP driver isnt paying attention to where they are
Or turn of invincibility, which is a setting option

I'm honestly baffled, cause there will also be slight audio delay between them yet it came out perfectly.
I agree with that one comment asking for limitations on respawning, sometimes repairing and respawning right next to the survivor vehicle gets pretty unfair.
I'd say a distance limit or time limit before the next respawn is a great idea.
I think the easiest way is to make the cars always respawn at the tunnel. That way the cars have to be able to drive reasonably well as well as blow up.
Well you've done land and sea... Next is air? Maybe build a plane and a detachable section for a human guided missile that falls away and you can aim for a blimp or something?

an interesting twist to those "duel" gamemodes would be a limited respawn for the attackers.

You could make a plane with only gimbals because you could just fly straight up and glide in whatever direction

Hover vehicle of some kind just above the water (maybe 5 or 10 meters above the water), and jumping submarines with explosives that can jump up into the hover vehicle to blow it up. That is my suggestion :)

Me after listening to the instructions: So I guess it would make sense to have a retractable shield that covers the TNT so it doesn't get blown up easily as I get closer.
Scrapman: I'm gonna build a sick roll care that leaves my character exposed in the center of mass.

You should try and break the sound barrier while wallriding (not on the centerfuge, but the edge of the test zone)
Video idea?: planes with no weapons other than 2 dynamite you choose the block limit vs a fully armed battle ship.
Goal:the planes must crash into the battle ship, and it must me triggered base so no sensor and setting the dynamite's controls to nothing or to a button you won't press
Basically just kamikaze planes to a battle ship

I like the idea of the original tank vs the cars. I feel when the cars detonate or get blown up they should have a designated starting point rather than repairing right next to the tank and going again. It makes it pointless to blow them up if they repair right next to the tank and go again.
I agree, maybe they should use backspace to go to the spawn point instead?
I've had an idea boiling I'd love to see. Team challenge where each team creates and controls a craft to strike a ball. The ball unfolds to become a glider to attempt furthest distance. Both objects being separate crafts created and controlled by each team mate. I believe mitigating the impact of the strike would be the most difficult part but I'm sure there must be a solution to that.

Explosive planes versus blimp!
I think this would be better compared to planes vs boat since the kamikaze topic could be sensitive.
I wish the mulligan rules were setup fore hand, like "if its under 30 seconds you can do it again" rather than arbitrary because it hurts the stakes/competitiveness
Sometimes you have to focus on having fun instead of having a fair competition.
It wasn't setup beforehand, but it wasn't arbitrary. If the first explosion takes you out, reset. Not that hard.

@@vosechu If a competition constantly has changing rules, that diminishes much of the fun to me. I don't think its fair to dismiss that opinion.
That is to say, I can see how you feel that way, but I think my stance is valid too.
Video suggestion: Scrapman and Yzuei both make ships that go 50 km/h and they have a stock airplane with a torpedo that can track stuff using sensors. The torp goes about 75 km/h and explodes using a sensor at 0.1 meters distance. Also the torp propeller gets stopped after 30 seconds. There can be a maximum of 3 torps chasing the ship at one time and the ship needs to try to manoeuvre around so that the torps lose track of it. And once the ship cannot move or the player gets kicked out of the seat the timer is stopped. They both play as the ship 2 times and the person with the highest total time overall wins.

Video Idea: Low Gravity Explosive Car Chase
Similar to this video but with low gravity on hilly terrain, maybe Duna in the space map or the Airborne map dunes with custom gravity. Instead of weaponizing the slow car that is being chased, it is allowed to use downforce (through lift and drag pieces or maybe through thrusters) giving it much more control in the low gravity. The explosive cars would be limited to engine/wheel power only and not allowed any of the parts in the lift and drag category for downforce, but would have higher top speed.
You haven't done any snow themed challenges for a while now. How about small snow mobiles against an over powered bunker/base or the old Antarctic Snow Cruiser mobile base, but an overpowered and armed version.

How about human guided glide-bombs vs a tank? Thrust-less gliders with dynamite on the front have to glide into a tank to destroy it. Person who survives longest in the tank wins.

At first I thought you were going to take the explosives out of the little cars and do pure melee, but the overpowered tank was fun to see.

If you're looking for a new overpowered tank design, might I suggest basing it off the ratta or the monster. Though they were never finished or built respectively, there should be some images of them online if I remember correctly.

I would say revamp it for various kinds of "terrain" coverage. So you have air, sea, and tires, you could do balloons, submarine, space, in atmosphere rockets, hoverpads, and even ski based vehicles.
scrap should try to make a vehicle using no seat maneuvers and it cannot touch the ground but thrusters are allowed but the thrusters cannot be manually controlled.

It's clear from all these missile videos that a faster defending vehicle is better. The nature of trailmaker physics means armor does very little against dynamite, so it's more interesting when the defender is fast enough to actually dodge the missiles
You could play explosive tag with your bomb trucks. You have to detonate your bomb to tag someone else and while you're "it" you get to use additional power cores like the catchup mechanic you had in the pod racer episode.
What about drones with tank cannons? Im sure that would be fun to work with

Should try using drones to fly them into a stationary target. Win is how long you can last defending yourself from the drones as the stationary target. Could be cool to see some remote-controlled drones flying in from the air and divebombing things lol
You should try some kind of 3 or 4 person game similar to "Bumper Balloons" from Mario Party, or maybe like the kids game "Tails" where you could set up a mechanism on the backs of each person's car that detaches when it gets grabbed by a magnet block, or triggers a dynamite or something, so the goal would be to get behind the other people and grab their tail/balloon. A fun twist on this could be that everyone has to use walkers, or only hover pads, or something to make the handling of the vehicles clunky and chaotic so it's not too hard to get behind the other people. Obviously tank steering is difficult to get behind, although the cars in the mario party game can turn on the spot, they're just very slow to do so
Maybe play it on a survival world so you could use a scrap ball as the tail, have it lay in a slot on peoples' cars and a magnet can pull it out of the slot to get the point for the person/team

That last round reminded me of the time you did dynamite jousting using airplanes. Has there been an episode of land vehicle jousting yet? That could be cool.

10:30 Perhapskis I got the solution... the tank should not have auto aim, the cannon must be controlled with mice. This way, a shot can be grantee to hit one of the enemies. (making the tank double barreled (shooting separately.) should also be an option to increase the rate of fire.)

How about a speed challenge? A vehicle is stuffed with explosives that will go off if you drop below a certain speed. Other players need to ram the vehicle to reduce the speed to the point where it explodes.

Do a similar thing, but put a few pieces TNT in or near places like the engines. Make the tanks use bullet based weapons and dont tell each other where the TNT is.
Using a smart gun might make it near impossible to aim at the TNT.
Whilst a regular cannon might make it hard to hit your target at all.
Alowing for some strategy to be used in weapon choice.
Maybe next time kamikaze planes vs a slightly overpowered blimp. :)
You should go first far more often in these battles; you have the most trailmakers and battle hours probably and the first battle is often the shortest, so that balances it out a little bit.
Hovercraft ramming with dynamite would be cool to see
This teminded me of the current event in Crossout. Starts out as a 10v2, the 2 gotta drive into the 10, while the 10 can shoot at the 2 like crazy. But when the 2 manage to hit one of the 10, that person joins the 2. This continues until no one of the original 10 is left or at least one of them can escape
Plane demo derby would be awesome to see.
a challenge would be to have say a max complexity creation and when x amount of blocks are taken off you have to switch to a different medium for example if you were a plane after x amount of blocks were taken off u have to switch to a boat or car.
This is my RCXD suggestion, pretty cool.
Planes! Hover tanks! Submarines! Form vs function of all variations! Tanks with wings or planes with rotating turrets on top or bottom! Hover tanks with rocket boosters and wings! TNT - a - pults! Spacecrafts! Tanks in space! A bunch of very stupid ideas I know, but sometimes stupid fails can be funny. Bomb drones!

You should do the same challenge but with more build for the cars to take more damage and do like a Mario cart type chalange where you have 3 lives

ahhh yes the Jihad jeeps i used to love that on that map with the train line in the middle that an caspian boarder ... was a solid tactic to make enemy tanks so paranoid

What about doing this again but instead of the dynamite being on the front of the car it's on the back and you have to drop it like a mine layer. Might then allow for the cars to be able to drop more "mines" before needing to repair. Maybe have the 100 block limit not include the mine layer but allow and additional say 50 blocks for this.
No xensors to trigger the bomb, but you cold put the bomb on a piston and hide it between some wedges so it is protected from shooting or unwanted impacts

Really dislike repairing on the spot if the point of adding extra rules or saying oh thats was just a test because the video will be too short.
Just make a rule where you need to go back to the spawn point makes more sense to me that way.

What you could do is human guided missiles against an anti air vehicle. Or a glider vehicle. Or even use really low gravity. So the missiles would need to be pretty accurate. Every time you die just respawn on the big hill
I thought of an interesting challenge. What about a human guided torpedo versus a low flying airplane with an altitude sensor preventing it from going higher. So, the torpedoes need to jump out of the water to hit the airplane.

You can do another orbital video but instead of being on land u are on a boat. No reusing the same orbital cannon though, so instead of building a boat it would be an orbital cannon. One premade OP boat
