Many years ago. I'm 80 now. I had the pleasure of dining with Lee and brother George in the great showman's palatial digs south of Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas. The world is a lesser place without Liberace.
Hello Madam or Mister, you are right in your comment, I cannot imagine a World without such an Artist, he is a Genius. My wife and I (72 years old) have just discovered it and we are amazed to see and listen to such a talent. With all our respect. Patrick and Josiane from Belgium Europe. God bless you.
I believe this segment is from the "Hotel" TV series of the early 80's. The couple seated at the table are actor/dancer/singer - Donald O'Connor and actress Margaret O'Brien. The young man introducing Liberace is Cary James.
Liberace - thank you, you have enriched my life - in a world that seems to have lost it's way - he will always remain as, not only a unique and brilliantly talented performer, but for those of us who saw the man behind the performer - a man of kindness, a gentle man and a man who loved his fans - wish he could come back to entertain us - never forgotten.
He is my favorite pianist in the pop genre. Very sensitive artist whose hands were magical - he could play 6,000 notes a minute! No one could do that but him. It was in the Guinness Book.....Growing up I tried to be like him at the piano, but only caused chuckles.."Ah,another Liberace!" heheh...still a lot of fun. His arrangements still delight me.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Liberace wished to be remembered for the man he was and the talent he was - Lee your wishes will always be granted by those who will always love, admire and respect him. May I wish his many fans a very happy, healthy and safe 2013 - especially you Mr. Superscope96. xx
Today is my 77th birthday ..n I would like to play some very soothing n relaxing instrumental music ..Favourites of mine over the years....n with those closet to my heart .....n Tnk U ....
The first time I heard Liberace play this song, it made me cry because it was so beautiful. This is my favorite song of all time. There is a pianist on RUclips who plays pretty much as well as Liberace. His name is Allen Dale 1962. Listen to him sometime. He is amazing! He doesnt read music; he plays from memory.
@piznair3000 Funny, I immediately recognized Carey James too! Sad, isn't it, that they're both gone. Liberace would have hated me, because I would have wanted him to constantly play for me. They only thing better than a concert grand piano is a person who can play it, well, and it could! Oh, how he could play!
Anyone notice the first eight notes he plays are the same eight notes from "Close Encounters of the third kind" When the mother ship was communicating with us humans?
Dear Tatiana - Unfortunately I am not familiar with Spanish but I am sure your comment is a lovely, positive one regarding Liberace. I hope he brings as much into your life as he has, and will continue to bring into mine. Anne.
Okay thank you for clearing that up but they do sound similar. But man, could he play the piano. Can't wait to see Elton John's tribute at the Emmys on 9-22-13

Wow! what a story to tell!
You were very fortunate to have such an experience ! Must have been amazing . I'm sure you're the envy of many of us !!
If musician is about bringing happiness to others. He is a real musician...
Liberace knew chords inside and out. Plus, his pinky finger in his right hand has more talent than ANY of our present "superstars".
Notice the husband of the couple is Donald O'Connor!
This song always touches me, no matter if it's played by Liberace, Julie London, or Sam from Casablanca. Such a great song and beautiful words!
I love Dooley Wilson and Liberace, but Julie London's whispering, I can do without!
No one else could play this fine wearing several ounces of gold on their fingers!
Liberace.. It doesn't get any better.. and it never will!

6000 notes in a minute? You are exaggerating?
@@fluffyhead6377 Indeed; that'd be 60 notes in a second; likely even AI, Artificial Intelligence cannot, nor a piano technically do that.

beautiful absolutely beautiful, you are still missed Mr. Liberace

Liberace que Maravilha. Que esplendor
Superb. Played the piano without reading the music
Un genio, gran concertista. Una melodia inolvidable. Gracias por compartir.
No its not, its the chimes of a clock before it strikes the hour like big ben in london. The CE3K was only 5 notes.
Wow! I'd give my right arm to be able to play like that. What's that you say. Don't be silly. Oh, alright then both arms.

Actually this was from the movie "Hotel" with Donald O'Connor and Margaret O'Brian
So wonderful.
This is from the show The Hotel in 1983
maravillosa interpretacion
Lee, forever
A famous actor, Mr. O'Conner with the actress whose name escapes me, are the couple as audience. Thanks for sharing your music Mr. Liberace.
The sound of the clock at the beginning has a special effect.
Anyone notice the first eight notes he plays are the same eight notes from "Close Encounters of the third kind" When the mother ship was communicating with us humans?
No, it is "Westminster Chimes" from the famous clock tower, a reference to the passing of "Time", as fits the title of the song.
Awesome!!
greatest of the greats.I agree with you,Pedrito. My favorite song,My pianist!
He could play that piano!

I was waiting forever for him to start singing :P
Donald o connect... fab dancer... nice one Lee x
@kboss2011 Yes, it was a private performance....a surprise for that couple
The woman in the couple is actress Margaret O'Brien.
I think that's the best version I ever heard of that
What year is this from
He looks a little older here
Her outfit was hideous
To feqqet - This is actually a scene from the old TV series "Hotel" and the couple is Donald O'Connor & Margaret O'Brien (in her later years)...
No matter, few or many, flawless performance.
It was in the early 80's
Estoy de acuerdo con cada una de sus palabras.Ojalá se pudiera retroceder el tiempo y volverlo a tener.
Mi música y tema preferido!🎶🎹🩷
