This game. What a beautiful, heart-wrenching journey. Always been a quiet fan of Star Wars and the Jedi series is an incredible adventure so far-- kudos to all the developers, writers, artists, and actors involved.

3:10 when the 9th sister started talking, perfection. She was foreshadowing the story so well.
Jedi Survivor made Cal Kestis my favourite character in all of Star Wars. He was already in the top after the first game but this added so much.
It should have been called Jedi: Betrayal instead
@@_GalKestis_No because everybody one way or another were survivors. Cal, Merrin, Greez, All the people in the Cantina and Koboh, definitely Cere and Vader. Dagan was a survivor along with Bode also. A couple of survivors who are trying to "survive" during the time of the empire. A tyrranical institution who tries to survive all the others and always remain on top. A vicious cycle. Simple, but perfect. Perfect choice.

Fair points, Survivor fits well. Betrayal was a running theme of course, but, Surviving was something they were all doing to its fullest.

Wonder if they'll keep him in the games, or if they'll make references to him in the rest of the live-action Canon.
All fun and games till he pops up in a series or movie but they botch his character up.
I think the theme of Jedi: Survivor is betrayal
Dagan Jera felt betrayed by Santara Khri and the Council
Cordova said he felt a little betrayed by the Council because they didn't believe him sensing the Jedi Order falling which resulted in him leaving
Cal felt a bit betrayed when Greez, Merrin and Cere left as he thought they gave up on the fight against the Empire
And of course Bode Akuna, who was a spy for the Empire and was responsible for the death of Cals crew, Cordova, Darth Vader invading Jedha and killing Cere, and betraying Cals trust
Well said this game is such a masterpiece 10/10 in my book
It can be both. Two central themes I picked out from the story were *betrayal* from loved/trusted ones and holding onto/letting go of *fear.*
Fear is what motivated and caused those betrayals, or perceived betrayal.
Dagan and Cal were afraid of letting go, and Bode was afraid for the safety of his daughter and himself. All have in in common a consuming fear of loss, a central theme of Star Wars.
The importance of acknowledging and overcoming fear is the core moral story of Star Wars from a New Hope to Jedi: Survivor.
near every calamity in Star Wars can be traced back to people being controlled by fear, as can many in our real history.
It's an important emotion to have, but it can blind us and then it will lead us if we let it.

Incredible work, smooth transitions and greatly constructed around Cal’s doubts.
Bode’s line of “this is my best friend” while initially seems like a coverup for Kata, has some truth in it. Going back and listening to echoes of Bode on Koboh, he was talking to himself and saying that he would try to convince Cal and give him another chance again before Jedha. Really shows how Bode was willing to align with Cal and go to Tanalorr with him, and that at least some of the bond they formed was real, but when Cal’s plans deviated with his, he made the only choice he figured would be best for Kata.
Oh yeah, Bode was on board with the Mantis crew coming with him and Kata at first, but after hearing the Hidden Path would also heading to Tanalorr, Bode threw Cal under the bus, so to speak.

I think the only that would've made this hit even more is including the end game line from Cere when she tells Cal "Help her with her darkness" referring to Kata
2:27 When Dagan started this speech and you edited all the scenes with it I knew where this was going and I got chills up my spine! Too weak, and then he ends up using it anyway, so well edited!!
I think it's important to acknowledge that despite what Bode did, despite the pain he caused Cal, Merrin, and Greez, they still gave him an honorable Jedi funeral. I also think it's important that Cal only killed him because he was given no other choice.
Everyone has their own priorities. They all have lines they won't cross until things get too desperate. Bode gave Cal a simple choice in his last moments when he chose to attack Cal instead of surrendering. The choice was to save Merrin or spare Bode. Cere, Merrin and Greez mean as much to Cal as Kata does to Bode.
There's no question who Cal would choose. But that doesn't make him a bad person or even suggest he's given himself to the dark side. It just means he's like everyone else. He's got the same doubts and fears that everyone does pre-rebellion.
Remember, the Rebel Alliance doesn't declare all out war on the Empire or have a major victory under their belt for *9 more years.* So for now, the Empire seems untouchable. Everyone is just saving who matters to them, everyone else be damned.
Cal despite it all could understand Bode and thats why He respected him and even tried to give him a second Chance after all He did they were still brothers in arms and Bode even called him his best friend when he introduced him to Kata
That “I’m scared” at the end has grown my concerns. We all love Cal, and I hate to break it to us all but i don’t think the next Jedi game will have a happy ending..
Nah I think it will be relatively happy. I mean like this ending was already bad enough I don’t think 3 will be this bad so, and least relatively happier 😅😂

I feel like Cal will fully lose himself to the dark side. Maybe he will have a moment of redemption where he sacrifices himself for others as he realizes what he has become. I do strongly feel like Cal will make an appearance in Live action, though this is starting to make me think that he shows up as a Sith. I feel fairly strongly that Marrok is Starkiller, but the idea that he could potentially be Cal does always come to me. I doubt it, though. They haven't shown him fully succumb to the darkness yet.

Depends. Sam Witwer has voiced dark side characters all the time, who knows if we'll ever see Marrok's face, or if Sam will truly be Starkiller here.
As for it being Cal, perhaps. But, he doesn't have any indication of joining the Inquisitorious anytime soon (he's attacked and slain them more than anything) and this is after the Empire's fall.
But perhaps, we'll just have to wait and see. So, Starkiller/Cal/Ezra, these are the theoretical people it could be. (Assuming its someone we know)

Cal became one of my favorite Star Wars characters ever. I honestly hope that in the 3rd game he gets his happy ending. Maybe have him battle Vader to a stand still or at least long enough for others to escape, and him escaping to live his life with Merrin and Kata.
Reason I do not want to see Vader lose is because it feels like he barely wins, or loses to much in recent years. I know Disney, they chase crowds that do not care for their product, while doing everything they can to anger the people that love Disney franchises.
the only real reason cere lasted as long as she did against vader is because vader was still a tad weakened from his 2nd defeat from obi wan kenobi, had it been any time before that vader wouldve killed her much faster, im thinking cal would meet the same fate if he was to fight vader.
Personally ik it probs wont happen but what if cal just dies yk? maybe the true ending of the third game you have an option to play the last mission which ends in calls death (They'd have a screen making sure you are ready and to get anything else you want done before doing the mission) It'd have a beginning middle and end to his story as well as opening up posiblitys for Merrin and maybe luke could train her in the ways of the jedi and finish what cal started with her

I think the third game should be called Jedi: New order
In my opinion it should be based after ROTJ and Cal is a Jedi Master in Luke's new order
I think it's more likely to be called Jedi Legacy and Cal will be training Kata as a Padawan

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!
Bode "life is precious, and so is happiness" also Bode *shoots Cordova* calls not just the Empire, not just inquisitors, but Vader himself, and his excuse is he's a father who's all out of options. The only thing that makes sense is the fact that he's scared of what the Empire can do. Kata definitely didn't want to spend the rest of her life alone on that planet with her dad until he died, that's not having a life, that's being given continued existence, one that isn't interesting, or worth the sacrifice of all the lives lost from Jedah, and anyone else Bode screwed over because he's a "father". His actions would be justified if he was going through an army of empire troops to save his daughter like some lightsaber wielding John Wick, instead he helped eradicate what's left of the Jedi history (that cere had at least), and kill two knowledgeable Jedi, plus to many ?robe people?
