It amuses me how the language disclaimer at the start of this book is basicaly living proof of the correctness of Howards main point in Conan. Howard: "Cultures can become decadent, and too much civilization makes people weak." People at the time: "Okay lol, whatever you say 🙄." People 50 years later: "Words! Deadly words, heeeeeeeelp!"
