    Perturbator, Gost, We Are Magonia, Dance with the Dead, there are a lot of great artist on the dark synth wave scene. There are even more synth wave artist that are just phenomenal and I think more people need to explore the insane amount of great artist in the genre. Carpenter Brut was my first introduction and by far my favorite, plus his music videos are insane.

      Yeah, the live album is absolutely perfect. It even sounds better than the original songs on their original album. It’s probably the added, funky guitar parts. The live album should win a Grammy as far as I am concerned. Hell, the cover of “Maniac” deserves at least 50 awards. That cover is addicting as hell.

    Beast is a good neighbour. He invited us over to watch the opening match of the RWC and served a wicked vegan ragu complemented with a 2019 vintage Château Latour sauvignon blanc. • @j_freed
      @j_freed 10 месяцев назад

      I can recall it too, even sing it and I am not a (good) singer nor do I have perfect pitch.
      It comes with developing an ear for music which on guitar is often in the same few keys. Playing an instrument like guitar helps, as does taking apart songs structurally in one's mind.

    • @ZuzuTheLemon

    • @ZuzuTheLemon
      @ZuzuTheLemon 10 месяцев назад

      @@noggintube That's not quite what we're talking about here. We mean being able to land on a particular pitch perfectly without prior reference. The genre in that circumstance is irrelevant, it's just about pitch memory and recall. Some people with perfect pitch can do it naturally but most people can get proficient with practice. Like any other skill, it's hard until you can do it!

    • @ZuzuTheLemon
      @ZuzuTheLemon 10 месяцев назад

      @@noggintube As I said, it's hard until it isn't. To most people doing something 'over and over for years' would constitute a pretty significant amount of practice. Any skill is 'easy' if you break it down, it's the staying power required to practice which is hard, unless you particularly enjoy it.

    I'm digging this track. It reminds me more of Sisters of Mercy meets, 80s sax type solos, Carpenter Brut 80s synth.

    Don't forget Interpol. They brought that vocal style back for the first time in what... 2002? 2003? But true that Ian Curtis impersonators don't usually get much radio play. This one was pretty cool.

    Mat McNerney, the singer here, is great. I love the range in his singing, you should check his band Grave Pleasures.
