Just going through this problem my self. 99 TJ. When I pulled the cluster off, someone before me, had packed the connectors with dielectric grease. The right female connector appears to be replaced at some point as well . I used a fine pick and pushed the metal tabs in the female connector inwards. A trick I learned a while ago. The cluster works again. For now.
Well done with a great sense of humor! Your Romanian wife is lovely, btw. Take care of that Jeep for her! Ive got the same intermittent problem with my 97 TJ. So far, one punch of the dash fixes it for a couple weeks. Guess I know what to do now when that no longer works, thanks!
My cluster lights doesn’t work (the ones you can make brighter or less). I don’t know If I have to clean connections like you did, or change the lights switch (that switch is 22 years old)
Got a tj 2.4, previous owner said that it has a 4.0 claustwr and that it's the reason it doesn't work. Should I get a new gauge claustwr? Cleaned up the conectors but no luck. Lights and alarms work but needles don't move
Thanks Jason I have a 2000 TJ doing same thing I too checked the fuses and they were not blown however I just reinserted mine and nothing I will clean up the fuse legs and try again . I am a retired Carpenter buddie I know about the honey do list I still haven't got out fishing or golfing yet this year. Hunkering down like many of us. Like many people lately watching the news and seeing looters burning buildings and robbing stores and defacing other peoples property makes my blood boil. We need to bring in the Marines like in the La riots years ago a few warning shots to the head the lowlifes got the message. No more riots in LA.

After a few years ours is still working! Glad yours is also!
That's what the dealer did every time I took mine in for the same issue about every six to eight months under warranty.
Thanks for the video. Had the same problem. Replaced the cluster fuse. Works like a champ!
Glad it helped
So you just cleaned a fuse and connections and fixed. Go figure, always so damn easy for everyone else.
The gauges are still going strong!!
Very vague, what did you do, exactly???? Other than check and clean ???

We definitely went through the “smack the dashboard” phase!!! And thank you!!
Nice job but how long did it last. Because this problem impacts the turn signals and other things.
Jeep is still going strong! All the gauges are still working! Knock on wood.

When I found corrosion in mine, I replaced all my fuses and my lights are brighter and have things working that didn't work before.
That’s probably a better practice, just replace them all.
well at least that's one thing you can scratch off the list
Never clean fuses, replace them with new ones. The corrosion is also in the plastic part of the fuse. Look at it and you will see what I mean.
Thanks for that info!
That is what my problem was 😊
Glad it helped!

Hmmm.... That I don't know, maybe try and find an original cluster from a 2.4?.

you must be air force MX..."OPS CK" lol
I am prior Air Force but now serving in the Navy!
a perfect nature
Mine shuts off when the gauges die and give a code u0155 . Did yours shut off or just the gauges?
Did you figure out what was going on? My jeep is doing the same thing.
Same...
That ground strap screwed to back of stock stereo
That makes sense. I forgot we put an aftermarket radio in the Jeep. Thanks!
Just tell me how to fix it. Why such a long intro tf
What is the language, your wife talked? 😀
Haha! Romanian!
