  • 👗✨ Delicate Craftsmanship Alert! Check out this stunning 3-point French bustle (under bustle) alteration we performed on an elegantly heavy dress. Mermaid cut. With triangle gore creating a very long train. We worked with 2 layers of tulle with a final layer adorned with intricate beaded lace, enhancing the dress's charm. Each point is fortified with buttons for added support, stitched securely using fireline boasting a 6lb+ strength rating.
📍 Top Points: 9mm button, ribbon, number, and claw. Ivory satin Ribbons sewn from point up to side seams or zipper to distribute the weight evenly.
📍 Bottom Points: 9mm button, matching number for each pair, and a ring to loop into the Claw.
    🛠️ How-To:
1️⃣ Identify each point - Claws on top, rings on the bottom.
2️⃣ Connect 8s, secure 6s (on both sides), and then attach 7s (start from the sides for better handling).
3️⃣ Gently fluff out the points for that flawless look.
4️⃣ Take a moment to appreciate the incredible workmanship of your seamstress extraordinaire -don't forget to tag your her! 😜
5️⃣ If maneuvering the fabric becomes challenging, consider removing the dress temporarily and assembling without the body. Step back into the dress for a perfect fit and feel.
🌟 Voila! Your dress is ready to dazzle! ✨

I’ve done the fit and flare gowns with what I call a “Mermaid Bustle”
I pin it to itself with 3-5 points to make it appear as if the gown is a mermaid gown. Much easier for bmaids to find and attach
The bustle you did I call an “under bustle” or “Victorian Bustle “
Most brides don’t like it here in US
But nice job. Where did you get the numbered beads?

What do you use for numbering?
    Thank you

I wonder if the women who insist on a train realize what’s involved in bustling them up?😂

Beautiful gown with very sturdy rigging for the weight, but so much train is still on the floor.
It’s not reception ready at all, no easy way to walk and certainly no dancing.
    I don’t get it.

Once she tried it on I saw the points needed to come up a bit and I offered to do that so it would be floor length (it swept the floor on the mannequin but I didn't have one small enough to make sure the height was the same as her). However she was happy with it as is and wanted to take it. In the end she didn't even use it coz they were too drunk and just did up a couple of them.😂 But I do agree! I would have preferred to raise the loops inside

The french bustle does not suit the gown.

Maybe an American bustle would work... But honestly, no bustle at all is probably best. 😞🤷

With no bustle at all how's she supposed to dance?

    Sorry the original was better

The bustle is temporary to lift the train off the ground. She has the original for all but the reception

Sorry. I don't think this dress is beautiful.

Maybe minus the train, so the bustle isn't needed... 🤷😞
