They are both American (over) bustles with hooks and thread eyes. The lining didn't need bustling as it was already floor length. Lift the eyes up to corresponding hooks. Start with the floating snap to disconnect the lining from the tulle layers. Then put up the 2 point French bustle in lining. (The ribbons pair together.) Hook at top, beneath pleat near zip. I’ve done the fit and flare gowns with what I call a “Mermaid Bustle” I pin it to itself with 3-5 points to make it appear as if the gown is a mermaid gown. Much easier for bmaids to find and attach The bustle you did I call an “under bustle” or “Victorian Bustle “ Most brides don’t like it here in US But nice job. Where did you get the numbered beads?
Beautiful gown with very sturdy rigging for the weight, but so much train is still on the floor. It’s not reception ready at all, no easy way to walk and certainly no dancing. I don’t get it.
Once she tried it on I saw the points needed to come up a bit and I offered to do that so it would be floor length (it swept the floor on the mannequin but I didn't have one small enough to make sure the height was the same as her). However she was happy with it as is and wanted to take it. In the end she didn't even use it coz they were too drunk and just did up a couple of them.😂 But I do agree! I would have preferred to raise the loops inside

With only one pick-up, and still a little train left on the floor, is really taking chances of it not holding up the whole night. I would have at least put a loop on each side of the zip, so that it’s even.

Nope. Buttons added down the full length of the gown to disguise the zip with a loop at the waist so one of the buttons can fasten through it would mean the bustle is centred not wonky and off to one side like that. Otherwise, the bustle should be on the underside. That looks scruffy.
That's a great idea. Buttons down the back are an entire design change, which she didn't want. And a big expense. Your suggestions would have been 4x the price. Sure there are ways I think would look better but I need to do what the client likes and wants fits in their budget. An underbustle was suggested too, but she preferred the look of this one. Under ones can look like a big bum with this sort of fabric. Also, the buttons that are display buttons aren't usually strong enough to support an entire train. So even then I will use a clear button because I don't want the flimsy fabric buttons to break halfway through her night 💕. It hurts me a little too that it's off centre, and technically you can do a loop either side of the zip and then twist the hook through that and it sit centre, but this girl just wanted super simple and basic so this was the best of all the worlds.
