A bit shorter video this time, do you like the length compared to the past few? I meant to mention that I got interviewed for the Trail and Adventure Motorbike Podcast - link in the description, it was a very fun conversation. Check it out if you'd like to know a bit more about me.
Whatever fits. If there is enough content for a long video then keep it long. Long drawn out videos are good to sleep through too. Ha ha, I don’t think you will have sleeper for us anytime soon. Never seen a naked ADV person, but that was some funny material!!!
Hi Andy Just wanted to say keep on doing what you're doing my friend Your true to life experiences and comments bring an honest and reflective look at life Thoroughly enjoying your tour thank you Stay safe
I like the shorter length better. It's easier to watch the entire thing in one sitting. I lived in ABQ for a number of years and have wanted to do the some variation of the NMBDR. Yours is by far the best video series on this route. Excellent editing and commentary. Plus, I really dig your minimalist, low dollar approach. Make it about the experience, not the gear. Keep it up.
Good to know, I think I prefer the shorter ones too, contrary to recent evidence. I'm glad you're liking the way I do it! hope you get to get out on the nmbdr soon
Please, might I add this comment too. I have decided to keep my XR 650L almost stock on the exterior so it looks unique to me. Some mods on the motor for small fuel mixture enhancements. I would like to have the big tanks…seats…. Mirrors.. for bonuses but at the same time you can age a brand new bike 15years over night and depreciate it. Some of that stuff is just plain ugly and is outdated. I would buy some new improved add ons but this old stuff looks old!
been waitng for this vid :P can't wait for the next :P you have literally inspired me. going to get an xt660 as soon as possible and go touring the swedish TeT (I'm from Denmark)
: ) That is so good to hear! Sometimes I wonder if throwing more videos on top of the youtube pile is just keeping people stuck to their screens for longer. I'm glad I play a part in getting you away from yours. Have fun out there!
@@NorthRaceOne The weather here really is hard to beat, unless of course you'd like to grow a plant. If you're in GB with the TAMP guys as I suspect, all that green is real pretty. literally greener on the other side
I enjoyed your video very much. Watched it from my tent as I'm on my own little motorbike trip in the UK. Camping and your kind of motorbike are a great fun thing to do. I'll be interested to find out about how you fix your bike engine. I'm sure it will be obvious and fixable if you have a look inside.
Really good stuff! I live in Belen now but worked in Santa Fe for many years! Question? Wife and I are planning to drive a few sections of the NMBDR in my full-size pickup. Mostly filming for my little rc channel. It seems plenty wide.. but I don't want to cause any problems! thanks, brother. Obvious sub!
You should be fine in a truck, There's no singletrack on the whole thing. Just stay away from the optional sections if you don't want to do some actual wheelin, especially Chloride Canyon. Glad you like the videos!
Was that really metal on the screen or hondabond grey RTV? Hard to tell visually. My guess would be RTV if somebody had gone excessive on a top end job of some sort, or put RTV somewhere it shouldn't go.
Hmmm, you make me hope it was hondabond. I honestly cant remember at this point if I felt it between my fingers or not. I think I just assumed it was metal, almost positive I didn't put a magnet on it or anything. The bike only had 5000 miles on it when I got it so it doesn't make much sense to me that someone has been in there, but who knows. I think I'm gonna open it up pretty soon to do the valve stem seals, I guess I'll see at that point. Any advice on what to look out for? I guess just I'll see if I see grey rtv. Thanks for that though, here I was thinking that had to be metal.

You get it, my friend! This is just how I'd like these to be seen, I'm very glad that's how they come across.

Great video! Made me feel like going for a ride, I think that's a good thing
Nice to see you do this journey without spending $75,000.00 on a bike and ADV equipment .
Yes! I don't think I could bring myself to do it any other way, even if I had the money to do it!

I'm so glad to hear it, and super glad you're out there on your own trip too! I'm sure you'll see an update on the engine at some point.

@andyupsidedown thanks a lot. Should be really cool for some 1:10 scale rc offroading!
