I remember my grandmother buying me this dvd and I used to ALWAYS watch it over and over and over again and just study everything they say and do on this dvd . I’m 28 now and this still gives me chills. Hard to believe they won almost 20 years ago…. I love the Marlins and this dvd meant the world to me.
As a Red Sox fan, I loved this Marlins team. The antithesis of the Yankees. After having my heart broken by Boone a week before, I was ecstatic when Beckett tagged Posada for the final out. And of course, I had my moment a year later😂
Bro, they are also the antithesis of YOUR team. Who had the second highest payroll that year? Who added the contracts of Schilling and Foulke that offseason? Your 2003 team was classless and Pedro would have been arrested almost anywhere outside of a sports field for what he did to Zimmer. That was NOT self-defense. Go ahead and say the Yankees didn't deserve it, either. They had their humiliations coming soon. btw, I am a Mariners fan, and we hated the Yankees then, and Roger Clemens as well.
To all of you Marlins fans, congratulations on winning this '03 Series. I truly mean it. But still, as a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, watching this documentary STILL makes my gut wrench, even though we did win the 2016 World Series. "That could've been us," I think to myself. But again, at least we won 13 years later. With that said, as a Cub fan, I say this to you Marlins fans... who's ready for a rematch in 2022?? 😏
I remember being the biggest baseball fan in my school and everyone asking me who was going to win the playoffs and I honestly thought the Cubs would win
@@B-e-n-n-e-t-t when they’re leading the NLCS 3 games to 1, I honestly can’t say I blame you! Look at 1984, I’m sure many people thought the Cubs would win that!
Dontrelle Willis great pitcher good hitter to. He should have been a Short Stop, Infielder, or Outfielder he could have had a longer career. It's sad his career ended early and didn't go as plan. I'm a Yankee fan and he was one of my favorite players. Great pitcher with a high leg kick no one saw it coming when he pitched.
I love how John Miller and Gary Thorne were both calling this game, and now in 2022 they’re calling the Giants and Orioles, respectively. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
If this had a little end credits "Where are they now?" segment: -- Jeter went on to become Marlins owner (and ruined them) -- Aaron Boone became Yankees manager (for some reason) -- Clemens played 4 more seasons (and was suspected of using PEDs) -- The Cubs finally won the World Series in 2016 (Bartman was forgiven, but never seen again) -- The Red Sox finally won the World Series in 2004 (after the Yankees blew a 3-0 lead) -- Miguel Cabrera had over 3,000 hits and 500 home runs (with the Detroit Tigers) -- Dusty Baker passed Jack McKeon as the oldest manager to win a WS with Houston in 2022 (but that's another crazy story...) -- Mike Lowell and Josh Beckett would win another WS (for Boston, and Lowell was the MVP)
I’m going to say something about this World Series I can’t believe it happened 20 years ago I was in 6th when 2003 regular season happened and in 7th grade when The playoffs happened. I remember The Year 2003 like it was yesterday dame time flys by fast.
Roger Clemens is the greatest pitcher of all time. Bonds is the greatest batter. That's just my opinion because I grew up watching baseball & becoming a student of the history of the game
2003 FLA Marlins or 1997 FLA Marlins..Which team was better ?? The 2003 Marlins were down in every Playoff series but came back in all those Playoff series..The 03 Marlins went 11-6 in Playoffs..The 97 Marlins went 11-5 in Playoffs but almost blew a 3-2 World Series lead/lost games 6 and 7 at FLA in World Series..⬛🌇🐟📚It's a good debate..I'm going to give a slight edge to the 03 Marlins..🤔
If you think about just like 1997 they gave away all there players after winning the World Series history repeats itself the only difference is some of them stayed for a while and some left after winning the World Series Pudge left because he was one of the best catchers at this time the Marlins could not afford him. Urbina left went to Detroit and was in the prison for a while after attempted murder. When Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis were becoming All-Stars same thing Marlins couldn't afford them so they went to Detroit. Miguel Cabrera HOF, Willis didn't live up to his potential from injuries.
Didn't know Miguel Cabrera was a part of this team a lot of future HOFs except for Alex Rodriguez and Roger Clemens would say the same for Andy Petitte but never know especially Curt Schilling

I'm 28 too. Think I've watched this dvd 200 times lol such memories
I love the marlins too bro. 25 here myself believing this is a yr we finally become competitive and it sticks. 🐠🐟🫧🫧 always
Bro same I new it word for word at one point
it's such a damn shame that they don't make them like this anymore
That pick off of Johnson by Pudge in Game 1 was unreal.

And then Beckett came to Boston and had the postseason run of a lifetime again in 07.

That jersey that Jack McKeon is wearing during his press conference is SO underrated and so cool!!!
That was a sick jersey.

1:55 Look at Pudge. That celebration was sick👌🏾
This year 2023 is a 20th anniversary of the Marlins where they won the 2003 World Series against the New York Yankees! 😀
Gary Thorne is such an awesome play-by-play caller!!
He’s one of the NHL’s best!!

Unbelievable ride for those yanks , more hurted 2004 alcs blowing 3-0 lead on redsox
If only the Marlins had a payroll like the Yankees did because who knows how many titles they could have won if they kept these players together.
Thank god for this video
Truly best year I had especially living in New York 😂🎉and especially beating the Yankees in the Bronx was memorial time
Roger Clemens is the greatest pitcher of all time.
Bonds is the greatest batter. That's just my opinion because I grew up watching baseball & becoming a student of the history of the game
Historic and nostalgic
If David Wells pitches Game 5 the Yankees win, the Marlins win Game 6 because of Becketts pitching, but the Yankees win Game 7 at home
HELL YEAH!!! GO MARLINS 🎉🎉🎉

38:55 I get emotional all over again because that was a classy move from the Florida marlins and fans
Why do people post videos with NO sound??
Was this song call
I ❤ Derek Jeter & NY Yankees

Ironic. Cabrera is headed to the HOF and Clemens? Not so much 🤣.
very true.

Miguel Cabrera and Pudge HOF.
You could make the case for Beckett too
@@Erika11Garcia maybee
How ironic that Derek Jeter is CEO of the Marlins know go figure.
