I think as candle makers we are our own worst critic 😅 I’m the same it’s never good enough so I gave some to my friends to try and they love them. I think you’re doing great. Also I wonder if there is a lot of people that like those wood wicks? I personally don’t like them the crackeling is really enjoying to me but people are all different.
Yeah all my friends and family I give them to love them... Perhaps I'm just nose blind from doing it so much!
Yeah I think wood wicks are for a certain niche!
Thanks :)
When you smell it straight out of the box it's called a cold throw, a hot throw is the scent whilst the candle is burning, great video, I've been candle making for 14+ years and wood wicks are a hard one to master I gave up on them, patience and lots and lots of testing are your best friend in this industry, you are doing a great job from what I've seen and I'm glad testing others candles has eased your mind
Thanks for the comment, appreciate that. Haha for some reason I never say hot or cold throw whilst talking about candles in person.
Yes I think there's too many variables with wood wicks as much as we all want them to work.
Patience is certainly the one! Have a great day!
Thanks for this , been trying to understand what cold or hot throw it… just not brave enough to ask 😅
The problem with trimming wood wicks is that if the candle is not burned for months and stored somewhere with temperature fluctuations, the wax level can change.
The maker here I would suggest leaves it a bit long taking that in to consideration but should provide instructions to trim it before burning.
As for CLP labels, some fragrances (not many) don't require one if they don't contain potentially harmful chemicals or allergens
Awesome thanks for the reply, certainly somethings I hadn't considered! Have a good one :)
I think we all have the same doubt! I’ve never really gone to market with mine as I’m not sure if they really are good enough. Friends and family love them though.
I totally agree!
Loving your videos. I have only recently started making candles and I am surprised how much I love the craft.
I understand the self doubt.
I will be so excited from the beginning to end of creating a candle and while it is burning I think I have created something worth sharing.
Once it has burnt to the end I then think 'was that really as good as I thought?'
I guess the feedback from others is the most important way to determine if it is good or not
Thanks for the comment, it's a tricky thing this old candle making! Good luck with it!
Great video and very interesting to see what's out there 😊
Thanks for watching
