    I know this is off subject, but Jon really has nice skin. Not too matte, not all shiny and oily. He’s always camera ready!!!

    Ok so what about if you have your house on multiple websites (Airbnb / Vrbo/ etc) how does August help than ? Because he keeps saying august connects great with Airbnb but what about the other ones ? Would that become a problem ?

      There are tools that you can use when you start scaling that can connect to multiple OTAs

    If I am able to get the Yale August. Do I still need to get the ring doorbell? or does it pair with it? Appreciated your video a lot even it is 2019. Cheers for that.

    But I did think of something else. With the Nest Lock I use the last 4 numbers of the guests phone number to make it super easy for the guests to remember. You can’t do that with the automated August lock correct?

    Thank you guys! I love the August but my most recent rental has a security door from outside into the building and a door to get into the unit. I can install smart locks on both but can two August looks be linked to generate the same code? I really don’t like the idea of two different codes or having to download the app twice.

    • @shorttermsage
      @shorttermsage  4 года назад +2

      You could have one be a code that stays the same and another code that auto generates with the reservation

      Dara Abasute yes it’s called a temporary code, you can get the code addition for the August locks, it’s cost about 60

    I live almost 1000 miles away, so I need a long battery life lock. I find erental the best which is a schalage lock. Does not need wifi, but the drawback is you can only cancel at the door. I now give the code after it has been cleaned on day of arrival. Should I need an eviction, I an get somebody to go and cancel it for me. Batter is suppose to last 3 years, but I change evey 1-1.5 years.

    How can you cancel guest access code? A guest was issued access code even though they had NOT paid Airbnb for their reservation.

    Having the guest to download an app to use your property is a major inconvenience. I want a lock that doesn't need an app to get in.

  • @guitarsz

    I have a question guys, if you're using August locks, and someone used the app to get in and then decides to use the key for the remainder of their stay- they check out on time, and say, they forget to return the hardcopy key...I don't like the idea of people even having keys really, cos they can duplicate them, lose them, etc. Do you think guest really care if the only way to access is thru the app?

    • @shorttermsage
      @shorttermsage  5 лет назад

      Keep a key as a backup just in case but push for the app

    I’m not but seeking to hence why I’m watching this video. The units I have require a key fob to access the elevator that’s the only obstacle I haven’t figured out yet.

      Not a real easy anwser for that one. We avoid key fob apartments.

    I use a Nest/Yale lock. I didn’t know the August locks automatically changed the lock for each new guest. Also more importantly I didn’t know if the guest cancelled the reservation their code would get de-activated. Those are 2 great features with the August lock.
    With that said when I did my research on both the Nest/Yale lock and the August lock I read to many posts of host having trouble with their August lock and then switching to another lock. You haven’t had any issues with your August lock? I’ve had my Nest/Yale lock for about 10 months now with no issues except having to change out the batteries after 5 months.

      You can use August with the app or with a key code or even a physical key. Check out the kit in the description

    Also I don’t want to force my guests to get the August app. Some of my guests don’t even have smart phones to be able to do that. And I also have guests who stay where part of them come earlier than the rest of the group. So those coming before the rest of the group would also need to get the app. To me that would just be to much to ask of my guests.

    • @tracy3066
      @tracy3066 5 лет назад +1

      Woops never nevermind this being an issue. I could get the keypad so the guests wouldn’t need the app.
