Jin Saotome did two customizations for this mold. The Decepticon Blackjack as a 30's mobster car, and Autobot Flatfoot looking as though his alt mode drove straight out of Batman:TAS. Both have new heads, weapons, and paint jobs. Plus some additional molding to differentiate and add character to their alt modes.
Hubcap is, to be quite honest, my favorite toy at this scale. Such a darling alt mode, quick transformation, and a fun robot mode. I was really happy to see a review from you about him, and am glad you find him as nice as i do!
Could've been cool if this guy is remolded to be Cliffjumper, especially after this year's Bumblebee hit. A movie style VW Bumblebee alongside with this guy. Well, maybe not Cliffjumper. Maybe keep the name Hubcap. Whatever. But still, this would be really cool alongside the new VW Bumblebee.
Not sure if people have mentioned this. The line was called "Hunt For The Decepticons." Something of a sequel to ROTF, as well as being a "classics" bridge. Had to add in something I forgot.
We didn't have none o' those fancy automorphin' things, either! We had to do everythin' by _HAND_! Like _MEN!_ Now all these kids don't even need to transform these dern Transformers! :p
Hey, TJ. In case you didn't know, some very sweet artwork was made for G1 Hubcap for the Transformers: Legends game. Using this figure as a base of reference, but giving him a G1 Hubcap head design & making the limbs look more akin to a traditional Transformer, they actually managed to make him look very awesome! Here's the picture if you're interested: tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/a/a5/TFLegends_Hubcap.jpg
This was the 'Hunt for the Decepticons' era, I think, and Reveal the Shield was just something that used the same color of packaging. I dunno. I wanted that Sea Spray figure... And the Lugnut, for that matter.
Speaking of toys that may or may not be movie lines toys, any chance of reviewing the 2010 redesign of Lugnut? Or would that fall under "may or may not be Animated line toy"?
Could you perhaps make a review of a Beast Wars Basic? Idk, maybe a Fuzor like that bullbat? Or that lionmadrill? I heard of how busy you are so I wish you the best! :D
Can someone answer this for me, what is the difference between the standard symbols and the movie symbols? The designs? I can't really tell but then that might just be me.

i would love a repaint of hubcap into a more black/mobster look
black body with the silver grill and exhust could work as a tuxido
If anyone is wondering, Hubcap’s alt mode is a zephyr.

Yeah, this toy's pretty nice overall. Simplicity is rather underrated IMHO.

Synthetic Pacifist we all wanted lugnut. But not all of us got him
One of my favorite scout class figures! ^ ^
Hubcap is fun to transform and looks neat on top of it.
Wow, what a coincidence, I actually just pulled my Hubcap outta storage just a couple days ago, and now he's chillin' on my computer desk.
When I got this figure, it WAS in the ROTF line, just as the film came out. Oh, and I really like this figure...
Maybe you yanks got it at a different time...
holy crap this is tj's 666th video

You mean the 2012 reveald the sheild lugnut....
Thats not from the movie line btw
Jetfire48 Wasn't the "Reveal the Shield" line meant to be a continuation of the Revenge of the Fallen movie line? So wouldn't that still count?
+MadDemon64 i think it was actually hunt for the decepticons, which was a continuation of rotf
I used to have Hubcap, but I gave him to a neighbor who actually had this model roadster, and collected stuff of that model of car.
TJOmega in the comics hubcap was cliffjumper reformatted

+TJOmega will you review rotf skystalker?
you need to make more intros for the random reviews
could you review g1 scorponok ?
Hubcap was originally Erector but from hilarity of parents complaining his name became hubcap
umm, those shoulder pads are supposed to be flipped forward my guy.
could just call him cliffjumper
An example of a good transformers toy.
looks like first appearance bat-mobile
Am I the only one that sees G1 Chromedome in the deign?
Yes you are ,and chromedome wouldn't get a repaint from this
dis is da 666 vid lol
