Working landing gear? Stealth jet alt mode? Looks like a bat? Super poseable robot mode? I freakin' love this bot so much. I never got the Sky Stalker but I do have Laserbeak and that's good enough for me. My only complaint are those terrible wing tats.
To each its own, I liked the complexity of ROTF, for me it was the best line(along with HFTD) because you could see how much effort and thought was put into the toys, the detailing was superb. But yeah, the twins were a pain in the ass to transform, there's no defending that, mainly because they weren't very good looking in robot mode, unlike say, leader Optimus, which was also hella hard, but boy was he gorgeous looking! I'd ask you to review leader Optimus, but that would be mean xD but I'm curious, which other movie toys do you like? I can almost bet they're offscreen characters too!
I agree, having this figure myself, he's very good. Though I do have trouble with those daggers myself. There was a Bumblebee from the ROTF line's tail end that just about was the best of the movie 'Bee's and to this day still is. That would be Battle Blade Bumblebee, weird ax aside, he has great articulation, manages to get the retractable battlemask and transforming arm cannon in, looks pretty good to boot, not terribly complicated in the transformation department, and all this in a Deluxe class. Even the larger 'Bee's didn't get it quite right, and only the leader class comes close. (Though I admit I don't have personal experience with that one.) Yes, I will probably get hammered for that one, but I stand by this claim.
I fully agree with the over-complication concerning the ROTF toyline. I still play with me 2007 Optimus Prime, but the ROTF-version is an over-complicated mess.
I have to agree that the movie toys have been less then stellar. I skipped a lot of this line and honestly this is the first time I've seen this mold. This however is a very unique figure and I really like the look of it. I may have to track one down. Although how much cooler would he have been if his orange bits were purple. As always thanks for the excellent review!!!
The Transformer that jumpstarted me to start buying TF toys at the end of 2000's. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who sees him as a movie verse toy that deserved a lot of compliments.
I dunno man, the ROTF Leader was amazing for how screen-accurate it was in both modes, and the Transformation isn't nearly as annoying as Mixmaster or the like.
+Adam Allison Yeah, but it's not shaped near as sleek. On a different note, that's an ironic designation as the F-117 was closer to a tactical bomber than an actual stealth fighter.
+AoiKaze2000 when I looked up stealth bomber the F-117 nighthawk was one of the first military jet model's to come up, and when I looked more in to the F-117 it was called a stealth bomber.
@@AoiKaze2000 True, but a lot of the 'fighters' were tactical strike platforms (eg. the F-105 Thunderchief, F-111) by the late 1950s. It's only with the 'Teen series' (F-14, F-15, F-16 etc) that the pendulum swung back to air combat platforms. The F-117A designation was probably given partially because it's a 'tactical strike aircraft' instead of a strategic bomber (like the B-52/B-1/B-2), and also to obfuscate it's role back when not much was known of it's capabilities.
Trey Dixon Which, given the paint scheme that's still recognizable from how he's packaged in robot mode, was a really, really dumb idea. But yes, it was for that half of the 2010 Transformers line. (running alongside the 2010 Generations and PCC lines)
He has some MG figurise for some Kamen rider, but I don't think he's into Gunpla. I think he talked about it in his review of the W Cyclone Joker Figurise.
I actually like the movie toys. Except for ROTF blazemaster, aoe car drift, and dotm leader class sentinel prime. Seriously though, is Blazemaster a plastic addict victim?

Gustavo Barrios omg , ikr ritf and hftd are my favorite lines
DOTM had some gems too, Skyhammer and the scout class version of human alliance(Forget the actual name of the line) come to mind.
"the transformation is really smooth" he says as he proceeds to wrench the thing apart
Weird, I remember my Mind wipe being black
I actually own the Strafe repaint and yes, the paint on the wings are a huge throw-off for a really cool mold.
Reminds me of a beefy version of Prime SoundWave
Or Galaxy Force Soundblaster in these colours...

The ankles can actually tilt. If u look on the back of the feet, there is a small silver pin stuck in the heel which allows it to tilt.
Cookies & Meme I've had this mold since 2011, and I never knew this.
Would you ever do the fanmode combination with Skystalker if you happen to review Skystalker?
I got the blue Dreadwing version. One of my favorite toys.
I fully agree with the over-complication concerning the ROTF toyline. I still play with me 2007 Optimus Prime, but the ROTF-version is an over-complicated mess.
There is also shove Skystalker into Mindwipe to make a sort of combiner mode.
Fun fact he was going to be in the movie but then he read the script went AWWHELLNAW and wiped bay's mind (it dident take long)
I feel like that mold fits Soundwave better.
wait, Ratbat? And Mindwipe? Are we getting some bats?
My Mindwipe has missing purple on one of the vents :(
Why did AOE (and TLK to an even greater extent) have so few “off-screen” characters?

Is it just me, or does he look like the Zephyr One from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Especially when Skystalker is attached in vehicle mode.

I loved revenge of the fallen toys and the movie :(
Cant you use the landing gear on his feet as heels.

Mindwipe's stealth jet mode looks like the F-117 nighthawk.

the "F" in the designation stands for "Fighter". Bombers in the USAF aircraft designation have a leading "B" (as in B-2, B-52, B-1, etc).

wasn't Mindwipe "Hunt for the Decepticons" not ROTF?
+ExcelHedge Mindwipe was in the ROTF toyline. The mold was repainted into Strafe for HFTD.
DetectiveBarricade huh must be remembering it wrong.
Trey Dixon

my favorite from rotf is stratosphere and very close second is mindwipe. love your reviews man
Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk though I'm not certain if Nighthawks are still in employ.
could you review digimon xros x7 superior mode please do this for a random review📹📈👌😣
TJ Mindwipe has ankle tilt. It's very subtle
I'm complimenting you...don't ruin this. Awesome line
hey TJ what Age Of Extinction? Scorn was a good movie toy wasn't he?
I want him to review another figure that's just barely not a plastic addict victim
truthfully I think this toy belongs in the reveal the shield line
no, bad mindwipe, you stay there and let him review you.
ples review sky stalker
anyone partily take apart their transformers to make them battle damaged?
Please do rotf mixmaster
This used to be a bat and a head master
Megatron's personal Detective Batman, forgive the DC reference.
It's not surprising that the characters who haven't been in the movie have better toys because the designers had much more freedom.
Do you own any 1/100 MG models?
He has some MG figurise for some Kamen rider, but I don't think he's into Gunpla. I think he talked about it in his review of the W Cyclone Joker Figurise.
He looks like he's wearing a poncho
I actually like the movie toys. Except for ROTF blazemaster, aoe car drift, and dotm leader class sentinel prime. Seriously though, is Blazemaster a plastic addict victim?
+Ernestdoesgaming Andstuff Haha... I forgot about Blazemaster. The only toy I remember liking precisely because it was garbage.
I lost this guy in a move and I want back DX but I can only get for 70.00
Someone skipped leg day.
You're getting sleepy, sleepy...
Heh, of course something escapes your mind when you review a toy explicitly called Mindwipe. :p
what if he was in the movie. you just don't remember because he.....mindwiped you lol
+james woods
Or it could be the massive amounts of vodka I took to forget the blasted thing.
Coboxite this may be the best thing I've ever seen
Who was this guy? I don't remember him. Oh well, I guess I had my "mind wiped" hahaha! God that pun was horrible.
👏
