  • Do you have a first-round interview coming up? (Phone, video, or in-person?) If so, great job preparing for it! You’re doing exactly what I would recommend: research ways to prepare for interviews and come up with questions to ask at the end of your interview.
    Under no circumstance do you NOT prepare questions for the interviewers. You can expect your interview to start with a question like, “tell us about yourself” and you can expect it to end with the question, “do you have any questions for us?” ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SAY “No, no questions.”
    A first-round interview is your chance to get to know the culture of the organization and some basics about the position you’re interviewing for. These 12 question examples are perfect ways to wrap up your 1st round interview.

    Thank Abby, I agree. They pushing us to-the wall. I live in Sydney Australia and going through interviews for some time now. First round then second round. And then another candidate gets a job. It’s takes a lot of courage and strong will to continue. You have helped a big time to understand the other side of the process and you have great technique and answers to questions I never knew how to answer ❤

    If you know that a position has sales targets, would it be ok to ask what the actual targets are or not during the interview?

    • @kenboiCA
      @kenboiCA 5 месяцев назад

      Yes, ask about their KPI's and what a huge focus is on for the company. In my experience, asking about sales metrics and targets shows them you're serious about the position. One of my interviews I received feedback from the managers telling me they wished I asked more questions about sales metrics and performance.
      After getting these answers, this will help YOU prepare what you need to focus on when you first onboard into the company so you know the specific targets that you need to hit to succeed. Good luck and hope this helps!

    HI Abby,
    Do you have a list of questions that are not necessary to ask to interviewer.
    Thank in advance.

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  7 месяцев назад

      Hi! Great question - no, I don't, but I will add this to my list of videos to make because this is certainly a great topic. First and foremost: do not ask any question that you can find the answer to with a quick google search or review of their website!
      Keep an eye out for a video on this topic in the future :)
      Thank you!

    Hi Abby, what do you I answer when I they asked how much was I paid in my current or previous job and I don’t want to reveal the salary. Also why do they ask me this question? Thank you 🙏 😊

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  3 месяца назад

      GREAT question! I am not sure where you are located, but in the US this is actually an illegal question. (In many states it's illegal to have this question on the application as well. If you see this question on the application, it's okay to put "N/A" or leave it blank.)
      I would NOT answer this question if it's asked during the interview. They're likely asking it becasue they're curious, and in most cases it can lead to the pay conversation. The danger of sharing this information is you won't get paid a higher amount because they'll likely start you closer to what you were making.
      I would recommend saying something like, "The job posting listed XYZ as the salary/hiring range. This feels like an appropriate range for the type of work listed on the job posting and based on what we've discussed in the hiring process so far."
      If you're in the US, if you feel comfortable, you can even menton that this is not a question you feel comfortable answering.
      I hope this helps!

    Would you ask the interviewer, will there be a second interview?

    • @LifeWorkBalance
      @LifeWorkBalance  Год назад +3

      You certainly can! I would recommend, instead of asking if there will be a second interview, asking, “what are the next steps in the interview process?” This will give you a more holistic idea of what to expect.

    Hello Abby, I asked a question or two from each category during my interview today. The interviewer responded with "That's a very good question" most of the time before proceeding to answer me. Let's hope I get to the next round. I will let you know if I do. Thank you very much. @LifeWorkBalance

      @@LifeWorkBalance Yes. I got Through the first round and the recruiter said that he'll let me know if I am selected for the next round. Then after a 2 days I followed up and he said that the HR manager would like to interview me. Then when we finalized the date for the 2nd round, after some time the recruiter reached out and said that they're actually skipping that round and called me on site for the final interview. Lets hope i get this. I have my interview on Thursday. Couldn't thank you enough.
