This could totally cross some boundaries - we want to know our audience when we ask this question. It's all about tone and wording! And, if it makes you uncomfortable, don't ask it!
Great video! I've found your videos very helpful and was even complimented in a recent interview about how great my questions were and how impressed they were that I took notes! All information I've learned from your videos. My question for you is, what about roles we are interviewing for that we do not plan on remaining at for longer than 6 months or so? Should we remain unemployed until our "dream role" comes along or speak honestly about how we are searching for other positions more fitting?
Thank you for your support!! Your question is a good one, and unfortunately, the answer isn't that simple. The answer will fully depend on your financial stability. If you have the financial means to remain unemployed and job search full time (yes, full time) then that will work because you have the money to do so. Most people are not in that place. So, my recommendation is to find a job that will be a good stepping stone to your "dream" job. (I actually don't believe in dream jobs! Find out why here: STOP Looking for Your DREAM JOB! ruclips.net/video/n6g1DqXVP6Q/видео.html) Don't just take anything (unless you need the money NOW), be a little more strategic and find a job that will help you be more competitive with that "dream" job. The position I'll be interviewing for isn't that technical or involved. It's for a Reception/C/S position. Are there different types of questions I could ask the Interviewer that would apply? From the job description I wouldn't be working on Projects or Presentations! Thank you, Alexis
Hi Alexis! Thank you for the great question. A Reception/Customer Service position still can have technical work (questions) involved. A few ideas that come to mind are: (1) what does the training for this position look like? (this question can help you understand what your first few weeks will look like - what training can you expect for the position and organization's policies and procedures, etc.) (2) can you tell me what I can expect from my first 30 days? My interview this week is broken down into three interviews: hiring committee, supervisor, and the rest of the team. Do you think it appropriate to in use some of these questions even though it's technically my first interview?
I think you may have interviewed already - how did it go?? I think it's appropriate to use many of these questions in those various interviews! I have these separated into the second round interview, but that doesn't mean they are exclusive to the second round. If you feel they are appropriate to ask in your first interview, ask away :)

Congratulations on getting to the second interview! My biggest piece of advice is to remember this is a conversation that goes both ways - they’re interviewing you and you’re interviewing them! The more comfortable and conversational you are, it’s more likely both will feel it goes well. You got this!
