I watched Monet's recap for this episode and she said they cut out a lot of funny moments from their skit and that the monologue she gave was written for her. This whole season's production choices have really confused me.
Baily Brittany McDaniel they did the same thing to Aja in her snatch game on AS3. Everybody loved her crystal but they cut out the best parts. Production doesn’t care about the reality of the competition, they care about crafting a narrative.
I am somewhat disappointed with the pallification of drag as this show becomes more mainstream. Manila's maxi pad dress is EVERYTHING I love about drag, irreverent, clever, slightly shocking and gag worthy. How did we go from Divine and John Waters to watered down? Though I still love this show, it seems that by trying to please everyone, the show is less fun and more formulaic. I want it to remain more authentic and less produced.
it has felt really inauthentic since around s7. i'm not even looking forward to s11 and part of me wants to skip it, but i hate the thought of missing out on all of the fun that comes with watching drag race. nothing's right i'm torn.
You can still have have drag like that, no one is stopping it. But as its on TV it’ll be watered down like everything. It’s still pretty shocking for most people as it is. I enjoy all forms of drag, crazy and safe, but I was brought up in the UK with drag on TV (Dame Edna, Hinge and Bracket, Danny La Rue, I’m dating myself here...) and panto dames in the theatre. It’s all got it’s own merits.

There’s actually something rather more offensive to me personally about men making a living from female impersonation deciding that it was “in bad taste”! Come on! That was genius! Harrumph!!!!!! Honestly I’m more angered by that decision than I probably should be but Jesus. Isn’t that exactly what drag should be about?
You know, the more I think about this the more angry I get... Sharon Needles (rightly) won a challenge walking down the runway spewing fake blood from her mouth. Almost every episode, queens make reference to their fake “vaginas”. But God forbid one dares make reference to what a vagina Actually does... ggggrrrr I really hope it wasn’t Ru making that decision because if so my opinion of him has just taken a fierce downward turn. :( Also: Manila looked *amazing* in that maxi pad dress. Meh, she was robbed this season in so many ways... sigh I’ll get off my soapbox now ;) x

When I first saw this episode I wanted to think Valentina's interruption was (egotistically) intentional to break the feedback loop of Latrice's and Manila's sadness, but honestly comparing her to Alexa is iconic and correct

"It should be hair that pops out of a champagne bottle with LED lights and spills into a stabilized glass that doesn't move at all as it's sitting on the queen's butt when she walks. Okay?"
Honestly Naomi was such an underappreciated Queen during ALL STARS. She always was in the strong pack but sadly was not able to get wins because, yeah Manillla and Trinity where killing every challenge and Monique was taking her pace.
Naomi was not good enough. Period. She upped her game significantly, but her acting is too one-note and lacks depth, and she failed miserably at the roast and the club challenge (Bob wrote her jokes for the reading challenge and the Snatch Game, that's why she failed when she had to write them herself for the roast). Is she fierce? Yes. But she is not top 2 material.
honestly this season made me start to dislike latrice for a while... she just kept showing that she can’t work with people and using other people as an excuse instead of using her huge personality to her advantage - i know she can dominate a room just by walking in, so it was very frustrating seeing her complain that people were “too loud” or overpowering i still think she’s great and amazingly charismatic i just think she’s happier outside of the ultra competitive environment
literally the only thing I could think of as a reason for not allowing Manila to wear the pad dress was that viewers might find it condescending to be told by a man who doesn't get periods (cause some do) that "hey, your periods are fine and empowering" but I don't think the LARGE majority would have taken it that way. super unfortunate that it stifled that amazing look.
and some viewers may literally gag over blood. The queens have get shits for wearing gaggy costumes (ie: shangela & trinity) and since Manila asked (Roscoe review party on make over challenge), they would say no for sure

Also, I honestly thought that Trinity should've been in the bottom, since she didn't really play a character, forgot her own NAME and got completely overpowered by Valentina. And her look, while I liked it a lot, it didn't really read "Padded for the Gods." It was so top-heavy that it distracted from the curves.

To all the Naomi haters... remember that this was basically the *fourth* week in a row that she was High and in the Top 3. She didn't just coast through the competition
She was not snubbed. Her acting is one-note and her characters lack depth, both in Jersey Justice, the Snatch Game, and Sex and the Kitty Girl. She has jokes, but a good performance needs to be more dynamic than that (just look at her Sex and the Kitty Girl performance, which was horrific).The judges are absolutely right, but Naomi's fans don't see through their bias. Contrary to being snubbed, Naomi was given highs she did not deserve, like in episode 1 (where her performance was low safe at best).
Top 2 should have been Naomi and Monique. Monique would have won the lip sync regardless and Latrice would have been sent packing. Naomi’s acting has improved so much since s8 - she clearly has more confidence and was good to watch.

In the roast she may have placed low cause her runway was so good. The clubs episode they deserved to be in the bottom but to be fair Valentina was checked out at that point. While MoMo had good chemistry already and there was a team of 3. But ya she was in the bottom for the last challenge

She was not snubbed. Her acting is one-note and her characters lack depth, both in Jersey Justice, the Snatch Game, and Sex and the Kitty Girl. She has jokes, but a good performance needs to be more dynamic than that (just look at her Sex and the Kitty Girl performance, which was horrific).The judges are absolutely right, but Naomi's fans don't see through their bias. Contrary to being snubbed, Naomi was given highs she did not deserve, like in episode 1 (where her performance was low safe at best).

Top 2 should have been Naomi and Monique. Monique would have won the lip sync regardless and Latrice would have been sent packing.
Naomi’s acting has improved so much since s8 - she clearly has more confidence and was good to watch.
@@Dalsemien I think everyone agrees the judging in episode 1 was awful. But she deserved her high placement in episode 2. She deserved to win the snatch game and in Jersey Justice. In the roast she may have placed low cause her runway was so good. The clubs episode they deserved to be in the bottom but to be fair Valentina was checked out at that point. While MoMo had good chemistry already and there was a team of 3. But ya she was in the bottom for the last challenge
