Indeed! I was so mesmerized by the Shots/Landscapes in the film - didnt know you could set up captivating shots in an urban setting - the whole story takes place near the port/sea - the shots especially the ones in Subway/Railway Station/Port were so captivating -the entire film was shot on ARRI Cameras 35mm - Spherical Camera Aperture Robby Müller did a phenomenal job
This movie is one of the very best of the 70s. Not an uninteresting frame in it, plus you get best-ever performances from DHop and Ganz (not to mention the latter’s truly superlative 5 o’clock shadow).
That sad violin music that plays whenever Hopper is on screen is GOAT'd. I wish somebody could isolate that score and make a coherent soundtrack suite out of it. It isn't included with the 9:30 long soundtrack they released for it.
I don't know where u might have heard that I am a gun man 'BANG!!' U must take me for somebody else.. SLICK EDIT.. Splendid acting.😉 Interesting character..
That edit was fascinating to watch.... Very noirish.... BTW its one hell of a movie coupled with outstanding performance from Zimmerman.... The film was more about Zimmerman than it was about Tom Ripley... Despite the name Ripleys Game
@@oldmoviemusic I thought it was a Dylan song he sang at the end. This gives me another reason to watch again. Not that I need one. Thanks for the info.
I am pretty sure that Wenders mentions this in the commentary on the dvd I have. I will have to queue it up. Problem is by the time I watch the move and then hear the commentary and get some more popcorn, well I just may forget this bit as I get lost…
You know I was thinking of the actual film while watching this and imagined the song which Dennis Hopper sings at the end. That is what I was referring to when I mentioned it being by Dylan. I rewatched the trailer and realized I have Dennis Hopper living in my head. Damn.
Support my work and buy me a coffee!

What is the first song, please if you can tell? Very good edits.
This trailer really does justice to the superior camera work of Robby Müller
Showing him shoot the gun is kind of a spoiler that should've been left out.
Rest in peace, Bruno Ganz. 🕊
Ah nooo. I didn't need to know that...
“And that river flows, it flows to the sea” i don’t know why but I love that line, such a beautiful movie
I love it too :) Somehow feels sad and beautiful at the same time
Now I have to watch it.
Seriously ngl, everytime i come back to watch this trailer it hits me deep inside... Very well sound and editing in general, really clean.
Love this film. Ganz and Hopper are superb.
Phenomenal trailer. I'm going to watch the film because of this, thank you!

@@stevegmb1 i liked it.. reminded me of taxi driver somehow.. not so much the story, but the cinematography
My favorite film of all time, thanks for capturing this overlooked and beautiful tragedy in the most vibrant way possible.
Best film ever made.

Some amazing shots, especially outdoors. Definition of art.
Wow, I'm amazed by the use of the score from 'Partisan'. A great score and a great film!

Robby Müller was just incredible, I mean goddamn.
He really was an artist! Awe-inspiring!
Bruno Ganz? Dennis Hopper? Say no more, I'm watching this tomorrow 😄
Don’t forget Nicholas Ray and Samuel Fuller appearances

Highsmith wasn't sure about it at first, but soon embraced it, and called Hopper the best Ripley she'd seen.
I've seen this so many times
God,the shot in 1:31,so fxxking cool ,kind of Taxi Driver feel .
Some of the best image's ever filmed 🎥
For me Wim Wender's best work
