We were so low over the homes on final approach that people on the patios laying out peppers to dry waved at us. We landed on the first try. Taking off was the more-scary part! Pointed at a mountain and running out of air strip, I kept praying "Pedal to the metal, sweetheart!"
I have been twice to Lukla. It is dangerous. Even Indian Sherpas (porters) prefer to trek out than use the plane even though they can get highly discounted fares.

Amazing that TNCS didn’t make the list. 400 m total length but only 385m available for landing. Sheer cliffs on three sides and mountain on the fourth. For me St Barts and Princess Juliana were easier to get into than Saba. And even at that length the Saba locals never liked when we passed the intersection after landing 😂😂 good memories
