Therefore it’s ideal for us as an emergency back up when we head off to the Far East in our VW T3 Syncro, which has a better than evens chance of breaking down, so the C1000 could really come into its own. As for the camera, we used similar in helicopters (FLIR) for low flying in poor weather or at night and they really come into their own in appalling weather, such as blizzards, fog etc.

The ANKER SOLIX C1000 would be a great bit of kit to use in my camper van so I can do off grid camping. Thank you for the chance of winning the "C1000" fingers crossed.
The c1000 would be very useful for keeping warm away from home (powering an electric blanket or small heater). Also during power cuts such as during storm Darragh, 8 hours without power, 4 of those in the dark!
Great video and good testing and feedback! I would use the C1000 on Caravan trips and to recharge equipment batteries when at work on the road. Anker looks to be robust.
I do enjoy the opportunity to work with companies on pre-production models. Fun to be able to test them and actually help. Good planned use for power station as well
A very interesting dash cam and could definitely see its advantages for yourself in the Nordics, the Anker Solix C1000 would go with my van build lovely, we have quire a small setup so the extra power would mean we could go away for longer rather than using campsites so much and have currently been looking at these as an option, 😊
C1000..... Love the look of the Anker brand , this station would help me out no end , living full-time in my mwb sprinter and working out of it is not an easy task especially in the winter months when there's no solar. I use a soldering station often for car dash repair and eprom reading for binary data. My power set up is struggling to keep up and I'm burning a lot of fuel idleing to charge my limited battery bank. Also if use it to power my old toughbook laptop whilst running diagnostics through customers cars . It's the perfect size for all my needs.......... Many thanks and good luck to the lucky winner ! 🤞
Thanks for this offer! I would use the Anker C1000 to extend my trips away in my current camper van by keeping devices charged and let me stay off grid!
I’m about to start a new van build so I’d use the C1000 as a power source until the electrics are up and running. After that it’d be an auxiliary/back-up power in the van, similar to yours. Looking forward to your next van build series! I did my last van build at the same time as your first series and your videos were very useful! Wondering what you will do differently this time after 4 years more experience 🤔
I’m very much looking forward to the new van build as well! Or how much am I going to do similar. I’m very happy with how things turned out like the bed and so on but I will be doing some things differently due to experience and new technology
A C1000 would be great (I like an Anker product) ... and one of those cameras would have been perfect for me a couple of weeks ago - I hit a deer which decided to follow it's friend across the road 🫤 It was at night and I didn't see either of them until they were on the road in front of me. It would have been handy for the insurance claim too. Nice to see there is going to be stuff like this around which will retrofit to older stuff like mine 👍👍
I would use the Anker SOLIX C1000 to power my diesel heater and run some lights in the garage and in the camper, while I'm building my campervan. I just finished the re-spray (outside) before the weather changed a few weeks ago. It's gone from an extremely tatty yellow ex-ambulance (fully stripped out, to bare bones) to a very tidy looking van in light grey, with a matt finish that is slightly textured. It took me hundreds of hours to get the bodywork straight because it had plenty of battle scares. All the delays mean I have to do the build in the freezing cold this winter but it will be worth it when I can finally take my young son on adventures next year (rain or shine).
C1000 I would use it for home and travel. I am on an flexible tariff and between 5-7pm my electric is expensive so I'd use this to power up essential items to reduce the carbon emissions produced during peak times.
C1000. I recently built a sprinter using some of your videos (and others) on RUclips as motivation. I found your channel initially looking for artic van life content as the artic circle has always been top of the list. I'd use the unit as an emergency backup incase the main system had issues with the low temps. (Postal address in Belfast incase that's an issue)
Hi Alex, I'm currently building a Mk8 Transit same as YETTI and thinking the C1000 would be a perfect asset for my off grid Times. Have watched your vids many times and sorry to say I have copied many of your ideas. Great content and looking forward to your next trip.
No need to apologise that’s the exact reason I make videos I want people to see some of the ways I do things so they can use themselves or improve them as well to fit their specific needs!!!
Great giveaway of the Anker SOLIX C1000 power station. It wouxld be a great addition to my vehicle as beiing a first responder extra power in cold and bad weather would be a great bonus.
Interesting fact that would actually be a difficult one to see. IR light / thermal information it’s actually reflected off glass. so glass looks like mirrors on thermal. Although I could imagine you could submit some entertaining footage to a Insurance company
@@MispronouncedAdventures Oh, so that explains why it wants to be stuck to the bonnet. I can see a hole being made in the front bumper so it points straight ahead 😁 P.S. i would like my Anker C1000 to power my Thermal Master Dash Cam !! At 10:04 are you on a ship?
I've been looking at power stations for running power tools in a shed. The C1000 would be a good fit due to the output capacity on the inverter. Anything smaller just cant run a hoover and a small power tool at the same time which is quite inconvenient for dust management.
Yeah it’s a pretty versus bit of kit. Lots of uses outside of my general area with van. Is a inverter is pretty large I thought it’s capacity that’s for sure.
In actual fact that camera would help me as I struggle with driving and contrast . I’d need the power bank to plug it in though the Anker Solix C 1000 looks perfect. Also be great as back up power for my caravan which trips quite frequently, the light being great feature.
Yeah, it’s pretty impressive of the thermal difference in what can be quite uncontrasted visible condition. Make sure you edit your comment and include “C1000”
this would be overkill but the C1000 would be a great addition to the van I want to build, even though I was planning on getting a much smaller powerbank as I currently only have a phone I use 😂 (which has a 10800mah capacity because I use it all day with work (it's a chunky ting))
I would love an Anker SOLIX C1000 as an instant electrical set up for my campervan , I only use the van at weekends , not live full time so this would be ideal rather than trying to figure out what I would need to buy and then try and bring it all into a working state lol
We have been looking for a power station so myself and wife can do a couple of car camps, (new to it) hoping for a van in the future, after 14yrs of fostering / guardians its our time and the Anker SOLIX C1000 power station would be an ideal starter unit to help us on our journey's...As usual great informative content.
It’s not really something available for European vehicles easily, common on NA. I don’t see it as a major likelihood since most of the people who live & work in the Nordic don’t have second alternators
I would absolutely love to own an Anker SOLIX C1000 power station, to enable me to have the confidence to begin to get out there & take on adventures in the big wide world! But more importantly, I’m just really pleased for you that your partnerships are now able to bring you the satisfaction & joy of being able to give back in this way to those who follow you too, at the same time as helping those you partner with…a triple-whammy, made possible with all your hard work, & more powerful than any power station…well almost any! 😉😄
Great. Video - very intriguing.... I would love an Anker SOLIX C1000 as a way of powering my astrophotography setup when I'm out and about in my self made camper away from.light pollution. The c1000 would.allow.me to power the gear, drive dew removal systems and also power my monitoring cameras. Fingers crossed!
The Thermal Lens is Germanium. I'm fairly sure that is a repurposed Hikvision Thermal /Optical CCTV camera with a few idiot bells n whistles added such as the OBD shiz. But tbf it's a decent end user package. Give the thermal lens a clean with ISP now n then. It will work well in the cold of the north.
Thanks for a technical reply. I haven’t looked into the sensor. I do agree on the fusion mode it’s what some of my old phone attachment thermal cameras did to try and give “definition” to a very resolution thermal sensor. Although I was surprised with the fusion mode that they hadn’t lined up for the two images. Although I didn’t feel it wasnt that necessary the resolution of this thermal camera is generally pretty okay for the size of screen you’re viewing it on. Location of the units screen I am still playing around with. As I’ve been tempted to potentially swap the location of my OBD2 display reader on the dash which is directly in my vision to see if that works likely better as a location for the thermal display. The Arctic stuff I’m generally quite excited to play with and really interested to see the whole defrost mode. The new van, I will be looking into a PoE NVR a based camera system and given my history of technical and nerdy solutions seeing how far I could potentially push that even with thermal cameras.
If you want a heads up before you dive in give me a shout first. ( this is what i do for a living and they tend to omit lots of stuff on the spec sheets especially with NVR’s)
Would love to win that Anker C1000 for my own road trip to the North Cape next February. Sadly I'm not in the UK though, so good luck to the other contestants :)
Because the screen angle is adjustable and the camera angle is not adjustable, you can adjust the screen angle to have horizontal views. 😂🙃 Slap a rectangular (black or dark grey) carton water level horizontal over the screen, with a rectangular cut out (or circle) in order to see the images from the camera (that is part of the whole image on the display screen, but now horizontal in the horizontal water level plane). 😆😉
Thanks again for another great video Alex. I really appreciate the effort you put into making these. The C1000 would be a fantastic bit of kit for camping and as a backup power supply for my van. Thanks....
I would love to win the Anker C1000 as it would come in handy to run my power tools whilst building the van and after that it would function as our backup power supply in said van. (I do hope it’s not a UK only giveaway as I’m from the Netherlands) On the topic of the video. That looks like a nice bit of kit to have. Might be something I would buy when it’s going to be in production.
Would love to win a C1000, I work from home in the UK but would love to be able to work from some remote camp sites in Scotland without using holidays 😊
Id been keen to know the sensor they use for the thermal . I dont think these are worth it for average user. thermal resolution is to low for wide angle use and system is not good for most for zoomed in applications (thermal spotting scope) . I guess its a excuse to get thermal sensors developed for the future .....if the USA didnt have stupid laws around them
The resolution of the sensor ( and other data ) is available on the website is actually higher than some of those car manufacturers use. Although I don’t know if the exact model number is available. I do have quite a few other thermal cameras, including hunting monocular which are way higher quality sensor ( and cost me a hell of a lot more money! ) . Although I do have to have a open general export license ( for EU ) to take them overseas, due UK laws on sensor. specifically ones over 9 Hz
@@MispronouncedAdventures The 9 Hz is the main issue i have . its disgustingly horrible for any type of movement they need to be 25 at least. I think this system is a basic upscaled phone thermal module. with the same drawbacks as they have. I saw the resolution info which as you put, is not up there with the upper end options but in regards to a safety system which lets be real this is meant to be its lacking what it needs. its a glorified dash cam with the upside of a thermal novelty but downside of price over performance. One of the main issues with this is a large display trying to grab your attention putting red boxes around objects and will end up reducing the concentration from the driver. I think these should be used in a different situation such as blind spot and reversing large vehicles. trying to reverse a coach is the pouring rain at night with people on the kerb waiting this could be a good system, not for forward driving .
I did address the distraction to the Driver aspect in the video ( but every driver is different ) after I had it installed for about a week I hadn’t notice it any more unless there was an audio warning. As for the boxes they can be turned off in settings..
you really don’t thermal in most environments. Although I wouldn’t admit I did find it in the dark for picking up people in the road long before my headlights saw them functional. Although my headlights would have found them anyway. Not dismissing your points though the same could be said for the high luxury car with the same feature
@@MispronouncedAdventures Yes Agreed, I think in this type of use a longer range look ahead on dark country roads or as your case . artic roads with wild Moosey deary things running about rather than in build up areas that are street lit and head lights reach. dont get me wrong if you get bored of it after the trip to the snow lands please send it over and il stick it on my car. im a sucker for tech

Excellent use for it!
C1000 - I would use it for charging power tools on track days and as off grid back up in my van!
Good plan, I know quite a few people who do similar things
Can you imagine the insurance claim with the driver holding their phone to their ear, all in thermal? would be awesome.
@@MispronouncedAdventures done thanks. what sort of price point is camera do you know ?
@ MSRP is $799, funding prices carry 38% off T $499. Well, that’s. What I can find online
this would be overkill
but the C1000 would be a great addition to the van I want to build, even though I was planning on getting a much smaller powerbank as I currently only have a phone I use 😂 (which has a 10800mah capacity because I use it all day with work (it's a chunky ting))
Interesting video. I would use a C1000 to recharge my ebike when out and about in my van
Thinking about the issue you had last year and adding some redundancy, have you seen the dual alternator kits you can get?
It’s not really something available for European vehicles easily, common on NA. I don’t see it as a major likelihood since most of the people who live & work in the Nordic don’t have second alternators
A Anker SOLIX C1000 power station would be great for camping ! Thanks.
Good use case for it
I’m planning a van build next year the anker solix c1000 would be ideal to use!
C1000. At the moment, I'm building a garden room, and this would be perfect to power my tools until I get a permanent power supply
Yeah, the inverter on this unit is pretty powerful I’ve run my chopsaw and a few other tools off it when I’ve needed to
Yippee first comment! Love your vids 👍🏻
@@appalingbehaviour good effort, only by a few seconds
I would use the C1000 in my suv camper to replace my Junkery so I can go camping with my sons!
Sounds like an excellent use!
@@MispronouncedAdventures wish I could win, I'm in USA! but love Anker, they have great products!
C1000 Id take that bad boy everywhere . be good to power lights for the boys football training in the winter
It’s a great unit for sure!
@@MispronouncedAdventures nice little gig working for battery technology company when you do what you do for a hobby. got any jobs going 😅
C1000 Would hook it up to Dee’s wheelchair handcycle to extend her range !
That would definitely extend the range.
I’d use the Anker solix C1000 as a UPS for my computers and 3D printer!
That’s a great us as a UPS for 3D printer. I’ve done that before. Please make sure you edit your comment and add “C1000”
thanks Alex. Good luck on Arctic round 4 👍
I would use the Anker C1000 as the main power source for the landrover 110 camper i am building to travel to off grid adventures
Good plan. Nice and compact for a smaller build
( this is what i do for a living and they tend to omit lots
of stuff on the spec sheets especially with NVR’s)
Ha! catching bush wazir’s.would love the C1000 to use in my van and for camping👍.✊🙏❤️👌😎
It’s quite entertaining what appear at the side of the road at night which you would normally see. 😂
I would use C1000 for my planed conversion.
Good use for it. would that be as your main electrical system or something to help convert it?
@@MispronouncedAdventures It would initially be to help me convert it and then I will see ☺️
I would use the C1000 in my Suzuki jimny when out on adventures!!
Would love to win that Anker C1000 for my own road trip to the North Cape next February. Sadly I'm not in the UK though, so good luck to the other contestants :)
A C1000 would do very well in my Motorhome Thank you 😜👍
I suspect it would be a rather good piece of equipment
@ Yes i think so 😜👍
Goin back to Finland again soon ?
I would like to win the Anker SOLIX C1000 to cover some devices during Octopus energy saving sessions!
Smart use. I know a few people doing similar things with Octopus energy sessions
Because the screen angle is adjustable and the camera angle is not adjustable, you can adjust the screen angle to have horizontal views. 😂🙃
Slap a rectangular (black or dark grey) carton water level horizontal over the screen, with a rectangular cut out (or circle) in order to see the images from the camera (that is part of the whole image on the display screen, but now horizontal in the horizontal water level plane). 😆😉
Thanks again for another great video Alex. I really appreciate the effort you put into making these. The C1000 would be a fantastic bit of kit for camping and as a backup power supply for my van. Thanks....
Thank you for watching. I enjoy making them!
I would love to win the Anker C1000 as it would come in handy to run my power tools whilst building the van and after that it would function as our backup power supply in said van. (I do hope it’s not a UK only giveaway as I’m from the Netherlands)
On the topic of the video. That looks like a nice bit of kit to have.
Might be something I would buy when it’s going to be in production.
C1000.. Because I'm an Anker and I'm worth it.

The Anker SOLIX C1000 power station would be a real upgrade to our campervan. I think power banks like the Anker SOLIX C1000 power station provide great flexibility in the smaller space of a campervan. Thanks for the videos. Can’t wait to see the next season of your arctic adventures.

I’ve got a whole Arctic winter season before the new build. It’s a massive investment for me which needs to real financial planning
@@MispronouncedAdventures Like the way you have worded that, a whole new season before the build, when really you mean it's coming next year🤣 To help you out, i will become a Patreon. Update..........can't find Patreon link?

I've been putting what I can into crypto for the last 4 years and currently have 10k. I'm fully hoping things go well, it turns into enough to buy a motorhome. Because we'd. Like to try Van Life. Obviously a power bank would be ideal for us and I've already been looking at them. To be fair Anker look to be the best on the market at the moment so I'll be well chuffed if I win. "C1000" C1000
