    Wow. You might not notice Kelsey, but from what I watched in this video your operating skills have increased 10 fold from your first vid. Specially in that thick mud. Well done!

    This was a beautiful place, even if a bit touristy. Thanks for taking us along.

      Glad you enjoyed it! The views were great, the towns were a bit hectic but still worth the views I'd say.

    Tim. I don't like the tourist places either. I like to see how the people live, and where they shop in markets.
    Vietnam is beautiful but lousy roads.

      The roads can be challenging for sure. Although it seems like everything is under construction so it could be a very different story in years to come.

    Ha Giang is being destroyed by those pseudo backpackers following a little flag like Chinese tour groups... I just don't get it. Where's the adventure anymore? They follow their guides, being told where to look, where to stop, where to eat, where to sleep... Happy to see you two do it the right way. I'll be there with a friend in 10 days, but riding from Lao Cai all the way to Cao Bang and back to Hanoi. Can't wait.
    May I ask when was this filmed?

    • @DirtSunrise
      @DirtSunrise  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, the tour thing does not appeal to us...but to each his own I guess. That sounds awesome! Enjoy your adventure! (We were there for the month of January).

    Take note, the 1968 Convention has not been ratified by countries as Australia, Canada, Iceland, India, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, and United States of America. This means that an International Driving Permit obtained in these countries is not valid in Vietnam.
    Click here for a list of all countries who signed the 1968 Convention. IDPs from those countries are valid in Vietnam.

    Us tourist, we are ok for a minute but backroads all the way. Usually it is slow and steady but this trip it is slip sliding away :)

    Can you please let me know which Agency that issued your International Driver License that was accepted by the Vietnamese traffic policy? Is your IDL is in English or translated in Vietnamese?

    • @DirtSunrise
      @DirtSunrise  5 месяцев назад +1

      We got ours from AAA and they have a translation in pretty much every language.

    looks pretty, as has most of the trip, didn't really come across as busy with tourists but drunken karaoke is not a good sound track. Sure you'll be back remote soon.

      Good call, I didn't think to hit record to capture the big groups at the time. Back to the most amazing section of track next week. Can't wait for that one!

      So the cop accepted an international drivers license from the US? I thought even an IDP from the US isn’t valid in Vietnam

    • @DirtSunrise
      @DirtSunrise  5 месяцев назад

      @@robby969 Yes, we knew that it was technically not accepted, but the police were happy with it. Glad we got it!

    Back roads are best and you are paying money to local people for home stays versus feeding large companies.
