- -Heavy Faix: Massive single edged blade. Looks like a Judge weapon from FF12 and is thus one of my favorites.
0:04 Phurpa: A huge double edged blade named after a buddhist dagger. Similar in size to Heavy Faix.
0:10 Thor Hammer: Small golden hammer with intricate designs.
0:16 Thunderbolt: Curved blade that looks like Shan-Yu's sword from Mulan.
0:20 Butchers Knife: A thin but wide short sword.

i would love to see a remastered version or something new, this game is great
this game was so in depth and so ahead of its time, would be great to see online pvp battles of this game.
I'm completing the Despair setting for the fifth time. There is nothing further to unlock in the game, but the Despair setting gives me a real challenge and it provides some serious cash and swell items, dropped by the elite gladiators.
Am currently building up my Spartoi gear and will attempt to complete Despair with his pugilist (fist) weapons. Sure, they are fast, but attacks must be done at kissing-close range (and since Spartoi has had his lips torn off, that's nobody's ideal situation).

The Slash Spear and the Long Handled Saber are my favorite spears, along with the Eagle Spear if I am using a gladiator decked out in golden armor (the crowd loved that stuff).

Am making new sets of armor and weapons that are very heavy for use in the Despair game difficulty setting.
The Long Handled Saber is a favorite for her long reach and cruel slashing ability. Have one in each hand, get in close with Wild Dance, pin your opponent against the fence, and repeatedly chop him mercilessly with Cross Cutter.
Oh and I also left the Northern Shield off of my list, idk how I missed it but now I'm playing through again to get it, pretty fun to play again after being away from it for awhile, thinking of making an all Mars character
The Mars equipment set is nice and you will get a bonus to your crowd approval if you use it with the "Golden" nickname prefix, such as the Golden Massive Mountain if using a large shield and have level 50 in that technique.
Good question. I've heard australia is more strict about what it allows its games to play, but I can't find any info on it being banned. The Australian Kotaku even talks about it (the japanese version anyway) try amazon.com they have it for 9.99 and I believe they can ship to australia.
Cheap Pike?? I have played this game for years and run across that one. Perhaps one is in the online character bank? I was thinking of upgrading the worst equipment for a lark in playing head-to-head matches. Such as the broken Greek jar (Hard Krater), Lumber club, Rock cestus, Wooden Chair small shield, Woven Basket large shield (the junk you can find in the alley where you get ambushed on the way to see Aquila), Cheap Manica, and Leather Ocrea. Can't get the instructor's wooden sword, can I?
Just got this game for my Vita, it is awesome. Too bad I severed my thumb tendins and knuckle with a machete or I may actually be able to play more skillfully.I really enjoy your videos! Thanks for making them.
Is it your First time on Despair setting? Good luck...I would consider doing it again to see if I could unlock anything else..but I'd rather not tear my hair out
There is still ONE weapon that I believe is impossible to get however, when you go to the Battle Arena there is a certain gladiator that is equipped with the Cheap Pike, I haven't seen this weapon anywhere in the main game and believe it's impossible to get :(
I LOVE this game, it's my favorite game for the PSP. I've also completed Despair several times now. You guys should check out my equipment list on the gamefaqs forum (I've seen you on there sejembalm). I have since found a way to acquire the Wooden Sword for my main character (I started a new character, equipped him with the wooden sword, exported him then imported him, the same way you can dupe your best items, then waited to fight him to get the sword lol).

Any tips to get the avalanche armor and weapon? theres other one white that i like, but its more like an ivory color, dont remember the name.
I think I know what armor you are after, and if you haven't reached Danaos in dueling yet, then I suggest continue dueling and two-on-two events, the random non-famous gladiators there will have rare equipment and could swear I remember fighting gladiators with that armor set.

@@gogeta1626 Like Celadus? Yes his manica is especially hard to get. I recommend getting in real close and using the Square attack button. Maybe even combine using the Shield Charge skill once they have been knocked to the side.
Can you tell me where you got the spartan galea? I'm trying to build a spartan gladiator at the moment. Tia.

Its right there in the video, Aquillia, you have to choose the girl in yellow as your Patron, and her unique armory will give you access to it when you reach a high rank.

It's despair equipment, if I'm not mistaken. You see, a higher difficulty allows you to get even better equipment.
