The most similar lifts to Shaw House office ones.
Millenia and Centennial Tower have ruined their M-Lines sadly. These may not be far from a mod.
However, all's not great. The guards here are on a power trip. Read on to know more.
This is probably the worst case of any filmer in SG being busted.
While I was fine when I filmed this year, I got busted really horribly in January 2021.
The guards kept yelling in my face and being abusive as fuck for no good reason. Instead of talking it out calmly, they kept shouting and screaming at me to follow their orders, even screaming in my face when my mask accidentally slipped below my nose.
Basically they detained me for 2 hours and treated me like a piece of trash over just filming their service lifts. In the end the police had to come, and to be honest were A LOT NICER.
I shouldn't have even said anything to the guards or complied with their orders, because even when I told the truth they were abusive. And I later found out they also did the same to another filmer, not sure before or after me.
To be fair I got busted for filming the service lifts, but still, there was no good reason to be so harsh and even detain me.
Anyway, I hitchhiked up to 30 then filmed the ride down. The guards will be super unhappy..I also didn't step out at 30 so its not trespassing anyway LOL. And I ain't returning so they can't do much.
On that note, according to another filmer who stayed there in February, they have now put up threatening anti-trespass signs at the service lift lobby doors on room floors. I also saw a similar sign at the basement carpark lobbies for the fire lift. The doors were previously unlabelled.
Anyway, if you ever need proof abusing someone over doing something mildly wrong won't work, here it is. If you act like that it just makes people resent you.
This is barely my fault, I wouldn't have posted this clip if they hadn't verbally abused me like that. And I'm not the only enthu they did that shit to either..

Good things about Ritz Carlton Millenia:
1. Luxurious Hotel.
2. Epic 1996 Schindler M-Line lifts with distinctive sounding QKS9 Door Operator, rare black M-Line buttons and classic M-Line chimes.
Bad things about Ritz Carlton Millenia:
1. Abusive Security Guards.
This is what you experienced when you filmed those elevators in that hotel.
This is why I'm always avoiding service elevators in high end hotels, unless I'm happened to be in there for work or simply if they let me film/ride them. Service elevators in high end hotels are usually more strict than ones in mid end or budget hotels.
The worst part is that the police most likely took the sides of these abusive security guards. If this happened in NZ (hell, even if this happened in the UK or US), the guards would most likely have been arrested and convicted of some form of human endangerment.
I know Singapore is advertised as having one of the lowest crime rates in the world, but a by-product of that is that otherwise-innocent civilians are tried for even the most minor of infractions.
The fact that I actually stayed in this very hotel during my trip to Singapore in 2011/12! Just my luck that it’s now the hotel with the worst reputation among the SG elevator community… Wish I have had nothing to do with it now.
On another note, the elevators are *fantastic!* Very rarely do you see black Schindler M fixtures, *or* that tiny indicator on a capacity plate-esque “frame”!
In the Philippines it is a different story. The guard only ask me if I am filming. The guards does not stop me from filming.
In Israel, trying to access hotels in general is not easy. Security is very tight here due to high threats of terror.
That would make you feel worried if you are too lazy to ask for permission.
0:27 "Main lobby"/"One"
0:38 "Going up"
This is the real reason why I am avoiding service elevators in the Ritz-Carlton chain and other major high-end hotel chains.
Honestly apart from this and maybe a few other hotels, the service lifts just aren't worth it anymore. Almost everything has been modernised and isn't interesting or is too similar to the passenger lifts in the same hotel.
I recommend you film the lifts at Intercontinental Robertson Quay.
Only Lobby A of Millenia Walk had their M-Lines refurbished.
That's why I don't have guts to film most 5 star hotels service elevators.
Even detainees have humans right
Human rights* but yes
Were you filming with a phone or camera
Phone. I don't have a dedicated camera
@@PL1Lifts you should cover your screen while filming to make it less obvious
Honestly this has got to be one of the worst things I heard from a lift enthusiast, I did went through the same situation as you in Shaw House but at least the security gave me and my friend a reminder that level 22 was blocked off from public.😕 We tried getting into L3, not going to 22. But I think your case is worse because It was horrific for you to witness a bust when it's clearly you filming the lift, nothing much for them to freak out at as you're not suspicious.
This is one of the reasons I'm slightly afraid to film office/hotel bulidings.
What exactly happened at Shaw House?
@PL1Lifts So basically, me and UF357 tried to call L3 by using the lvl 22 method but backfired as one of the security guards is in the lift
@@weireanfilmslifts2401 That's not so bad, and you could easily say you accidentally pressed the wrong floor outside
@PL1Lifts Mhm luckily the Shaw House security guard was nice enough to give a reminder
Tsk, here we go again...
I have been shouted at multiple times for trying to trespass. While I should have known better, some of them take it very far. I'm quite glad I did not get busted by Police.
That's why I vet places very carefully, and anywhere turnstiled/gated/with feirce warning signs is a big no-no for me unless I have official permission.
When I was at Big Box, I was shouted at by security, accusing me of *trying to open the Machine Room door* when all I did was look through the machine room door window.
Next time try HDB motor room, if it's a ladder access forget it try those with stairs instead some blocks use stairs to the motor room instead of ladders. BoredShawn has filmed HDB lift motor room few years ago in Tampines.
@@hotmixer2010 HDB motor room I have more incentive not to try entering; they don't have glass window and they may have CCTV/intrusion detection.
Update: Yep, I visited Shun Li Industrial Complex with totally open doors, got threatened with police action (they could choose to call the police on me if they wanted to be more abusive).
Same case as Police Station
?
Remember everyone but the elevator and escalator filming is actually not a crime at all
Ikr? But security keeps assuming like so. Escalator filming quite hard to know if it is a crime due to mistreated voyeurism.
