My favorite channel on RUclips.. interesting, informative, and personal... I'm the same age as you Gabriel Traveller, I can relate and i feel inspired to grab my backpack and see the world... thank you so much brother... be blessed
You were seeing all of the references to York because Toronto was once called York. It was founded as the Town of York in 1793 by the British and served as the capital of Upper Canada. The name was changed to Toronto in 1834 when it was incorporated as a city. The name change was at least partly to avoid confusion with the city of New York.
Great fun trying to work out where you are. I did guess Toronto before you said it. You should make it a regular feature as its fun. Good to have you back, Gabriel ✨👍👌🙌😊It was the Banksy clue that did it for me 🎈👍
Before it was called Toronto, the city was called York after the York in England. Many Canadian city/town names are derived from their British namesakes. Most of the rest, like Toronto, Ottawa, etc., are derived from Indigenous/Native Indian origin.
Interesting but not surprising, since New York is also named after the old York in England. I wonder if they changed it to Toronto to avoid confusion with NYC.
Missed you and your adventuring! So nice to hear your theme music again…..glad you had your dental work completed and had time with family and friends….and now glad to be on the other side of your camera again, be safe and happy travels 😊
Gabe 😎👍. My mom conceived me in Toronto, Canada and had the first six months of her pregnancy there. She then went to New York City to her best friend's funeral and decided to have me there. My dad had to pack up and leave Canada to go for my birth and all. There you go.
I saw you from Bangladesh 1 year ago in Dhaka. I didn't know you then. Now I suddenly recognized your video. Best wishes to you. See you sometime. I also want to be a travel blogger and want to travel the whole world.🇧🇩
Very impressed that you're visiting your father quite often. He probably watches you and sees you all the time. Wonder. How about you finishing your videos saying Good night, mom. Good night, pop ...
Defininitely visit St Lawrence Market...get a peameal bacon on a bun at Paddington Pump. Little India on Gerrard St East for some good food! Take the ferry to Toronto Centre island & go to Kennsington Market. Oh and Scarborough bluffs is cool also!
Great start to your next adventure! I went to Toronto back in 2012 as part of a trip to the east coast USA and Canada. Loved Toronto. Exciting to see it through your eyes. Really looking forward to your coming adventures.✌️❤️🙌
Welcome to Toronto! ✌ I think I recognized the pub at the end... Was that the Scotland Yard Pub? A great place for dinner before a concert. 😀 There, or if it's not super busy, the Old Spaghetti Factory just down the road. Happy travels!
Canada looks like Australia, so distinct from American cities. Green trees, very colourful atmosphere. American cities kinda look greyish or having just one colour, probably it's due to sun effect as well. But this city looks best. You can actually walk lol. Australia has same type of buildings, structure.
Probably because Canada and Australia are Commonwealth cousins, about the same age and size, and have a similar standard of living. Many similarities between 🇨🇦 and 🇦🇺, with the main difference being one is hot and the other usually temperate/cold.
For a few years, we lived on Homewood, just off Carlton and next to the park. It was cool to see the old neighborhood in your vid. Obviously, we figured out the city pretty early lol
Good to see your new video! Given the high cost of dental work in the USA I would’ve thought that having it all done in one of your many many international destinations would have been more affordable. Good to see you on again!
Hey Gabe, I would check out Harbourfront, Kensington Market/ China Town, College Street (Little Italy), Distillery district, Toronto Island/Ferry, Annex Neighbourhood among a few places to see.
Such an interesting video. I don't know much about Canada, (I live in Southern Hemisphere) so throughout your video I would pause and Google places, people that you mention. I had never heard of Turtle Island before so that was an eye opener to learn of indigenous cultures. Thankyou. What a clean city Toronto is.. On my bucket list ❤
Artist(s): Okuda San Miguel Equilibrium This 23 storey landmark work of art by internationally celebrated street artist Okuda, from Spain, emphasizes the natural, physical and human diversity of the surrounding area through its colour palatte and form. Welcome to Toronto, my city!
Being in Canada, an interesting expérience would be to go to the french part of the country, namely Montréal and Québec cite which is probablement the nicest city of North america
Hey Chief. Sending you a smoke signal…here it comes…PUFF…PUFF…PUFF [Text form of smoke signals if you didn't catch that.] It reads, “What's new at your Teepee?? From Craig. UK.
Hi Gabriel, this was vintage Gabriel, I haven't seen you walk so much in a while Toronto looks like a great walking city much like New York. I see you're about to embark and some major traveling again great to see. I'm guessing Greek Islands before the summer is over.
Gabe, it's been a minute haha. Totally guessed Toronto Canada . From the get to I was thinking Canada and yes once I showed the skyscrapers I mailed the location.
So I have a question while the Prime Minister of Canada has the executive power technically the top most authority (without any executive power) is the British Queen or King ...right...? Just like Australia and New Zealand perhaps...?
Happy to inform my fellow dual US/Canadian citizen and fellow Californian that places named "Adelaide" around the Commonwealth are usually named for Queen Adelaide, wife of King William IV.
Oh, and "York" was the former name for Toronto. Or more accurately, Toronto was renamed York, and had that name for most of the early 1800s, before it was changed back to Toronto.
I'm glad you're back in action 🎬 my friend 🧡
Somehow Gabriel’s reminiscing and sometimes rambling is still some of my favorite RUclips content
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, much appreciated. 🍺
I've been patiently waiting for you to return. Definitely missed your entertaining video's. The world awaits. 🍻 Gabriel.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Possibly. Surprisingly, all through school, I never heard of a reason given for the name change.
let's go! Hope you had some nice time to relax.
everyone is eagerly awaiting a new video and here it is!

Dude get a Canadian passport while you're there. I travel with both my American and Canadian and its super useful to have two.
Gabe 😎👍. My mom conceived me in Toronto, Canada and had the first six months of her pregnancy there. She then went to New York City to her best friend's funeral and decided to have me there. My dad had to pack up and leave Canada to go for my birth and all. There you go.

Good to see you back Gabe ! 😊❤🇧🇦🗻🏔⛰
Great to see you back Gabriel !
You can tell right off that Gabriel was in Toronto by the upright, yellow traffic light standards. They're trademark Ontario.
As a Rush fan, I'm stoked to see you walking around the Great White North.
I went through a big Rush phase as well, when I was going to university in Alaska.
Great start to your next adventure! I went to Toronto back in 2012 as part of a trip to the east coast USA and Canada. Loved Toronto. Exciting to see it through your eyes. Really looking forward to your coming adventures.✌️❤️🙌

You got it, Scotland Yard, really liked that place and they made a perfect bangers and mash.

American cities look greyish? Are you on dope or just banged yer head? 🤡

Love your favorite- thumbnails at the beginning .. Great videos and Great times. --- T,Y..
Heck yeah let’s go!!!!
49min?! Blessed be Gabe
Yeah, I was shocked when I saw how much footage I'd filmed. Lots of rambling and reminiscing. Next video will show more of the city.
For a few years, we lived on Homewood, just off Carlton and next to the park. It was cool to see the old neighborhood in your vid. Obviously, we figured out the city pretty early lol

Good to see you on again!
It probably would be cheaper, but with something like a crown I prefer not to take any chances and go somewhere I fully trust.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos makes total sense, certainly. Really glad to see you back traveling and taping!

So many of my friends are swimming in the Willamette and I don't get it. Extremely polluted!
Toronto looks like a very lovely - walkable city.
Find a barbershop. 😊😊 Use your radar.
You have been missed. 🙂Canada is still missing on my country list and an absolute must visit for me.

Last time I was in Toronto Sam the record man was still in business 😅
Been a while, eh? 😆 🇨🇦
So I have a question while the Prime Minister of Canada has the executive power technically the top most authority (without any executive power) is the British Queen or King ...right...? Just like Australia and New Zealand perhaps...?
Correct. King Charles is Canada’s Head of State.
Enjoy yourself! Beware youth crime has gone up in Toronto!!
Welcome to Toronto!!!
Good chap
Can't recommend Atlantic Canada enough during Summer/Autumn; PEI and Nova Scotia+Cape Breton are stunning and peak enjoyability this time of year.
I know where you are, I recognize the street art, you Are in Toronto Canada, I like Canada. saludos
If you have the time i suggest going down to the lake and walking the martin goodman trail
You missed a mural of a fake facade on our flatiron building just 30 seconds from the end of the video

63 dollars the night ouch !
That was a great deal for Toronto. Everything else was over $100 USD.
Toronto, Canada, interesting. Any intentions to go to the Quebec City, the most interesting city in North America? And nice to see you back.
I'd love to see it but not this time, flying to Dublin on the weekend.
The old part of Quebec City is a hidden gem in North America. It's fabulous all year long but during the winter time it's pure Magic.
I was just there recently! It would have been really cool to bump into you there
I have been following you for a few years and live just north of Toronto in a small town called Aurora. It would be cool to meet up.
At 2 minutes into the video I can guess that you are in Toronto! Welcome back to Canada and I hope you come back to my home town of Montreal.
