- This is Round 3 of the Round Table Conference, a tournament featuring 16 decks from the 13th main booster of the Digimon Card Game: VS Royal Knights. The next two decks to clash are the Royal Knights deck led by Yggdrasil and Ravemon: Burst Mode. The myriad-coloured Yggdrasil deck utilises the Yggdrasil Digi-Egg to run a play-exclusive engine that gradually reduces the cost of the Knights as they accumulate in Yggdrasil's evolution cards before unleashing them in a single all-out attack with the SEC Omnimon. It is highly versatile in terms of the various effects the different Knights, being of different colours, have access to. On the other hand, the Purple Ravemon: Burst Mode deck specialises in tricky moves, trashing the opponent's hand while replacing them with cards from their Security. To maintain field presence, they temporarily send their boss Digimon to the Trash during the opponent's turn before returning to finish off what remains of the opponent's life. Who will emerge victorious? The ultimate computer hailed as a god? Or the bonds between human and Digimon?

RULE CLARIFICATIONS (At 14:15, during Ygg's final turn):
(1) Dynasmon should have triggered to wipe all opp Lv.4 or lower Digimon as well.
(2) Jesmon would have had to delete at least 1 Peckmon. "Up to" effects (even the "any number" ones) force you to choose at least 1 potential target if there are any.
So with Keenan's Memory gain, they wouldn't be able to win that turn but it doesn't affect the outcome.
This was a really fun matchup. In my playtesting, these 2 decks (my builds at least) went head to head against each other approximately 50/50. Funnily enough, Keenan has some tools that really mess with Yggdrasil's strategy such as Ame-no-Ohabari which wrecks the Knights so they don't go into Ygg's source (while maintaining Rave's field presence and depleting Ygg's Security simultaneously) and the new BT13 Keenan which is almost always 2 cost to play against Ygg and makes all the Knights more expensive. There was even one game I had where Rave took the win 5-0. But of course, the Knights have tools that hate Rave too such as trusty Ulforce for the bounce and Examon which can shut Crows down and slip past Retaliation Blockers. Still though, I must say the Royal Knights are indeed a force to be reckoned with. If I'm not wrong, they're our first 'gimmick' deck to showcase decent competitive influence from the start? (But I mean, can you call it a gimmick if it has 2 SECs from the same set?) A bit of a shame they ended up in the same block as Masaru so their decisive showdown will happen at the Semi-Final latest but who knows, maybe Thomas and MirageGaogamon will turn out to be the true protagonists of this arc.
Yeah I don't think it would affect the outcome. Keenan would be at 1 starting memory and you have 8 RKs that are Blockers, and LK will give you 8 memory if Keenan decides to attack at all. Alphamon stops any Ravemon from attacking as well.
So, you´re deciding wich deck wins, because you do a lot of testing before??? I think that´s unfair, because I´ve seen you always make the most popular deck win... You should do best of 3 and let the luck decide...
@@Dpchihuahua When did I ever say that? I never decide which deck wins, I leave it all to 1 round of luck. The meta/popular decks dont always win in my vids

That final turn was insane! All those 11K+ Digimon on the field at the same time is not something you see often; At this moment I knew that the Ravemon had no hope of winning. Didn't expect the Royal Knight deck to look so fun it was a great match, thank you.

Amazing match! Looks like the host computer will be moving along to face another of the DATS agents. Which agent, we'll just have to see.
Man Yggdrasil looks like a fun deck, very dynamic, and feeling very imposing. And it'll only get more dynamic as the Knights get more cards with On Play or general field-presence effects.
If we ever get my hoped-for real Royal Knight set to follow up the idea of BT13, maybe it'll be able to get something special too; like a Norn Tamer or Yggdrasil core. They'd make some good Secret Rares.
Holy crap, that was awesome! I've always really loved the concept of the Royal Knights (heck, even made them a major plot point in a Digimon ttrpg campaign I ran) and seeing this deck in action made me so hyped! I'm hoping in round 2 we'll be able to see all 13 knights brought out at once!

Stellar fight. Unfortunately, stealth cannot easily pierce such mighty shields.
First, your production quality is really nice, especially the music and your commentating!
Second, the Royal Knights deck really has a flavor of „can‘t be beaten“ to it. Sure, one can win against it but one really sees how winning against it becomes less likely with every turn. It feels so hopeless when Ygdrassil literally has no more security but you are staring down 2 big blockers.
Just play something like psychemon there are plenty of digimon that stops yggdrasil in its tracks
@@gnericdscription8903Jesmon Dynasmon and Gallantmon all clear those with no concern. Along with Ulforce and Kentarous, there’s plenty of ways to clear and go about your turn.
Suprised to see Leopardmon here since it has its own deck in this tournament too.
Wouldn't be an RK deck if only the others are inside haha, and personally I believe in 4 Leopards for this deck

This deck won't work without Duftmon. Both of its effects to discount post Yggdrassil and turning all RKs into Blockers are too good. I'm currently using 3 in my RK deck.

Great match! Enjoy the RK deck but would have loved to see Ravemon win!
And while I don't believe that it would have affected the outcome of the game, Jesmon has to delete at least one Digimon with his On Play effect. "Choose any number of your opponent's Digimon..." effects are treated the same as "up to" effect in that at least 1 Digimon must be targeted if there is an applicable target.

Well that was an interesting match. I wonder if Bandai might make norn ("human" yggdrasil) a tamer to support this deck even though it is currently strong if a deck like Bagra that can rip cards from hand can snipe omnimon out to delay for a few more turns.

Well I thought it was over for yggdrasil when Omni got sniper but they had enough blockers to keep up until they got another one.

Yeah it gets even scarier realising that omekamon is at 4 no wonder it got high praise in the jp nats
Was rooting for Ravemon but the moment I saw that Omnimon being added to hand I knew it was over. Great match as always!
This is why I'm so excited for Royal Knights to make their official debut! There's something so satisfying about going most of the game with only 2 or 3 digimon in play at once, security all wiped out, only to swing back with 7 Mega's all at once and win the game
Yggdrasil. One of the decks I will maybe play but got to see if I deck which nearly all cards are sr oder sec will be expensive or because of Yggdrasil the cards are not so expensive but so or so if I have the money I will build it. Now I know too that Leopardmon is the key card to survive until you get what you need.
Ravemon was going crazy at the start but the RK deck got that snowball effect. After so many turns it can't lose gotta take it out quick.

That was crazy! Some point Keenan and Falcomon had the lead, but Yggdrasil pulled some crazy stuff off and won in the end and the royal knights attacked with everything to finish the job. Did you notice some of the cards side by side can complete images together? It's like the legion and legion mate cards from Cardfight Vanguard

Wtf was that final turn? I mean, early on it looked like Ravemon would win easily, according to security, And then suddenly, 8 attacks out of nowhere? I think this qualifes this turn as the craziest Digimon TCG moment I've seen, on par with the final ulforceveedramon turn in the first video of the tournament.
Yeah when Yggdrasil hits it's wincon [Free Omnimon] it's essentially Exodia. You lose.
@@raikaria3090 doesn't even need to be free. Duftmon can be played by the Option and use its effect to further discount Omegamon's cost by 4. Or when Omegamon is played and Sleipmon is one of the Digimon played from Yggdrassil, it can +3 memory given the total of both security is 6 or less.
RK deck works very well mid to lategame but it has to endure the first 3-4 turns or so.
My boy put in Pokemon music as Yggdrasil's boss music and yet it fits perfectly. This song goes hard.
15:05 I believe when an effect says "choose any number of your opponents digimon...." You have to select a minimum of 1. You can't choose 0.
Facts
zero is a number. So choosing any number, you choose 0. It would say choose 1 if you didnt have a choice.

@LordLad666 Noah is right! Seems to be a "some things are lost in translation" issue because when I took another look at the Japanese text, it does imply that you have to choose if there are targets. This is also covered in the detailed rules document
@@rustmarrow I believe that means Royal Knights could not have won that turn. Ravemon would have got 1 memory off Keegan and 1 off Tsukaimon, passing the turn over. However, with Royal Knights all having blocker there's no way Ravemon could have won on the following turn, so it doesn't change much.

If going for black, Gaia Reactor might be more effective! When the Knights are led by Omni, there will only be 1 highest cost card (or 2 if Exa is around)

@@airtonevch not every deck can bring Psychemon tho. Also the RKs can naturally deal with it via Purge of the RK. Some builds bring Masaru even.
@@kyrios0307 you have psychemon, solarmon, and chikurimon and i think there is a yellow digimon as well that makes it so neither player can reduce play costs so there are alot of options
@@rgd3139 there are only the 3 that you mentioned. Yellow has only 2 floodgate Rookies: Cutemon (prevents evo cost discount) and Pillowmon (prevents playing Digimon by effects).
Royal Knights is a scary deck, but I haven't seen it much at my locals. Probably because it is so expensive trying to run a playset of both SEC from the set
You don't need a playset of Dukemon

Ravemon was so close to winning, they managed to delay Yggdrasil wrath by getting rid of their trump card. Sadly, Yggdrasil was able to stall and gain enough time to search for omegamon back to destroy the ninja bird.

Omegamon is Exodia, with Yggdrasil and the other RKs being the cards used to find its’ pieces
At the final turn where omnimon summons all the royal knight wouldn’t dynasmon’s other skill activate to delete the lvl 4 peckmons?
Nope, they are played at the same time. So 'another RK' hasnt been played while Dynasmon is on the field yet

@@rustmarrow actually yes. Dynasmon counts that timing as having other RKs being played as well. The base for this ruling is Anubismon - it gains Rush even when it plays itself.

Royal knights really are just a time-bomb of a deck. The SECOND you see that Yggdrasil flipped, you need to swing for the fences and not stop until the game is over. Otherwise, you’ll lose in an instant. Ravemon came close, but it just couldn’t seem to slip past the blockers… Unfortunate, since I was rooting for Keenan and Ravemon.
I’m definitely picking up a Ravemon deck once the support is available to me though!

They should make decks that take control of the opponent's digimon in the battle area
You should make the competition fairer by pitching every deck built to fight every deck that was built. Making a ranking system like that is very interesting. Of course it will be nice to have best out of 3 on every match to make the competition fairer, but that would take too much time. Not sure you know what i mean, but at least its an interesting idea to know which deck is the best.
Interesting idea, but thats not the point of my channel. My goal is to entertain with exciting fights, not to decide a ranking or tierlist. To me, it's fun when a rogue deck beats a meta deck in a 1-off battle due to luck of the draw
@@rustmarrow well, if you put it that way, then what you say is true. Oh well, to be fair, every deck is good when it comes to luck draw. It just depends how lucky the players can get XD
but from your vids, its more towards skills rather than luck. Example, you rather not trigger conditions that gives opponent advantages. Normal players just activate them anyway to see how lucky they can get during that turn itself instead of buying one more turn. A YOLO play you may say it. That is why i find it more interesting with the suggestion I gave considering your playstyle.
All in all, keep doing what you think its best man. No matter what it is, its interesting to see different decks on how they perform and I get to see more cards.

Watching this without remembering how all the cards work, I was wondering what the Royal Knights would actually end up doing. Seems like without Omnimon it struggles to do much of anything? Personally I find the Ravemon deck far more interesting, it's a shame to see it defeated like this.
Still, I guess if Yggdrasil ends up being popular we'll see a lot more of Solarmon, Chikurimon, and Psychemon.

@@rustmarrow you have the option on board to play it for free already, it's the best card in your deck and your against the only deck in the game that focuses on discarding your hand. It's seems like a no Brainerd honestly
@@coffeedudeable Dude. When you play it with the Option, [On Play] doesnt activate. Putting Omni under Yggdrasil makes it a dead card. Only another Omni can pull it out and make it worth it
@rustmarrow my bad I did not realize that. Makes the deck pretty vulnerable to this matchup over all then and much more inconsistent as a whole maybe the hype for the deck is just cause it's new and not as strong as I originally thought.
