True story. 7th grade, I'm on the school bus heading to class. Our bus driver was hip and kept the radio tuned to 92.5. They played all the jams! I distinctly remember "Candy" coming on and everyone would go nuts!
These guys clearly had a great sense of humour. And they all know how to ham it up for the camera. Pure entertainment. They were very ready for the MTV era.

Starting that era with 'shake your pants' and ending it with 'FLLIRRRRTT ' ! , then went on a lengthy hiatus . The second coming of Cameo started with 'Word Up' and all that followed was smash mf hits! The transformation of their music was incredible .. .and no one has ever did that as successfully as Cameo. Fans are not always kind to change. I'm trying to stay away from the words "reinvent themselves" , bcuz it is more of an evolution of a band than it is a reinvention of one. They have lived 2 lives... & they still Cameo !
