- In this video, I'll show you guys the magic of inversions! I start by playing a little piece in F and I'll explain how I think about it. later, I'm going over F major & F minor triads (1-3-5) in 6th, 5th & 4th string. There's a PDF with TAB & notation for all this on Patreon.

Are you gonna write a song with those chords? / comment your song link w those shapes & I'll have listen!
You have such an easy and calming way of presentation - its like your teaching method has inversions lol
One of the greatest skills of Rotem is (besides being a jazz guitar hero extraordinaire) that he simply makes you love music more. Thanks Rotem!
I typed in the search 'exploring chord inversions' - this answered that 10 fold. The power of simple inversions are not explored near enough. I believe we should look at them as powerful unique subsets, where each inversion can evoke a rich mystical quality. This video clearly demonstrates the rich beauty they posses. (And this was only two keys F and Fm) 👍
Rotem, I need to say that once: I admire watching your fingers touching the strings so unbelievably gently. I never saw a player caressing the strings all the time like you do. When I watch your hands playing, it feels like watching Bob Ross paint. Except for I could paint like Bob Ross, but not play like you (yet). But really, watching you play is taking away all stress of me and I am just talking about watching you. What I hear relieves me even more.
The look of your playing style might be irrelevant to lots of people maybe, but it rounds up the experience to me and when I look at your videos for a minute I feel warm and soft and become a better person within myself. Love your warm voice as well by the way.
And I truly mean it. Don't fear I would want to marry you now, but, man, you have something worthy to give and I say thanks!
I had exactly the same impression when I first heard Rotem on Paul Davids' channel. I was like ”How is he making those angelic sounds?!” Part of it is his set up and effect pedals (which I would like to copy) but he needs to have such an intimate relationship with his guitar to be able to touch the strings as if he was caressing a kitten 😄 I'm also in awe with his style. It's on the opposite end of a spectrum from very skillful shredders who also must have a close relationship with their guitars but more of a sadomasochistic nature 😉
Rotem, if you happened to read this comment, please, could you do a video on how to obtain your tone (unless it's your precious secret) and also how to improve picking?
Hey rotem I’ve seen just about every one of your videos and I think I’ve figured it out. You’re in the key of F major using a I IV V iii I ii I progression. Which would be eight bars ending on the ii & starting back on the I , you’ve taught me so much, at least twice a week I’ll get up in the morning, have some coffee and take notes on one of your videos, followed up with practice, ☮️
So good. One of those lessons that made a light bulb go off in my head. Thx man. Great stuff.
Took me a secon nd to understand its not a scale it just inversions of the same chord that give a very beautiful impression of a complete scale. I realy love you chordal work. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Rotem - I really love your musical understanding and approach. And your playing is really sublime. Btw I’m a huge Pat Metheny fan…. guess you are too❤️ Best regards from Denmark 🇩🇰
Most of the music channels I watch are for entertainment, but when I actually want to learn something I come here - thanks Rotem!
🙏🙏🙏
Not sure why you don't already have at least a million subs man, your content is golden!
Vraiment très bien….bravo
Man you’re such an amazing instructor, the way you explain all the information is super clear not boring nor confusing, I love your videos, and thank you for making me a much better and complete guitar player.
This is by far the best and most useful lesson on triad inversions on YT as far as I know.
I pre ordered your true fire course and am so excited to plunk down and go through it 🥰
Such graceful teaching. Just grateful for this lesson. Just what I needed. Thanks a ton.
Dude, I don't know what it is about you but I am learning SOOO much. I think I find the triad info easier to absorb and map. Thank you!
'Loyal' to set of strings, 'heroic' top F note, I love it! Great informative video!
Rotem, another wonderful video. I need to go over it in detail. I have always stuggled with inversions. Can't wait to explore. Thanks again!!
Excellent guitar lessons.. concise yet sooo informative.. and clearly reaching the heart of the subject matter.. taught only by a musician who has clearly mastered the secrets of music theory.. THANK YOU ..
That guitar is so gorgeous
You are one of the best to explain the magic we hear! Thank you.
why this vide have only 16 thausnds views, its a must watch
Loyal to the set of strings you're playing! I love that expression Rotem, you have such a wonderful way with words.
I love playing different inversions, when I first learned this concept, it immediately opened up tons of new avenues for my playing. I wrote new music almost without trying.
Thanks for another wonderful video!
fantastic rotem
Rotem I love you. This is one of the best lessons I've ever had. I am grinding studying these inversions, they're so beautiful
That reverb is fantastic!
Thank you! I really appreciate how you build your lesson(s) into a sweet, but manageable, composition; it really helps me to better retain the information - in this case, the various inversions.
I am a miner and you're a mine of gold
❤️ thanks brother
Love your playing and your guitar Class, I just have to have a giggle when you say You,ll get used to the stretch pretty quickly ...
Amazing
Great lesson and also very good approach of the lessons. Thanks Rotem.
🙏
great as usual!
Muy bonita progresión,,, Y que pedazo de guitarra... Me encanta ese estilo modernista...🤩🤩🤩
Great
This is great. Thx
It makes me insane when I watch a teacher, such as you and in the background there are many guitars in a stand or hanging on the wall.
What are they???
You should do a quick video just going down the line... quickly "introducing" your instruments!!
I need to know what the Great Rotem Sivan plays!!
The one he's playing is a beauty!
@@teleguy5699 I agree!
Please advise what's about your string set used...do thanks.
👏👏👏👏👏
Rotem. It all sounds very cool. Why does it look like your patch cable is unplugged? Is that just the acoustic volume of that guitar?
I find you're doing unnecessary stretches, for the 2nd and 3rd inversions of F ( low strings), I use 5-3-5 and 8-7-10, much easier for me at least;) Is there a specific reason for this?
Was this progression taken from Ralph Towner's "The Sacred Place"? It sounds exactly the same.
Not that I know...
What’s going on with your true fire course they took it down after it was put for a few hours today
I had a few revisions for the notation - will be up asap. 🙏
What guitar is he playing?
Dangelico
@@luigicapola9373 thank you.
I'm so frustrated with jazz guitar chords that I just end up playing it on the piano instead.
